I presume you mean that they got all their entitlement rather than it being given to the other clubs like last year. There was no parachute money as such. The amout was based on finishing position last year and it was much less than SL clubs but much more than many Championship clubs.

| I think you are mixing up Wakefield being allowed to spend to the Super League limit and Wakefield actually having money.

| They've had enough money to pay off several players contracts in full (about 3months worth) and then sign several players extra for those 3 months.
With the increased central funding next year in sl, definitely worth speculating though

Unless people are lying you had a spare 80k to throw into a kitty at the start of the year. If you're not spending the cap and had left over cash is be asking Carter what he's doing. Seen as you've bought tickets to spend the season as a laughing stock before beating teams from the division below.

Perhaps if you'd gone and supported the team you allegedly support you'd have got a glimpse of the team we bought the ST to watch in the first place. No doubt your fans will be watching your full time side including ex superdooper league and NRL players what can't live with proper superdooper league teams hammer the part timers again next season with a bit of luck that is, instead of worrying about our finances you'd be better of worrying about yours and buy some decent players, keep your chin up old boy.

The clue was in the word Boycott. Look it up.
If we can't live with superleague teams it's something we've got in common with you chumps.
Well done though beating a side that spends half as much as you in players. That's a big achievement you should use it to chat up the ladies.

The first comment in my wakefield away thread mentions it. I said I was interested to see how we would go against a side spending nearly a million more than us on players
At no point have I mentioned we'd beat wakefield and if you go back three weeks I pointed out that there is no way that wakefield wouldn't be playing superleague next year.
Don't worry the good people of wakefield will be turning up on their tens again next year to whine and moan about councillor Box. Whilst the team slump from one defeat to another. While we might be in the Chanpiknship again but it's better than getting thumped every week

As someone on our (Leigh) forum has pointed out, we "only" (!) have to beat the other three Championship sides to appear in the 4th v 5th play-off. That still applies equally to you guys.

It seems to me that the Bradford fans are still talking about how hard done they are, a bit like last year, when they were moaning about being short changed.
Don't think the Bradford line up has changed that much from the one that beat us home and away last year.
The only thing that has changed is Lowes honeymoon period has ended and when things aren't going well, he buys another player.
Bradford got a big squad and no U21s to play them in.

| The stark reality is that Bradford are now a 'small' team, in the lower division and suffer the same disadvantages that all the other championship teams have had to.
Wakefield were in the same position in 1998 and managed to crawl out and then survive at the higher level despite all the odds. Best you can hope is that you take your chance when the opportunity arrives.
Bleat all you want, nobody is listening, and nobody has ever listened.

| Can I just say that regardless of who won last weekend, and regardless of who has SL status or not, I'd much rather be a Bull.
Imagine supporting a dying club in a stadium that's falling apart where your only taste of success was a play off spot in 2004. I've supported a team of World Champions in my lifetime. You've won one f*cking game Wakey after an absolute joke of a season! Go back to your holes!

It's quite amazing the way Rugby league fans will rear up to Defend their club, Bradford fans are to be admired , They got used to being the big boy in the league and thumping just about everybody, with a mostly New Zealand team ( at one time.)
Since then they have been Duped , defrauded, ridiculed and degraded by various people at the club, They play in a dump of a stadium ( not the fans fault ) with it seems little chance of ever progressing to anything better.
They are now having to get used to life at a lower level in League ( which can't be easy, having been where they have been), yet they are still supporting their team in good numbers, Presumably with the dream of rising again.
Good luck to them I say, and for what it's worth same to Wakey, They have not had it easy ( again not the fans fault ) They have beaten some poor odds to survive, and who would back against them doing it again.
I find it quite amusing the way they are quite happy to attack their own club, or the people running it, but will not tolerate it from other fans.
League fans really are a breed apart.

It always seemed to me that the only way a championship club would be promoted under the new format would be if a SL club had a meltdown season, became stranded at the foot of the table and fell into disarray. It never occured to me that such a team could then replace most of the team and effectively start afresh in the Middle 8s.
I know we have brought in new players, which also seems to be not quite right. But the ability to replace most of the team just seems to be the final nail in the coffin for the promotion prospects of championship clubs.

It is the "siege mentality". Perfected by me and my fellow Scotsmen.
We know we are shiiiiiiiiiiite and we will happily put ourselves down. Should others do the same then they will face the wrath.
