| Quote ="paulwalker71"I accept that Lilley and Kear would be first choice.
Who would have dropped out from the 17 last night to include Scurr. Kibula and Musapha? Or are we saying that Ben Evans shouldn't be in 17? Or that we signed Chester Butler to play in our reserves.
And Mustapha isn't even our player. We saw the problems with relying on other team's players when Corey Johnson got oiked back to Leeds just before kick off last night.
I'm not nit-picking. Yes we had a few injured players last night. But then so did Leigh. EVERY team has injuries for every game. I don't doubt that Barrow will have a few missing on Sunday. That's why we have squads.
We can't keep using the 'we had a few injuries' line like Kear did after the game last night. We have a squad for a reason. Last night was a very representative team given our position. Injuries were not the reason we got clobbered .'"

Is a stronger team than last night.
Our bench options were poor last night you need your best team to challenge Leigh and Fev.
Butler, Wallace,Fleming, Hall, DFJ as cover.

| Agree that the benches were the difference last night. Our was particularly light weight and certainly wouldn’t have been helped by the late reshuffle but we know that’s the risk of the silly loan and DR systems. But clubs in our position have no choice but to use it. Even leigh use DR shown by Dan Norman from saints scoring for Leigh last night.
Having slept on it after getting back late last night, it was a good effort first half / 60 mins but the fitness was always going to show especially as we did so much defending. Leigh seemed to get a penalty on nearly every set perhaps our discipline is really that bad.
Either way that was always going to tell and it’s just a shame we let them rack up 30 points in the second half.
ATEOTD the sad truth is we were always very likely to lose and that performance doesn’t worry me. It’s the showings against our playoff competition and teams we should be looking to beat if we want to be in the playoffs places.

Of course it is. And Leigh would have stronger with the three or four players they had out injured
EVERY team has injuries EVERY week. It's Rugby League - players get injured, and teams almost never have their first choice team available.
That's my point. We can't keep using the excuse of injuries when every team gets injuries.

| Line speed not good enough either. I don’t get why we go up 3m then wait for the attacker to get to us. Every other team gets up 6-7m and practically meets the attacker on the advantage line (or near enough) and we never seem to do that.

| Anymore excuses... first time we played on actual grass.. first time we've played on an evening.. first time we've played opposition who had less time to prepare..
Whilst that clearly wasn't our strongest side, it won't be Leigh's either and we never looked like winning at any point in the match. It wasn't the supporters who talked about going from trying to be the best of the rest to genuine contenders for promotion. At the moment we aren't even in race for best of the rest. It doesn't help that our style is so dull and predictable to watch. Certainly isn't going to entice people to spend their afternoon at Odsal.

| Have to say that as well as the awful performance on the field some of the stuff in the stands werent too clever either.
Fans running down from the back of the stand to abuse the touch judge and having to be restrained by stewards.
The chants
'Dereck Beaumont is a sex offender'
And
'Your goin home to S**G your sister'
Also aimed at the touchie were an absolute embarrasment to the club.

Might be worth reporting this to the club before if gets out of hand and we end up with a 10k fine like Fev. Few bans would stop this.

Completely agree about the chants. Small but vocal group of kids.
But just to clear up, one fan went to the front to approach the touch judge because he was laughing and smirking and even blew a kiss to the Bradford fans whilst waiting for leigh to take a kick at goal. I’m not defending it at all don’t get me wrong but I can understand why someone less calm might get wound up by that from a professional official.
The steward seem to share a joke with the guy that went down and was dancing with him about 5 minutes later but it’s true the club can’t afford to be on the end of any fines and hopefully the young lads see some sense before it gets out of hand.
The singing and cheering for DFJ, after that ‘tackle’ even when he asked them to turn it down was more disappointing in my opinion

| Didn't hear any of said abusive chanting from a seat at the North end of the West Stand. Microphones don't seem to have picked it up on any medium viewed/heard since, can't see it being anything other than water off a duck's back for Derek Beaumont, if indeed he heard it and, whilst officials will always stamp out dissent on the park, it would take a pretty thin-skinned touch judge to give it a second thought after the hooter. No action necessary.
As to Foggin-Johnson card tackle, saw that it was late and high but Bradford fans were better placed to judge how bad it was. Premier Sports' youtube highlights (whilst showing Walker's yellow offence) omitted the red incident completely. Just watched the full game again on Bulls TV on the 'tube and the camera angle gives no further clue. Grade E (if upheld) will give him a bit of time to rid himself of cerebral flatulence given that the game was already lost.
First time seeing Bradford this season for Bongser who by HT was already relaxed enough to foresee a comfy win, but your lot will be okay this season if a few excess pounds are shed here and there, something that (in a fraternal manner) was helpfully pointed out to Walker as he was interchanged in the second half and had to walk off right in front of the North Stand. Think the wording was, " You fat press-stud."
Good luck against Barrow if it goes ahead. Bongser is back to rooting for you.

| Anyone see the scoring pattern from the York Leigh match. Pretty much a carbon copy of ours.
I'm not trying to make excuses for our performance, but it's interesting that York had a second half hammering just like we did.

| I don't see how we played against Leigh as much of a yardstick given they're miles ahead in terms of budget, conditioning, facilities etc. It's how we play against teams like Sheffield that we need to look at in comparison with others. We had a bad run at the end of last year after beating York comfortably. It continued with the Sheffield debacle a few weeks back. The next few games are v important to maintain interest. Perform poorly and people will find other things to do rather than watch the Bulls.

| Last year watching Toulouse and Fev in the flesh I though they were a really good standard for the championship. Possibly only Toronto and Hull KR in recent memory would have beaten either. I didn't think that about Leigh. I thought we're hopeless.

Yes. Toulouse were one of the best I’ve seen in the championship last year and its a shame that the side in SL is probably weaker than the one that competed in the championship last year.

Second half stretch away granted, but very different tries in quite different conditions.

Because Toulouse is in France which requires the players to be fully vaccinated- if I was a betting man

| On the Bulls' coverage I thought Mick Gledhill actually put forward a decent point.
Some of the PT teams will have players who were at work at 6am that morning so anyone coming up against an FT team on Monday is at another, immediate disadvantage.
I suspect we'll see quite a few PT teams implode in the second half during Monday night games against FT opposition

Well there's no point prolonging the agony I suppose. At least this way the cup won't be a distraction anymore from the real objective which is you gaining promotion.
