Not sure how people can moan about the lack of injury updates.

Every week I ask John Kear for updates on the injury front and he takes the time to answer those questions at great length for the benefit of the supporters listening on the radio.

Perhaps it would be better just to say that you can hear an injuries update after each weekly interview I do with John Kear, anyway, here's the current situation...

Good news on the Covid-19 front, no more positive tests yesterday.

In the current era, if the club wants to keep fans engaged then it can’t rely on radio as the only channel for supporters to get updates.

If the half back we were meant to be getting was Keyes, it may be on hold with a further 8 players testing positive for Covid and their next two games postponed.

It is now looking very unlikely that we are going to see a new arrival in the halves before the Widnes game. It's slightly concerning that other teams have managed to strengthen their squads yet we still haven't managed to get anyone in.

Not everyone listens to the radio Mick. This wasnt a dig at you so put your dummy back in. It would be good if the club could publish something every few weeks to keep ALL fans updated not just your precious listeners.

I usually listen back on social media but MDJ and Levvy havnt been specifically mentioned for a while now. Ebon Scurr wasnt even mentioned in this weeks interview.

Iv'e said for years Rugby League should adopt the same system as the NFL have to release the status of all injured players, This is broken down into categories Questionable, Doubtful, Out or game day decision.

As much as we'd like to know we have no automatic right to that information.

If the player says he doesn't want the world to know then the club can't do anything about that without risking fines under the Data Protection Act.

Health is classified as Special Category data by the Information Commissioners Office so if the player says 'no' that's it. There is no necessary reason to process the data (send it out to the fans) that will over-ride.

I know as fans it's frustrating but the players have a right to privacy and not everyone wants to live their life on Instagram 'Smashing a Nando's' or giving a thumbs up in a hospital recovery room?

Seems Jack Sanderson has had an injury, he tweeted his foot is due to come out of protective boot soon. I’d not heard of this one

Me too. I've been moaning for ages about Sanderson not getting in the squad. Communication to us that pay the wages is poor at times.

Great news! Works well for Keyes, Bradford and Hull KR. He was instrumental in our creative attack against Batley.

so instead of getting a player for 2 weeks (and knowing they will be here for 2 weeks) ... its going to be a week to week job, call mr old fashioned but a recall after a week (and no time to fill said position) is still gonna put us in the "toilet" and absolutely no time to fill THEE most important position of any side. Keyes is a good player and this position needs more guarantees.

Not sure how fit Jowitt is but if he's not fit then we really need to go with Race.

Keyes could be recalled at any moment so I don't think another loan will do us any good. Won't get a better opportunity to blood him than against the team second from bottom.

He's HKR's player though and they are the ones paying the bulk of his wages We're the beggars - and if they want him back, then back he'll have to go. The guarantee is that if KR don't need him he can stay. It's a guarantee that's full of holes but it is what it is.

The last Kear interview had him back “slightly” before Brough. So another 5-6 weeks maybe?

It's a difficult one to be honest.

He's not wanted at the moment by KR, so assuming they don't get any injuries he probably may not be wanted all season. For us, I'd rather see Keyes, a proven half, in the side than a kid who maybe isn't ready yet. IMO if we're bothered about this season then Keyes, if available to us, is the better short term option. Young Race can get his chances as and when, and hopefully without the pressure of us 'depending' too much on the outcome of his early first team efforts.

too true .... but as we have Keyes and no Lilley, I was really aiming at the next game and who will partner him? well we arnt the coach (wots Danny Addy up to these days, he can fill in anywhere
