This is exactly the same way we form our governments, so is hardly a surprise.
One thing which constantly baffles me about my fellow members of the working class is why, when they want to kick those in charge they [ialways[/i vote for the far right.

| Ironically Europe is one election where there is some proportionality for those who have bothered to vote. Even if you end up with racist crack pots.

| For the high profile TV presenters amongst us. When you sniff coke off the tits of a prostitute in the employ of the News of the World, this is where it ultimately ends up.
Angus Deayton. This is all your fault.
Read and take notes, Mick.

Johnson, Putin, Trump. And an increasing likelihood of one of the Le Pennes in France.
Not exactly the team-mates you would choose if you were going on Eggheads...

| The reaction from the champagne socialists has been despicable. Calling everyone who voted Leave a racist, misinformed, uneducated, the list goes on. They should be ashamed of themselves. It seems they don't have a clue what democracy is.

I'm not a socialist at all, I'm a disenfranchised Liberal Democrat. And with absolute certainty can say those that voted to leave fall into one or more of those categories.
I fail to see why it's somehow undemocratic to think 51% of you are cretins. Democracy is about allowing people their say, not about agreeing with them.

I wasn't referring to you individually, sir.
It's also very undemocratic to spit one's dummy out when things don't go one's way. Now is the time to stick together, not continue to sling mud at each other.

Democracy is about agreeing or disagreeing. Not insulting people with petty insults just because they have a different opinion to you.
Sadly respect has gone out of political discussions as too many people cannot accept that others have different opinions to them and then start trading petty insults.

I've just had to explain what scaremongering is to someone who accused me of it.
You see when you are saying things bad may happen thats scaremongering, but when you show someone the 10% fall in the FTSE in the first 10 minutes of trading today thats not scaremongering, its fact. And it IS scary.
He then called me a bigot.

I realise you were talking generically. I was just pointing out that the remain voters are a broad church not exclusively "champagne socialists".
I still don't quite follow why it is undemocratic to disagree with a democratic decision. For example, I believe that democracy is absolute and every person has a right to be heard. On that basis I firmly believe that the BNP and other right parties have a democratic right to stand for election.
It is equally my right to consider those that subsequently vote for them to be muppets. There's nothing un-democratic about that.

No it isn't. It's about allowing everyone in society a voice. Agreeing or disagreeing has nothing to do with it.

99 times out of a 100 I will accept the times when I disagree with a point of view, and retain a grudging respect for those holding the opposite view.
This is the single biggest issue in my life to date where I know in my heart of hearts that there is no valid reason to leaving the EU, and that the decision is bat crazy.
I am, on this one issue, a quintessential bigot. If I look it up in the dictionary "a person who is intolerant towards those holding different opinions." then yes that's me. I admit it.

| The leader of Turkey has stated that(before the referendum on the EU) if they do not get a decision about their entry into the EU by the 30th. Of June.the Turkish government will issue the relevant paperwork to the "refugees" in Turkey, some 5 million plus to be able to swamp the EU. I for one am glad that now, they will not be coming here. The plans also for the EU army will not now include the British forces which would have been governed by EU rules. There are a lot of things detremental to the UK that the MSM never wrote about in the press. Personally glad its over now, hopefully the NHS and pensions etc will be a main priority now for the new government coming in soon. Please dont come back at me for writing these things, take time, look and see what was really in store for this Great Country if we had have stayed in. Some of you may be shocked. Take care, and now on the beating Fax this weekend.

People should be able to vote for who they choose, but some people are just too ignorant to be allowed to vote.

You really don't have a clue do you?
If you did, you would be well aware of my views on Sturgeon and her flock. She will be delighted at the result as Indyref 2 is now a formality. So, thanks to voters outside my country I face the prospect of Independence for the rest of the UK, which horrifies me completely.
Oh, and "pseudo-Jock?" Care to explain what you mean by this? Because that makes you sound like a bit of a bigot?

I have not bought into any story, the facts are, these "refugees" have caused havoc in Germany and Sweden, and they would have done here too, or do you think the German and Swedish press are just buying into a story? Grow up.

Good answer, thanks for putting the time into it.. You did miss one detail. Are we still signatories to the 1951 Refugee Convention?
