| I also assume that the club were more than happy to accept the money from the cost of the shirt printing too? Therefore they will happily take the coin but then try and act all innocent?
What a bunch of hypocrites.

| Quote ="Bradford Badger"One would expect that the players "tweets" will also shortly be regulated. Some of the language is pretty poor, and given the age of some of the players followers, you would hope that this would also be addressed if they are not going to be seen as giving certain people preferential treatment or casting a blind eye to it.
If there is more to the dismissal, then the club should indicate this is the case. However, if it is purely all about a couple of tweets, then I'm sure the guy who was removed can pull off SEVERAL of the players tweets that could be deemed to be bringing the club or game into disrepute'"
Agree completely. I can't help but wonder if the club have made a rod for their own backs here. Lets hope the players have been reminded of their responsibilities and what is acceptable. Other wise it might be one of our top players who makes the next error of judgement and surely everyone has to be treated evenly?
Sadly I fear that eventually players tweets may end up being made private which would be a huge shame for everyone.

And if it is not the real reason then the "excuse" is ridiculous. Either way......
The Honeymoon period is well and truly over for Mr Khan I am afraid.

| One of the best employees the club has ever had IMO. Shame they let him go over something so stupid.
Was he offering too much of a good service or something?

| Looks like there's probably more to the sacking than meets the eye so can't really comment on that. But posting that picture although probably meant in the right spirit was a bit of a gaff from a senior manager while the club is In discussion about getting a superleague licence back.

| There in an unsavory taste about this sacking of an employee who has a decent rep within the fans.
If OK is to communicate he needs to explain this in more. detail

| Clearly must be more to this than meets the eye.
Quite possible that the guy may have forgotten where his allegiances lay, and that he was being paid (assuming he was, and was not another "volunteer"icon_wink.gif to work for the club not the customers? But, even if that was to be the case, this is looking like another self-inflicted wound, I fear? Would he have gone had he been there lomg enough to take the club to a tribunal for unfair dismissal?
We none of us know the facts though, so speculation is not helpful and may be downright counterproductive. But someone said earlier that the honeymoon period is over, and IMO it would be sad indeed if today led to that.

The official kowtowing to Sod Hall and "el presidente" Never have happend in the Caisley or Hood tenures
www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/s ... s/?ref=rss
The phrase poor performance perhaps should read was too honest with regards the quality of stock in public!
It was an obvious excuse to get rid but thats a Management ploy, nothing changes in that respect!

| As Adeybull says there could be other issues here, but employment is a highly regulated area, and I don't think coming into work to find the locks on your office have been changed could be said to be part of a correct disciplinary process? or unless it says otherwise in a contract of employment that being what our Prime Minister would describe as a Twitter "t**t" would be grounds for summary dismissal?
Whatever the real reasons are behind this it doesn't seem to have been handled very well by the club - where was our glamourous in house spin doctor?

| To be fair, there are quite a few reasons why everything can't just be dumped into the public domain, ranging through our prurience not being sufficiently good reason, having a duty of confidentiality to their [exemployee and not wanting to prejudice any future legal action which may arise and indeed, not attract any other unwelcome action from the employee concerned.
Dirty washing in public is never a good idea but you can't just gather it all back in again, so what goes public stays public, and the club need to address the mess, which seems to be entirely of its own making.

| Well I do hope that Chris is reading this and is encouraged by a lot of the support that he is getting. Quite frankly I reckon that this is pretty ridiculous and it APPEARS that it really is no more than a storm in a teacup for me, from the evidence that I have read.
Great decision this by the club. After a bright new beginning we have now managed to p!$s off different sections of our support twice in just a couple of weeks. What a laughing stock we are.
And to the club officials who are eary-wigging on here, read the thread and see what your supporters thought of the gentleman in question. Over the last few years we have employed ex-convicts on the playing field and tried to sign a convicted wife beater (and would have succeeded if the visa was granted) yet a fairly (from what it appears) minor issue is now sackable?
Shameful.

| Just read the article in the T&A.
I'm shocked to read that he turned up for work as normal and the locks had been changed?
Is that even allowed? I suppose it's the Clubs property so they can do what they like perhaps but that just seems a MASSIVE over reaction?
Really am shocked by all of this.
All the club has to do is read through these 9 pages and see how much support there is for Chris and that’s BEFORE this happened.

The problem in the modern world is that sites like this are the public domain - so if you don't get a honest clear story out immediatley everyone will be speculating, and advancing their own agendas. It would be nice to think we lived in a rational world were people sought all the evidence, weighed it up carefully, and came to their own conclusion but in reality the vast majority simply believe without question what they hear first about an issue - or believe things to be true by virtue of the amount of times they are repeated - a method you might have noticed is used frequently by our political friends. That is why I would recommend a bit of considered thought before "sending for the locksmith" might have avoided this particular storm.
ps while I clearly don't agree with the sentiment printed on the shirt which started this, and think the Rhinos are fine, upstanding and worthy opponents I do hope we give them a sound thrashing tonight!!!!!!

| Have to say that I am kinda glad I started this thread now and WHEN I started it. At least it shows that this is not a knee-jerk reaction of "fawning" praise after the horse has bolted but more the proof that the guy was held in very high esteem from people before this took place. Maybe I am a mystic after all?
It certainly will not do his reputation any harm.
Come to think of it, I work in recruitment. I will happily give him a job.

Indeed. As I suspect is true for a lot of people he and the people on the turnstiles have so far been my only contact with anyone associated with the new regime and I thought he was excellent.

| On his twitter page he had a pic showing an away shirt printed with Bulls 1 and the Bulls is along one of the blue hoops and I genuinely thought this was the offending pic.

| The thing is though that there is nothing even remotely offensive about the print on the shirt anyway! Why anyone could take offence and actually be taken seriously is a complete joke.
As an aside, I trust the club have done the decent thing and refunded the shirt owner the tenner it cost to print? Seeing as they are taking such a moral high ground. Perhaps one of their club moles on here could confirm that this has indeed been done?

| can guarantee there will be at least a dozen people wearing shirts of various vintages with we 8 rhinos on the back on any given home matchday. Are club going to refuse them entry?
Or is this just an excuse for a political decision to get rid of shop guy after he was vocal in his criticsm of the sale debacle at the the last home game? (Which I believe was the ill thought out brainwave of one of the directors).

| If the club are seriously suggesting that "poor performance" was the reason for his dismissal then they are clearly living on cloud cuckoo land. I realise that I started this thread but I have to say that never before have I ever seen a thread dedicated to a person connected to a club who was not a member of the playing staff, coaches or directors etc. I started this specifically for a reason and the following posts seem to more than vindicate that I was right to do so.
To suggest then, "poor performance" in the shop seems to be completely at odds with what the paying customers seem to have been saying and commenting on.
This bright new era now has a massive cloud over it for me. I had hoped that the fabrications and half-truths (being generous) of the last regime would be a thing of the past. Sadly it still seems that we are still being sold down the river. Do the club think that we really are that thick?
(I will add here, once again, that my views are formed completely from what has has been reported. Of course there may be other issues behind the scenes but, if true, this has not been revealed.)
Mr Khan needs to come out now and clear this matter up. What a spectacular PR disaster this has been. Still, given who is still in his post in the PR area, this is hardly a surprise.

| If the term "we 8 rhinos" is so offensive that it results in the removal of someone's livelihood, surely the club should look at where the offending merchandise was printed and paid for...........oh, that will be the club then!!
