As far as I am aware British people choosing to live in other countries & receive the benefit of their services don't have to speak the native language. Unless you call talking slowly in a loud, patronising English voice speaking the lingo. As a matter of interest Roger, how many of these foreigners coming here to claim our very generous benefits & wonderful health service do you actually know?

Didn't Hull KR put out a statement recently saying that their two PNG signings may not end up coming, due to similar visa problems? Something about them having to wait ages for their visas, meaning they'll miss all of pre-season?

Would stand to reason that Mexico is having the same issue. A shame if we can't take him on though, as it would solve the current issue of the lack of prop cover, and they can justify it by saying he is Winterstein's replacement (since the club did say anyone leaving would be replaced).

It could but as suggested by Broadybull, an enrolment as a student is a legitimate solution if the visa also gives a right to work.

Depends on what the reason was that the two kr were after couldn't get visas. If article linked is correct Mexico hasn't been refused he just can't take English speaking test for a few weeks. That's probably not a bad thing from our POV as I'd assume we don't have to start paying him until he arrives and we don't actually need him until one of existing props picks up a knock.

Some girlyball team seems to have a manager who's been here about 3 years yet can't speak a word of English. They should call discrimination.

I think the majority are EU nationals anyway so it isn't relevant, also if they have strong working credentials ie. have performed at the highest level, that would probably also overrule any of the minor details like speaking English - it's hardly going to rule them out of a job when they have been specifically invited here to take up a contract.
