I suspect both will play. To be honest, unless he's going to have a late fitness check, there's little point in adding them to the squad if he has no serious intention of playing them. As has been pointed out, we did well enough without them last week, so it's hardly 'make or break' that they play.

I agree that briggs needs a run, but equally Herbert needs a run behind a full complement pack with a regular half back partner which hes not really had. so it might just be that in a game or so he does come back in, the interesting thing will be whether its for Jeffries or Briggs, as his original position was stand off not scrum half.

Just seen Franks post - if thats correct then potter is going for a more creative LF than a defensive, SO lets hope that he plays as well as Brad Mackay who amongst other things had a great short passing game and got the tackles in.

If sibbit goes out to centre and the rest of the pack are reshuffled yes it could be done and have the talented loose forward we have in the squad on the pitch tho he would be out of position so if Frank is right then Herbert may be on the bench as sub LF after Jamie has done his job. FRANK is Herbert playing the whole game according to your source?

But I still prefer mine for its lack of changes from last week and just about everybody playing in their primary position, whatever Potter thinks. And if he does read this blog then it must be to send himself to sleep at night, tho how wetting the bed with lafter would help that I dont know.

depends if you class langley as a talented loose forward. Personally I consider him to be more of a 2nd row these days. I'd prefer addy or donaldson at loose before langley but seeing as neither is in squad I'd like to see what herbert can do there. It may be a disaster, but on the other hand it could work out and that gives us interesting possibilities for next year. This year has shown the need for having more than just the starting 2 halfs in the squad. But you arent going to get a decent half prepared to come to a club to fill a backup role and only play the occasional game, especially given the shortage of halves in game in general and demand those available are in. If you can find a half capable of playing in one of the other creative positions as well then it opens up intereting possibilities in terms of creating competition for places and covering injuries.

Not certain, he played u20s last week and was in the review as having had a good game.

it makes no sense having forwards in the centres and playing sykes on the wing. sykes is a centre and has barely played there, if he is going to put him in the squad atm, allow him to play in the centre. if not, play a winger on the wing

It does make sense if Potter is trying to keep it as close as possible to the Wigan team but prefers Sykes experience to Crookes youth.
