| What a sorry state of affairs. I can only hope we avoid oblivion and really learn some lessons, particularly in communicating with supporters and being more savvy with banks, legal issues and dealing with the governing body. Then maybe we won't get any more nasty surprises.
Thanks to all from Bullbuilder who put questions last night.
I suspect the nature of the shareholders meant an EGM was never on the cards. Perhaps if we have a long term we could look at ways to address this issue?
In the meantime I hope the pledge works. The club still have a lot of doubters to persuade and that could be the difference. What are they doing to address this issue in these last few days?

| They ARE looking at ways to address the shareholding issue, for the longer term. They know it is unsustainable, and it does their heads in as much as it does ours.

| Can we expect a decent press release from the club re pledging and someone going on the radio before Friday? It's a must IMO...

| Incidentally, we were not exactly a compliant bunch last night. Some of the exchanges were robust, an I can tell you that I told Peter on at least one occasion, regarding a specific, that he was just plain wrong. And pretty assertively, because he was. And yes we agreed then that how he had expressed it WAS wrong. The underlying message was right; the delivery was not.
THAT I think is at the core of a lot of the recent mistrust of the BOD. How it has been delivered, not the underlying message.
Caisley had the same problem, and in spades, so its nothing new.

We told them, and we told them, and we told them...
I told Ryan last Friday they had to.
I sincerely hope they do.

| Adey, big thanks for the info and well done to all at Bullbuilder for the efforts involved.
I know the BOD said they have been "very disappointed" with local businesses, have the board had any joy at all from the larger, obvious businesses with presence in Bradford? Like the Supermarkets, Morrisons etc? And have we just been asking for donations or are we actively offering something in return like free advertising space in exchange for a donation? We have acres of space on the site we could redirect to advertising if needs be surely?
Is there any milage in giving away stadium/stand naming rights for a suitable donation? The last time the naming rights were sold we got 500k for 4 years. I know its different economic times, but would a company take say 10 years of advertising for just 100-200k? (it doesnt matter how long we give it away for if we're not going to be here in a month!) The Red Bull stadium? The Morrisons arena? Have we been cold calling these companies with these type of offers?
Thanks again for giving your time to this Adey and others.

Thankyou for the informative posts once again.
Question: we somehow raise the £500,000 thus leaving us a window of opportunity of precisely Four to Six weeks to seek investment.
What happens if after week Four or Six no investment is forthcoming, does Administration still register on the horizon Adey??
We simply cannot allow this club with all it's fantastic heritage to die because of stubborn supporters holding grudges against the current board of directors.

| Some pretty passionate and sensible talk today but the worry is not enough appear to think they can help or are prepared to help
I have said it once and will say again, we need to pledge now and give us 4-6 weeks to continue fundraising etc. This time period is at least twice as long as the current time frame and look at what we have acheived, lets face it from a standing start. 2 weeks ago the only problem we thought we had was a bad display against Salford
We need help now, lets hope the snow clears and doesnt put people off the auction. Can you bid over the phone on the night or are we getting too technical!!!
We must survive and ask questions later
I cant tell my 4 small kids we cant go to rugby and sit in the 'red seats' again

If...WHEN we get the £0.5m (and please, let it exceed that) the BOD stated categorically that they will not be going back to the fans for more.
They urged though that fundraising continues, since £0.5m is the minimum that will serve for this season. Anything above that gives the BOD more power to retain the young talent, in the face of the elastic salary caps elsewhere, and provide the best possible squad, and to give the most support to the squad.
They indicated that there is plenty in progress to improve the income and funding streams further in future.

Adey, can you give us any idea what that might mean? Quite a few people would like to believe there is a plan to get us out of this mess but the club haven't given any info other than "there is a business plan going forward".

As others have stated I think we all could live with move to sell John Bateman to the chequebook predators IF it ment the survival of the club.

| Hopefully it wont come to selling our youth players, survival of the club comes first, but if we get through this, we need to be building our team around Bateman and Whitehead.

I agree but remember we actually don't need to raise One Million pounds (although it would be nice to) as Ryan has said £800,000 will be sufficient to implement the boards long term plan/strategy.
I only see players being sold if when all the counting is completed on Saturday - we are below that £500,000 threshold.

I hope the Bulls survive, but if they don't I think you should be clear where the blame lies, and it isn't with fans who don't pledge. There are other people with more looking in the mirror to do.

To be fair, if the Bulls don't survive, some of the blame would have to lie with the fans who don't pledge. They have happily accepted £75 season tickets, yet don't feel the club is worth anymore than that. If the club goes, there will be plenty of time to sit around blaming each other. They could spend every Sunday between 3 and 5 repeating "it's not my fault" over and over.

| Quote ="Adeybull"Why should you be surprised?
Yes, the whole question of the shareholdings was discussed, and at length. The board is fully aware of the massive hindrance the current structure poses. They pointed out that about half a dozen people bother to attend the AGMs, and the average age is apparently 83 - and I believe that was not a joke. So we have a very active shareholder base, as you can see?
Some of what was discussed cannot go on here. If it could, I suspect a few of the negative views towards the BOD would need revisiting, but I appreciate I can hardly urge that without putting up the detail.
Hood cannot speak for anything beyond the Board's 25%.
If the shareholders ever felt they could have done a better job they could have convened an EGM and sacked the BOD. That they have never done so rather suggests to me that they either cannot see a better alternative, or one at least is sat waiting ready for if/when the BOD fails.
An insolvent business has no value for the shareholders.'"
I'm surprised because in my experience there are no such things as backers and investors unless they are buyers and owners. My supposition has been that the reason there is no queue at Peter's door is the same reason he recieved no response from the 1000 letters he sent out last year.
I'm certain they're exasperated by the shareholding. The management of the club is essentially impossible in the situation they're in. I can see no way they can sort it out.

Regardless of who was right and who was wrong it is in the hands of the fans to support the pledge.
If they do not then the club will probably cease to exist in its current form.
By doing nothing they are killing the club. As far as i can see it's that simple.

This just about hits the nail on the head for me.
I don't want people to get on my back for this, but sometimes i feel that a lot of people in Bradford enjoy moaning about misfortune rather than actually trying to do something about the situation they find themselves in and change it.
No offence intended.
