Well I sincerely hope I am wrong then. But if it is a serious injury then I'm afraid that there's no way he should be getting a new contract.

If it is a serious injury then you would like to think that the Bulls wouldn't renew the contrac t of a player who they are clearly not getting good value for money for.

Perhaps you could supply a list of players as good or better than Glenn who definitely won't be injured next season.

You can't say who will be injured or not, they can happen to anybody, but it's got to be sending alarm bells ringing, that Morrison is picking up injury after injury and missing losts of games for us. As for better or as good as Glenn, there are many forwards available every single year that can do the job as good and better than him, one of them was on show today that we could have chased instead of offering an injury prone oldie a new deal. Ironically, he tore us a new a$$hole this afternoon.

A question was asked the other day about how important is Morrison too us.

2007 we won 60% of our games with him and 75% of our games with out him.

2008 we won 40% of our games with him and 55% of our games with out him.

2009 we won 28% of our games with him and 50% of our games with out him.

Glenn has a rib cartilage injury. Would have thought he'll be out for a couple of weeks.

He's a good player, but he's certainley not as important, good and irreplaceable to us as some seem to think he is.

Whilst you cannot tell who is going to be injured or not in advance, I would say that it was safe to predict that, given Morrisons' injury record over the last three seasons, he is more likely to spend time on the treatment table than most.

Morrison is more like a tampon than ever these days.

Morrison has made over 250 career appearances, not exactly a career blighted by recurring injury.

He is not injury prone in the accepted medical sense ie he does have a physical problem that makes him more prone to injury than other athletes.

His recent injuries have not been age related, of the "wear and tear" type that do happen to players of his age.

He does have a very physical approach, we could do with a few more players of that ilk. And he has been very unlucky recently.

He'll be out for longer than that if he's done that

Morrison has made 264 league appearance plus 4 rep apps. Compare that to, say, Keiron Cunningham who is younger but also no stranger to the treatment table. KC has 419 club apps and 23 rep apps.

Or Keith Senior who is the same age - 439 club apps and 41 rep apps.

Or even Steve Menzies who also spent practically all his career down under. 18 months older, but his 364 club appearance plus 35 rep apps are considerably more.

As good as Morrison is, (and there is no doubt that he is very good), he is not much use sitting in the stands and taking up an assumed decent pay packet that could be better spent elsewhere.

I'm not sure comparing NRL stats to SL is a fair comparison. They play less games down under. Also Cunningham it would appear made his debut in 93, Senior in 95, Menzies 93 and Morrison in 96 if Wikipedia is accurate.

Hence why I used Menzies as an example and mentioned that he played practically all his career down under.

Who according to Wiki started playing 3 years before Morrison. He has had his injuries but he's hardly a crock! Morrison is a very influential player and when he is fit he is usually among our top players. Hopefully his latest knock will not be too long term so he can prove he isn't finish just yet. Another 12 months helping somebody like Whitehead to progress could be a very good thing for us.

Averaging 27.62 games a season

I never said he wasn't though. In fact, quite the opposite.

It just strikes me that he is too often on the treatment table than not. However, we are all entitled to our own opinion.

But those stats mean little unless you differentiate between whether Morrison was unavailable due to injury or just not picked. Either way, if I had a crystal ball that said Morrison will play 18-20 games next year, I'd sign him up for anothr 12 months.

If the playing records of Cunningham, Senior & Menzies set the benchmark, there are an awful lot of players whose careers have been blighted by injury.
