Lol, when I was much younger and played cricket in the SS League, we used to keep a name permanently registered, just for the odd guy we pulled from the pub to make the numbers up. I forget the name we used ( it was along time ago..) but that name must have been on our register for 50 years back then, and 90 years by now if the team is still going, 'cos I doubt they've changed it...

If only he (ie. the one at the time) hadn't "muckied his ticket" when getting into a discussion about the team with the umpire when he was standing at the non-striker's end when batting. The umpire was a bit worried about his mental state as he "didn't seem to know one player from another", or "even who the captain was", as I recall. Not really surprising as he only actually knew the one team member who pulled him out of the pub, and he only knew [ihim [/ias Des. Fortunately he got out, very shortly afterwards, without troubling the scorers and the conversation ended.
