But then he was a late arrival so Potter was already there when he was signed

| Wasn't at the game but would really like to hear peoples thoughts on the HB pairing today, was Herbert and BJ as strong as Briggs and BJ? Was Herbert's game better with a better pack? I only listened on the radio so am in no position to make judgement really but from what what I heard I'm not sure Herbert and BJ is our best option at HB?
But perhaps rather than dropping Briggs Potter wanted to see Herbert and BJ together whilst the team is doing well and I guess against Quins would be the best time to trial it out. Will be interesting to see what team is announced for Saints.

| hmm it is a funny one , i reckon now he spends more time with him like in training and stuff he has just simply changed his mind on him and doesnt rate him any more , either that or he might have a stinking attitude that potter doesnt like!!? its all guess work isnt isnt it really but is definately strange to drop him when he has been steadily improving

Dunno. Panic buy perhaps because we could not get Pryce and we needed another half-back? Why also offer Sykes a three year deal? People make mistakes. Clearly Mr Potter is trying to correct his mistake.

| He mght also simply have a cold or other ailment, minor injury, or maybe Potter just thought that Herbert was a better option for this game.

Jeffries was fine, didnt think Herbert did enough, again.

| Two points. Two points we had to get to have a chance of the playoffs.
I don't really give a toss how we got them, or who the head coach picked to get the points, I am just so glad we did.
We have three very interesting games coming up. Stains hammered a Leeds side that did a Bulls and fell apart in the second half. A big ask, but we are at home so nothing is impossible. And I will be on hols in Cyprus - in the bloody air while we play - so what's the betting I miss the game of the year for us? Hull we HAVE to beat - it is the mother of a four-pointer. Leeds away? I have a weird feeling we might just do it. I'll be back for that one.
Three losses and probably season over. Get some wins out of the next three and it's game on.

| Have to agree, Im away next week too so have a feelinG I will miss our game of the year. If we are at full strength I can see us matching Hull at home, Leeds too even though its away we have come within a whisker of beating them twice already this season. I know a lot of people have put Potter down saying he gets us playing the same game as Mcnamara but I just couldnt have seen us edging out a close game like today under Mcnamara, he has definitely helped drill some resilience into our defence.

| Greetings from rural West Ireland. Have no idea about what happened in the game but I like the score line. Well done boys.
Lets do it at home next week, we will never get a better chance against Saints. Nice to get two wins in a row though. It's been a while!
Now another Guninness I think.

He's not doing anything really flashy (except for his break and assist for Ah Vans first), but as Burgess said in this weeks blog he's excellent at set plays and it's no coincidence we look like an organised side now we have Jeffries.
I'll hold my hand up and say I wasn't happy with re-signing him, but he's proving me wrong especially with the influence he's had on the whole team. (I'm not suggesting it's all down to him, but along with Royston he's brought some composure to the side when we had none earlier in the season)

| Also - anyone think that high shot on Herbert was terrible? Maybe I caught it at a bad angle but it looked a shocker to me.

| After listening to the London commentary it seemed as if Quins had much more possession and our defence coped pretty well. From those present, was this the case or did Quins just make poor choices and mistakes?

A bit of both. We were more solid than in many games but not perfect. The try they scored from the kick off was a defensive shambles. But we defended our line well before Whitehead's try which was the funniest I've seen for a long time.

I'll take more solid. Prior to the Wigan game we conceded over 30 points 9 times from 15 games which was shocking. Maybe something has clicked with the players adapting to a new structure?

| Quins were territorially the better team. Bulls scored a nice try from about 70 out when Jeffries broke through out of half back after a dominant contact by the Bulls. The second was a 90 metre try where Quins put a great kick chase in and had your left winger a metre or so from his line and he broke free and scored!!. You scored a crash over 1 min into the second half and a bizarre 80 metre try from us messing about on a 6 tackle play which originated from your line. The final score was a drop out from us chasing the game. Tried a short one which didn't work.
Your team looked big but not that fit. No creativity at all. Herbert was poor. Jeffries was Jeffires trying to get through the line(I quite like him as a player). Saw very little from your centres to be honest
In summary a strange game played by 2 poor sides to be honest-Very hot day.
Good luck for the rest of the season. I spoke with your 9 after the game and he said the halves need to link better and we (your players) need to stop making excuses

Almost as weird as the build up was the fact Quins let a second row run fifty+ metres and the nearest man to him when he put the ball down was Thierrry Allibert. Fair enough it was pretty central but where was the cover from the wings? (not that I [ireally[/i care)

| Both sides did not play well, loads of errors. Quins had more possession but squandered their chances. In the second half close to our line they blew 5 kicks to our in goal.
One went straight to a defender and 4 ran dead.
Real turning points.

| Why do opposition fans always say things like " you are poor, we were just worse" just accept that we were better than you on the day. Bulls did enough for the result and played some nice rugby via Jeffries. Bulls did enough because Quins didnt ask enough questions, a Salford fan made the same remarks last week and the response was the same. Bulls were better than your team.

Last time we played Jeffries at SO with Deacs at SH. This time Jeffries is the Scrum-half. It is obviously his better position

TBH, if we can play poorly and still come away with 2 points at the end of the day then I'm happy for us to continue to play poorly
