| The Tl DAllas does look poor, but as it is only about 3meters from somebody's house, theres not a lot can be done as the stadium doesnt need expanding anyway.
the lower tier of that stand isnt used by City ever, so i would rip the seats out of there and create a standing area there.
I would also rip out the seats from the Betfair, Midland road stand, and replace then with the red amber and black "Bulls" ones!
Simple! I would open up the northwest corner as a bulls family stand (another whoile section that isnt used on city matches) and close the top tier of the Kop for BUlls games. This would reduce the capacity, but keep everybody closder to the action.

| Quote ="mat"from memory the flat pitch at old trafford is 106m. there is then another meter or so which drops at an angle to the hoardings so its actually closer to 108m between hoardings. Its fine for a single game but wouldnt be acceptable week in week out. AFAIK we had a dispensation from RFL to play in the smaller dimensions at VP as it was only supposed to be a temporary 2 year thing while odsal was redeveloped. Dont think they would acept it long term without alterations.'"
As far as I know there is no actual requirement to have 100m for the pitch, and the last time I looked (it may have changed, of course....) the ruling only required clubs to be as "near to 100m as possible". There are still a few clubs in SL with pitches under the maximum length, and it may be that the RFL are simply waiting for all clubs to actually have 100m before making it compulsory, but you never know, and if we were the last I would be worried!

| So as close as possible to 112metres then?
so the 103 at VP is as close as you can get there, so its ok!

| A very minor point I know, but a stadium with a mix of Bulls and City signage and coloured seats would look truly horrible.

| Quote ="Bulls Boy 2011"Agree entirely. However I don't think we should groundshare because the City fans will moan about ruining the pitch. Take 2001 for example, They were in Prem/just relegated, we were SL champions but because they were high up they thought that the Bulls were just messing up pitch week in week out and no possibility of groundshare. Now seen as though City are on the brink of being relegated into Conference they suddenly like the idea of Groundshare.
1. The location of VP is poor, [urubbish parking, Manningham Lane would be packed every weekend.[/u
2. Two sides of VP is big the other two are tiny compared.
3. TL Dallas stand looks poor, it makes the stadium look uneven.
4. Why should the Bulls share at VP with City when City arn't doing anything?
I think we should scrap the idea of groundshare at VP, either get the £15 million for OSV and have Park Avenue and City there, or build a Bradford Sports Complex with 25,000 capacity stadium, mixture of Black/Amber/Red and Maroon/Amber-Yellow seats. with 5,000 standing in front of 2 of the stands (like The Willows do). These will be closed on City games. Joint ownership of ground, each have to pay the same amount every month/year. You could even build this 'new' ground where Richard Dunns is. Use Odsal as the training pitch during season.'"
It's packed every weekend now, if 10,000 people can manage it for years why can't Bulls fans?

not as simple as that. the 100m pitch length is the maximum. There is also a minimum length which isnt mentioned on that diagram. also it doesnt include the safe zone (not sure of correct terminology) which is usually expected on top of the in goal area. once you add the figures up VP is right at the lower limit ,if not below, of what is allowed and would certainly need extending if it was to be a long term option.

I was trying to track that down earlier, since I did that once before and proved on here VP as it stands was extremely unlikely to meet the minimum effective dimensions.

I found it last time this came up. IIrc last time we were ar VP we had to have minimum length pitch and minimum length in goal area and then we fall short on the safe zone but that is a recomendation rather than an absolute rule. hence why we had a dispensation ,I think, last time we played at VP. RFL were ok as a short term thing but not sure they would be so accomodating over a permanent arrangement.

I like you're thinking Matt.
Mr Blackburn does have ££££ behind him and maybe the planned 20,000 stadium at Thornbury could be on again?

thornbury seems to have died a death. was thinking more along lines of park avenue coming back onboard at odsal. would open up football related funding streams and dont think terracing is an issue at level park avenue are at.

I agree if it means Park Avenue sharing Odsal to help develop it that is what I would vote for because Valley Parade will see the club die, likewise if City moved to Odsal.

| We've got a history of link ups with Avenue anyway. I used to go to watch them about 10 years back, when a Bulls season ticket got you in at Horsfall for half price (which was £3). Would be a bit weird going again though as the lad I used to go with died a few years back and I haven't been again since.

Both use amber, claret is a red, stick a bit of black in it and Robert is the brother of one of your parents.

| There are five hundred hues of red in sport. The gamut runs from cherry to claret having passed through wine and blood on the way. Woe betide anyone who uses the wrong one.
(City's off-purple vision of claret counts as a wrong one).

I've had many a debate in the boozer (while slightly intoxicated) over where City colours were "Claret & Amber" or "Red & Orange", and Bulls colours were "Red, Amber & Black" or "Red, Orange and Black". In fact, I've had that debate far too many times for it to be anything but embarrassing

| Someone could seriously write a book on the names given to the colours of sporting teams. There are identical shades of yellow called either primrose or gold depending on who's wearing them and then there are colours that might as well be opposite each other on the colour wheel that are given the same name. It's a strange business.
