F*ck off
Seriously, we're going round and round in circles here and it's clear nobody's opinion is going to change. Some people think the club have knacked up, some people are more willing to give them the benefit of the doubt in the absence of any facts.
I for one can't really be bothered repeating myself over and over again so will leave it there and agree to disagree on this particular matter.

| Well if they'd produced them in traditional hoops with the colours in the right order I might have been bothered.
Funny thing is that it's like hark back to the 80s when we never had enough replica jerseys in. I remember having to wait months for mine back then. There was never any doubt I'd get one though, I just got one later.

| I've been posting on here since the official bulls board was taken downand I've never been so annoyed. I made quite a reasoned and polite post which I thought added to the topic of discussion. In return, I have been insulted by a person who respons using starred expletives and winks.
This used to be a place of genuine discussion. Now its going the same way as the T&A comment boxes. ie, agree with me or I will use offensive language. I think Ive had enuogh.
I apologise to the majority, especially Adey, who althuogh Ive never met him seems a decent bloke who will have a proper discussion, and agree to disagree, but some people on here are downright rude .

my original comment still applies - have you seen wigans away effort? almost as bad as the home one
and hull kr are pretty certain to have away shirt in stock as they only launched it last week!.
seriously though anyone considered effect pledge campaign will have had on shirt stocks. bearing in mind shirts will have been ordered well before we knew how succesful it would be? and also considering lead/delivery times if we're getting new stocks in 2-3wks then they will have ordered 2nd batch early december just after ticket deadline anyway.
At end of day if worst thing people can find to complain about this year is having to wait a few weeks to get a shirt then it will be a vast improvement on last few years.

I know but just think about two weeks on Sunday Matt.
11,000 season ticket holders all turning up for the Wigan (many didn't the pre season games) and say 30% of them all wanting to have a look in the club shop and purchase a shirt.
This is lost revenue to the club.

| Only lost revenue if they take the huff and dont buy a shirt at all. Most people will be reasonable and just get one when they are back in stock. We should be pleased that we sold out and had to order more IMO.

It depends how many we placed in the first batch but yes I agree it's all positive news and those in this thread huffing and puffing will just have to wait for the fresh batch to arrive.

| Obviously there's those of us that think the club are right - making sure they don't overstock and lose money, and those who think the club should make sure they have the shirts in at all times.
The club would probably lose a certain amount of revenue either way, but I trust Duckett would know which is best.
However, instead of us arguing it on here, if it bothers people that much then e-mail the club and see what they have to say. Maybe if they realise how much of a problem some fans view it as they may look at different options. I'm sure Stuart or Ryan would be happy to e-mail you back if you want to get your point across.

theres a fairly important difference between the two possible situations. If the club doesnt order enough shirts then it misses out on Potential revenue.
If it over orders and has to sell shirts at a loss then it is losing money it already has in the bank.
Whilst you would hope we would maximise our income streams we should risk losing money already in the bank to do it. Think its a pretty unique set of circumstances this year due to the large increase in support base wanting a shirt combined with late release in squad numbers (due to sheer number of incoming player/orford situation) causing a abnormal buying pattern.
Hopefully club will learn lessons and situation won't be repeated, although I still dont see it as such a big issue overall.

| Can I just suggest - again - people think about when the order for the initial shirts shipment will have had to have been placed? perhaps using a possible scenario:
Assume - say - 1 December on the shelves in the Bulls store it was close to that date, wasn't it?)
Assume they are made in the Far East (if made nearer, then we can shorten the timeframe).
Work back through lead times of what MAY have been the process (been involved in importing containers from round the world for years, so i've a reasonable idea of the process):
Checking sorting and making ready for sale at Bulls
Delivering from warehouse to Bulls and unloading
Sorting out Bulls stuff ex the container, and organising for shipping to bradford
Unloading container at central warehouse
Delivery of container from port to to central warehouse somewhere
Arrival at port and time to clear customs etc
Blue water shipment from (say) Chinese port
Loading and formalities at (say) Chinese port
Shipment from factory to port
Checking/QA at factory and loading - with stuff for OTHER recipients - into container at factory
Production run at factory (along with runs for otehr recipients)
Materials procurement for manufacture at factory
Factory schedule production run
Kooga place order of factory
=#400000Bulls agree requirements with Kooga.
Shirt designs finalised.
Put some timelines on each of those steps (I may have missed a few out).
I reckon the bare MINIMUM time you would need between order and availability in store would be at least two months. They will be over a month on the water. Say more like about ten weeks minimum. In that case, the club would have had to agree requirements with Kooga by around mid-September.
Now then, cast your minds back to mid-September. the pledge campaign launched on 23/8. the deadline was 4/10. We were about halfway through. At that point, IIRC, the momentum appeared to have stalled a bit and it was far from certain the target would be achieved. And if it was NOT achieved, how many season ticket holders would we have been looking forward to? Not 10,000. 5,000?? Any ideas?
And yet, on my scenario, the club would have had to make the decision on how many to order - and what range of sizes - at precisely that point of major uncertainty.
This is only a potential scenario. But I suggest a plausible one? And, on that scenario, would people still think the club had no excuses and were "amateurish" if they did not get the order quantities fairly close? Or if the club chose a path of prudence given the uncertainty? And, if so, how would they support that argument?
The above is only a scenario - I have no idea at present what the actual course of events and timelines were. And the caveat of course is that if the lead time was significantly shorter than I have theorised - e.g the stock was manufactured much nearer the UK or was (surely not?) airfreighted - then the argument becomes weaker.

Might depend on the tone of your email? "...And everything else to go with it"? If you had a rant, you're less likley to get a reasoned reply?

| didnt have a rant in any way. i just put that i was banking on ordering an away shirt in size medium and wasnt happy that i had to wait 6 weeks or longer.
i then just asked what the rough date was that there would be anyore in stock because when i rung the shop there was a female in there and she didnt have a clue due to her covering the shop in the managers absence.
