And I think you are both missing my point, I am saying that I don't believe its part of any tactic to sign a player. How could it possibly benefit a sales cycle as a buyer to be swanning around saying we've got money and so could afford to pay a little bit more (which is what you are effectively signalling) . So if you are saying that it is a tactic to buy a player then going to the press and saying we've got money and space could be construed as giving the hand away.

That is why I don't think it is a tactic to sign a player but a statement from Peter Hood to show we are strong financially and have come a long way. We also have the flexibility to sign someone should the right player become available....and I hope the right one comes along because we may need to tweak the squad mid season but it is also often difficult to find people mid season . But I feel we have recruited well and I'm not unhappy with the shape of the team.

They should use his co-star in that god awful Chick Flick instead, Josh Hartnett. He already has the Yorkshire accent down from his part in "Blow Dry" (also starring Alan Rickman & Bill Nighy).

If you've not seen it, it's highly recommended. Not for the film, which is a bit naff, but for Mr. Hartnett's attempt at a Keighley accent. Quite probably the funniest attempt I've ever heard from an American trying to do an English accent. I spent the entire film just laughing every time he spoke.

exactly. Bringin pryce in when we didnt have a standoff made sense. WE've now got a promising young standoff who could give us 10yrs service if he works out. Bringing pryce in mid season could lead to a repeat of harris situation where we lose younger players who we could get better value for money long term out of in order to accomodate a big name expensive signing. Undoubtedly short term it would help our results but I think we should be thinking a little longer term than that tbh.
