| I've nothing more to add that I didn't post in the "Relegation" thread the other week. I'm amazed how we can suffer a club record defeat and I can just brush it off.

From what I have read mainly on social media, we still have some pretty delusional sections of support who think we will sign some superstars to get out of this hole.

I just want some evidence of basic competency first. Aussie superstars can come along later All areas of the team, defence, attack, some control in the ruck, some respect for possession, an understanding of territorial kicking ( that's you Gale/Gaskell/Addy) and line speed (usually learnt between ages 10-16, but strangely lacking the last few weeks).
The coaching staff are meant to facilitate/encourage these skills. So I could do with some on-field evidence of competence of their abilities as well.
I assume we're still using the sports psychiatrist we teamed up with, so he's got his work cut out.
It'll be interesting to see the priorities which come out of Ferres' root & branch review of all areas. He needs to come to some conclusions ASAP.

Demote Cummins back to assistant and bring Noble in for Head Coach.

| I didn't go today so can't comment but after Salford and Leeds -the way I see it- the players need to forget about results and score lines and only care about completion rates, handling errors and missed tackles before worrying about anything else. All three stats are woeful at the moment. There is absolutely no way on earth they'll compete with anyone without getting the basics right. Things like players offloading the ball in their own twenty. Was it Leeds where they scored off the back of Kear an Purtell trying to keep the ball alive on a kick return off our own line? Fakir takes the ball in returning a goal line drop out. More iterested in running over the top of the first defender drops the ball onthe first tackle. He should have been thinking about one thing and one thing only - hanging into the ball- given he's looked totally out of shape and had only played about five minutes a half up until that point.
Some of the stuff they played in the cup game should have had alarm bells ringing. Looking back it was obvious that that style of play wouldn't win games against full timers.
It's almost as if they are panicking all the time and don't have any confidence in the game plan.
Diskin has been around the block he should be screaming at them to make sure they stay with it and just run out their sets first and foremost. Gale too if es vice captain he needs to start thinking about what he does with his kick options. The number of times he should have booted it into touch against Salford to stall the game. That game was in hindsight there for the taking but we were so far off the par in terms of decision making and defence.

| I feel sorry for Cummins. Leeds and Wigan in 4 days with that squad is impossible.
It's easy to look at his decisions but where are the signings? What do Green and Ferres expect to happen sending an academy side to Wigan?
I'm not sure FC is the right man. There's big questions over the 7 shirt and, why the props look so light and defensive line speed.
But where's the support for the bloke?

| Quote ="jammle"John Kear, Matty Elliott, Brian Noble all seem a much better bet than Cummins, who has quite obviously nothing more to offer.
I would like Elliott back as first choice, with possibly Lowes and Morrison as his assistants.
Get Scruton back from Wakey as he's getting bagged by their fans every week, and would probably jump at it to come back now we are more stable.
Look at a good aussie stand off or scrum half (preferably in the Trent Barrett mould), to steer us around, Give gale a run at Dewsbury (if they will have him).
Otherwise we are resigned to Championship next season.
I really can't see any other option.'"
Alright bud? Long time....
One comment, Kear, Noble and Elliot are all unemployed/not in top jobs (SL or NRL), and baring Elliot they have limited experience over the last few years in a top job....
No one touches Noble - why?
Why has Kear languisghed at Batley for a few years?
Elliot - Resigned before being booted!
Why haven't Kear/noble been snapped up by other SL clubs?? Same with Mr Karl Harrison..... too expensive? doubtful

| I would hope that, now easter is over with, we can at the very least use up all of our loan places in the squad.
We're allowed 5, we currently only have 1.
Get on the blower to Hudds and try and get Mullally back, see if Leeds will loan us Bailey (needs must) and maybe even Clarkson too. Then I'd give Wane a call and see if he has anyone going spare. Burke may be over his dislocated shoulder now, or if not him someone else!
We won't be making any permanent signings I don't think, quite simply because there isn't anyone available.
As far as I'm aware we still can't sign any overseas players because of the new company/visa issues.
The only chance of any permanent signings would be championship/lower grade players.

Did we really send an academe by squad to Wigan? Our starting line up:
1. Kearney
2. Kear
3. Henry
4. Purtell
5. Wood
6. Gaskell
7. Gale
8. Nas
9. O'brien
10. Fakir
11. Olbison
12. Walker
13. Addy
Pretty old academy squad. Only Wood is an academy player

Wigan had half their first team OUT.God knows what the score would have been if they had been at full strength.

FERRES OFFERS PUBLIC APOLOGY
pic
22nd April 2014
MANAGING director Steve Ferres has expressed an apology following yesterday's defeat at the hands of Super League champions Wigan Warriors.
Ferres, who was appointed last month following the club's takeover, has moved to thank supporters for their continual backing.
In a statement, he said: “On behalf of Bradford Bulls, I would like to apologise for what was a truly woeful and embarrassing display, yesterday, against Wigan Warriors.
“It was, without any doubt, the worst performance I have seen by a Super League side – and one of the worst I have ever seen.
“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all the supporters who gave up a bank holiday, despite the busy Easter Weekend traffic, and made the strenuous journey over the Pennines.
“Our loyal supporters stuck with the team throughout the course of what was a tortuous 80 minutes.
“The squad has hit a low point and a route and branch review of what went wrong, why it happened and where we are going is now underway.
“The board of directors accept they have inherited a squad, which has been stripped of talent and hampered by injuries.
“But that cannot be used as an excuse for what happened at the DW Stadium.
“The club's new owner, Marc Green, is working tirelessly to improve its fortunes. In our sport, I have never met anyone as committed to turning something around.
“Supporters can rest assured that no stone will be left unturned as Mr Green and his team address the problems currently facing the club.
“At this stage, all we ask is for you, our fantastic supporters, to work with us and remain as committed as you have always been.
“We are commited to again making this club something for you, the supporters, to be proud of."

Yes. Indeed. I'm glad the board are speaking out at their disgust but let's see something positive done about it. A review? That's not going to help us next week.

Agreed. The board making an apology will hopefully have an effect of the squad. Strong words from the board. We don't have a magic wand or a bottomless pit of cash. For me I see this has the board making it known they are not happy with recent performances. If this doesn't spurr them into action then I agree heads must roll. I see this ads the board giving Cummins a chance to rectify this as a reward for his loyalty. The next two games will decide his fate IMO. But at least the board aren't silent unlike the Hood regime in McNamara years
