Some very ordinary players have appeared in Grand Finals and Cup Finals ,yet some great have never had any honours , John Woods being one ,having graced the Leigh,Warrington,and Bradford teams never playing at Wembley yet some have been to Wembley many times.

I would have Gaskell in my team ahead of Brierley all the time. Brierley is a pretty decent player playing in a very good team where as Gaskell is an excellent player playing in a pretty average team.

have a word with yourself ,look at his speed , ball handling skills try scoring, he can kick goals ,given the choice between the 2 I would have Brierley in the Fax team anytime, unfortunately it won't happen.

An interesting debate here ,no doubt Gaskell is a very good player but add injury prone to his other undoubted talents , for me Ryan B will put on a show to convince you of his on Sunday.

He's not injury prone, he had his jaw broken by being smashed in the face off the ball with an elbow.

I agree an injury like this cannot be helped , but he did have a lot of minor injuries when he was at Saints.Again I'm not doubting his playing talents though.

Well, Gaskell said that he was targeting the game against Leigh for his comeback. So either he's still not fit, or Lowes has decided to not risk him until the middle 8's. Now, personally, I think option 2 is a much better idea because, as I've said elsewhere, the next two games mean nothing

Agree with that, but there is also the argument that, after so long out, both Lee and Harry will probably need a couple of games to get 'match fit'.

Well I'm not sure regarding Gaskell. His fitness level shouldn't have dropped that much given where he was injured as he should still be able to train to a degree just not any contact training

As for Siejka, it's less his physical fitness but more his fitness to pull on the shirt that I'm more concerned about

I actually thought Ridyard's kicking game in the first half was pretty good but it wasn't his best game. Ryan Brierley was very quiet today.

On Gaskell, I wouldn't play him against Halifax. We got the draw today against a more or less full strength Leigh side without half-backs, and second place is ours. I'd rest him up and make sure he's fully fit for the Middle 8s. The same goes for Mullaney.

I have posted just that, on another thread. Both came off limping during the Featherstone game, the previous week. Perhaps they are both feeling the strain of a long season, having only missed 2/3 games between them. Or, of course, it could be that, given the possession the Bulls enjoyed, you gave them a lot to do, defensively.

He will be a great acquisition for Leigh next year. Would have transformed either team today.
