| Not a big fan of BGT myself, but I can tell you that if the Bulls had Diversity as the entertainment, at least two members of my family would be coming to the match.
OK, its not exactly much of a sample, but just saying....
Maybe we should book Susan Boyle

| Most new fans really rate the pre-match stuff at Odsal even though there's less of it nowadays (no face painters, bouncy castles etc).
Us longer standing fans have seen it all before so it's a bit more old hat.

As mentioned elsewhere Bradford are building from the bottom up. It is strongly rumoured that starting with next season we are looking at during the match entertainment.

| Quote ="Ferocious Aardvark"To complete the picture:
a) how many kids/adults comprise this few hundred
b) how much extra ticket money is that
c) how much is the 'spend' on this extensive promotion
d) how much is Diversity's fee
Before you ask I'm not knocking them, it's a positive and good move, but I doubt it's a path to riches, in fact I'd say on balance it's bound to cost them money. I doubt we'd be doing anything that doesn't have a "+" on the cash side of the equation just now, however 'popular''"
Maybe they wouldn't make money on that day, but whats to say that the people that attend a game for the first time won't fall in love with the experience as a whole, and become regular supporters?

We'll probably get mullered and it'd most likely rain. Therefore they'd hate the experience.

| I remember watching 'Chico' at Wakey in the opener a couple of years ago, after he had made a name for himself on xfactor. Unfortunately it didn't appear to increase your home attendances by that much, although it was mildy amusing watching him yell 'i can't hear' whilst his backing track bellowed out of crackly speakers in the pouring rain.
Given that or the choice of local kids doing High School Musical, a welsh male voice choir or some of the other stuff I've seen at odsal this year I don't think this is too much of a problem at the moment. The Saints fan I brought to Odsal thought it was amazing we could wash our hands after going to the gents!
Good luck with it anyway, thought Diversity were brilliant on tv despite hating Simon Cowell and everything he stands for...

You haven't been to a home match this year then. Sorry, I didn't know.

| I've made dozens of suggestions on this, as has MBBB remember the MC Wiggy campaign
The club are too afraid to try something that will bring the punters in like Neromania day, players naked run for most missed tackles in a month etc etc

Stuart Duffy eventually stopped replying to my emails and the letter from his solicitor means I'm not able to talk to him over the phone about it.
So the club are clearly happy with the general deteriation of the pre-match entertainment.

| I am liking the idea of themed-player days at the matches though.
A Worrlord day, when everyone wears a helmet, Neromania, we all don togas. Beaver-bash, when everyone....

| how much does it actually cost for us to give away a thousand tickets to schools for a game?
Can't we get all the local schools to have a banner competition and they all bring them to a specific game - will get loads of kids in the ground - have the face painting and the bouncy castles etc and suddenly you'll have a few hundred kids going home pestering their parents to come to the Bulls again.
Isn't that pretty much how we got "Bull-Mania" off the ground in the first place?
Nothing else seems to be working - why not have a re-launch of the tried and tested? Dont' need to do it every game but we could certainly select a few games to do this on.

That's a good idea. To complement it why not have 50s theme where a talentless plonker in a Fonz jacket grabs the microphone & instructs the schoolchildren what to sing?

I`m not sure why they stopped the bouncy castles and face painting, dancing competition with the Bullettes etc, it surely can`t have cost [ithat [/imuch. There has been a definite drop off in the younger end coming to the stadium over recent times and the loss of these attractions has to be in the mix of reasons.
Fair enough some have complained about `the same old entertainment` but these things are aimed at the very young, many of whom won`t have seen it before and we get new kids every year coming for the first time. Maybe there are insurance issues over the bucking bronco ride and bouncy castle (I certainly wouldn`t be surprised these days) but these things did work and there is no reason why they won`t work again.

I fear we'd be reported to Esther Rantzen unless we agreed to let the kids out before the match started.

It doesn't cost anything does it?
The Bulls do this, they send first teamers around the schools and give all the kids tickets. Parents still need to pay though, which is where the problem is!
FWIW, I think this is a good move, get the people in the ground, fill the stadium and then some of them might start coming back.

| The only costs I can think of are the additional potential stewarding costs - but realistically that is probably negligible.

I can vouch for the success of this - a few years ago my daughter got a free ticket to go to a Harlequins (I think) game so my wife and I went with her and all became addicted. From this free ticket, the club now benefit from selling 3 season tickets a year plus income from buying shirts etc.

They dont give tickets away now unless the kids are doing half time rugby.
They went to lads school on tuesday and they gave him a voucher for 2 adults and 2 kids for 20 punds.
