| [list=[/list Quote ="HamsterChops"For a few games I've been bemoaning Macani not backing himself. In the first half there was an opportunity and he didn't go for it again, I was raging. Then he did. And bloody hell did he. Twice. More please.'"
He had no right to score either but did. The first one he looked caught for all the money in the world but hit another gear and the couldn't love with it. His second no idea how he got to it but that was all about wanting it.
Big win that today. The fact it was a four pointer, the fact the result and score line must kill any confidence that Dewsbury had left. 6 points off safety we can win more than three matches more than Swinton and Dews I know we can. The fact we've beaten them both is massive we have to win matches like that. Two more four pointers coming up now.

| Was that half time talk something real special or did the penny just drop?
We had some good players out (Bentley, Thomas, Peltier, Pryce etc) yet we somehow put in a second half that in my opinion was the best rugby we've played for god knows how many games.
If I was Toovey (oops I mean Beattie) I'd be thinking about leaving Pryce on the bench.
I accept Dewsbury wilted in the second half but our B-team were something special.
MOM was a toss up between a few but Campbell and Murray stood out

| Lets not kid ourselves the first half was beyond poor, amateurish even!
In the last 30 mins we came to life and played well, if we did that against a good team we would have been dead and buried by that point.
It was a nice surprise though and I went away with a smile on my face.
We are very thin in the forwards and I think if we managed to get another couple of experienced lads on perm deals it would make all the difference.
Our back line is good imho, although Macani's defence leaves a lot to be desired, which again would be taken advantage of big time by the likes of KR or London.
Campbell was my MOM and needs to be in the starting line up week in week out again in my opinion.
I hope we can keep on improving week in week out and finish mid table, building for a big 2018 campaign, promotion is a very very distand dream but the £500k for a top four finish would be awesome for the club... This year we might even win the shield again!

| I'd still put Pryce in. We badly needed him that first half. Second half we were much improved. Macani's try straight from the kick-off literally took every bit of confidence from Dewsbury who then resorted to putting cheap shots on us. Says a lot about the coaching last year that Campbell didn't get a look in while we persisted with Blythe on the wing. Last year we would have lost that game. Even with the lack of forwards and size, we look a much better team than last year which says everything.
The touch judges shouldn't be paid either for their efforts yesterday. I know they can be an easy scapegoat but they literally did nothing at all yesterday. Our firs two trieds were blatant forward passes IMO. I don't think one was called all game. Lilley nearly getting decapitated by Walshaw and none of them had a clue what happened. Awful challenge. And then Alex Browns grubby facial/gouge on Ethan Ryan right under the lines-mans nose and he just ignored it. Oh and the 3 should charges to the head on a held player that they all missed every single time.

Just heard that after a review the RFL have decided that Bradford Bulls will now only receive 1 point for a win and have two points deducted for a loss.

| The transformation from the first half to second was unbelievable and totally out of the blue, but breathtaking. This season's Bulls are becoming the big surprise in our division imo - and who would have thunk it!
Too many good games to pick out individuals, though Murray and Camlbell (go Johnny go) were outstanding even in that crowd. I think Omari Caro also deserves a special mention, on his first game back after injury and in a new position he didn't look out of place one bit - and took his try like a good, pacy, bullocking second row ought to do - a new star is born!

Why is it, that after reading, I didn't just laugh straight away and think,"that's [ireally[/i funny", but instead, paused, and thought for a full couple of seconds about whether it might actually be true or not?
I've decided it's probably not..

| The turnaround was pretty spectacular since we were second best in the first half and for the first 5-10 minutes of the second. The back to back tries really broke Dewsbury’s spirit and you could see their body language change. Once their discipline went it was really just a case of “how many” for us.
It’ll be interesting to see what comes of the incident that went on report. Hewar waved play on and allowed Magrin’s try but in back play it looked like Lilley was taken out and there was a bit of push and shove – not sure if any punches were thrown.
I didn’t think the ref had a bad game however I thought the touch judge on the popular side in the second half was a bit slow. There was a blatant knee to Larroyer’s head that was so obvious yet was missed by the touchie. He must have been looking elsewhere.
Campbell’s performance at fullback and Macani’s two tries (both crackers) make selection a bit of a headache with Caro back and Thomas not far off. I thought Caro went ok in the second row but I’m not sure that’s a permanent move. I think Bentley will come straight back in there. I was impressed again by Wilkinson’s workload. He’ll be another good one when he fills out. He took his try well (albeit of a pass that was well forward).

| We are building a team for the future with the young lads, just need a few older heads to give the right balance,
Leons experience was missed a bit yesterday, and Scott Moore's was invaluable, in 3 or 4 years time if we keep our young lads and develop them we will be awesome..

| Keeping them depends on getting promoted. If, by next season, we aren't looking likely to go up (and with the current system that is [ivery[/i unlikely), then I feel more of them will quite rightly find other ways to reach a higher level. It's a short life as a pro sportsman and you can't waste your best years on sentiment.

| Think if we stay up then we need to be getting in the top 4 next season. If we manage that we may well hang onto many of our younger lads since they'll be getting regular games and get the chance to play vs SL opposition (at least until they move the goalposts again).

If we want promotion i reckon it will be top 2 we'll need to aim for. I reckon the eights will be scrapped. 14 team SL. Top 2 of championship and bottom 2 of SL then have a play-off for place in SL.

We are nowhere near being able to contest for promotion. Let's not get ahead of ourselves and just make it through this season. If we manage that, then we build gradually.
Even if franchising does come back, we have no right to demand a place considering how badly our owners at the time managed to screw things up the last time we had one.

| Indeed. Let's aim for top 4 next season. That's something we failed to achieve last year remember.
We'll need to recruit well if we stay up as a lot of our players will either be retiring or going to their parent clubs.

I think we need to recruit well now, in order to stay up..(2 forwards)...our lads now are doing a good enough job a little cover and experience would be a nice luxury.
another point of note if Toovey's Visa is to be sorted this week, I would take it that Phoenix will be on his way too..

| I'm sure we're trying to recruit some permanent signings.
I suspect the most well known free agents (Bailey and Harrison) won’t come cheap. As has been said before Bailey would be good if he was 100% committed but could be an expensive waste if he wasn’t. Harrison would be decent, provided he was over his injuries. We don’t want any crocks.
Aside from those two I’d say we may be better looking overseas or just waiting to see who becomes available after Easter. It may also be the case we need a hooker before long but I hope not.
If we stop up we’re going to need at least 3 props, 2 backrowers and a halfback. That’s quite a shopping list.

| Recruiting for next season will be really difficult. We should use loans as best we can. Get in early and ask if we can take players like Lilley, Oledski and Murray on full seasons, or at least next year's versions of them.
Ideally I would like to keep all the above for as long as possible but it's probably not going to happen so best start looking and planning now.
Harrison would be a great signing this season as he plays all over the pack, stick him into the backrower and take the pressure from young players like Wilkinson and Bentley. They've done really well, but they will benefit from a rest as well. Obviously can't break the bank for him but if he wants to get his career back on track then we could be a good shout for him, I suspect it will be Leigh or Hull Kingston however.
Scott Moore, would love him signed up, provides so much direction.

| Another nice surprise yesterday was Caro at 2nd row, a big strong quick lad..he looked more useful there than on the wing.
And who doesn't need a 2nd row forward that can go the full length?

| I'd be on the phone to Warrington trying to get Ben Julien on loan for a while. Same with Philbin although he's on the fringes of the first team so he'd probably be more unlikely.
Julien is a very good young player though and would go well in the second row or loose for us (I think he played in the centres for Wire's 19s recently).
