I'm not making any decisions on any players, new or otherwise, in this team for a good while yet.

To be honest, I think if we're in the playoffs come seasons end it will be a remarkable achievement taking into account not only the number of changes, but also the injuries we've been hit with.

As I said on Sunday, it's going to be hard for the team to gel when there's no consistancy.

Wasn't aimed at any specific individual. Also, if anyone were to go back through my posts over the years I don't think you'll find anywhere where I have said people have no right to comment. I've certainly disagreed with comments that have been made, and I've said that some comments aren't helpful to the club which the writers actually follow, but that ain't the same, is it?

However, all this "unhelpful to the club" stuff is just a load of bo!!ocks. Players and staff alike are happy to accept all the praise and adulation when things are going well. They should be able to take the criticism when it is warranted also IMO, otherwise they are clearly in the wrong profession.

Candidates, yes. There were a few, IIRC. I said it wasn't aimed specifically at you (or any single individual) and it wasn't, so don't be so paranoid. There is an old Yorkshire saying though, about if the cap fits then you may as well wear it? Jeez, all this fuss about a throwaway remark.

You mentioned that "people have the right to complain" in a reply to my earlier post, which suggested, if not said outright, that you felt I had. Glad to clear that up.

We've discussed whether the old criticisms were warranted, or not, dozens of times before and to be honest neither of us is going to change their respective position. The rest of us though, have moved on; it's a dead argument, a discussion from a bygone age, it's over. To be honest Mystic, you can keep it going forever I guess, but I've kept away from it since last year, and I'm not getting drawn into it again.

yes. he's the main attacking option in our team and will continue to create tries for us.

although if we start spreading the ball wider instead of expecting 2nd rowers to crash on to the ball then our (in theory) will be cashing in on more assists.

There's no reason why not.

Fair enough, he's still a fairly new half over here and the opposition maybe haven't worked him out yet, but as he works regularly with his team mates he'll only improve. The quicker we can get Briggs back in at 6 and Kearney back at fullback, the sooner that process can continue and the sooner we can kick on, for my money.

Thanks Bullseye, and a couple of posts down below comparing Herbert and Deacon, for some good points. Coaches, RL or otherwise, work on stats first, not prejudices, and will work with the players accordingly to improve those stats. OK Baby Face was an organiser, but is the scrum half the only position that can organise in RL? Andy Farrell at LF was a pretty good organiser, so I say that someone with that ratio of assists and number of tackles can expect one of his team mates to be doing the organisation, otherwise what the F are they doing?

But only when the forwards laid the foundation?

Is that not the main basis for any half back organiser? They play off the pack?

Hopefully we will see a dazzling performance from him tonight although I'm sure some people will find another person to have a good old moan about........

Indeed, but nowadays most Friday aways are as much use to me as a chocolate teapot, and sadly I won't getaway from work till after 7, so the agenda is a couple at the FC which is not FC as in "Hull" but FC as in "Fighting Cock". While there we'll phone the curry order in and pick it up on 't way home.
