I find it annoying that while London have been sending us dross in recent times, we've sent them Jay Pitts and Adrian Purtell, both great players at Championship level.

Not so sure on Purtell, I always thought he was past it before he left us. Don't think he played all that much too last season due to injury.

Pitts though was an awful loss for us. Think I saw that he won an award for the Broncos too. Not sure if it was player of the year, forward of the year, players' players etc. but he won something.

We have lads coming through that will be at least as good as Pitts but we have missed his workrate even if he lacked a bit in size.

I think we've had some awful ones from Broncos, but also some not bad ones.

Think Jon Magrin went well last year for us and Joe Keyes I'm sure is one who will really look to establish himself this year too.

This season we have also got Matty Garside who on paper looks a great signing for us.

It's also worth pointing out we didn't send them Pitts

Paul Sykes you could probably argue we shafted each other on. Still remember to this day him being on loan from Bradford to London and him playing against us (think it was at Valley Parade). Threw one of his god awful centre passes to absolutely nobody that he did a lot later in this career for us, and everyone was convinced he was throwing the game because he technically belonged to the Bulls. He wasn't throwing it, he just couldn't pass straight.

You are right about Pitts. Broncos have just made him club captain.
Without doubt you have taken some poor players from London.

We’ve signed a few gems hidden amongst the dross though.

Paul Sykes for example (although he played for us originally) joined us and ended up being the lynchpin of the England team in the World Cup.
He played every position in one match.

Then there is Worrincy of course. What an athlete!

Rikki Sheriffe, for instance, he scored some good tries too, though we've had plenty others who looked decent on attack but left a bit to be desired when the other team had possession...

How dare you?!? Worrincy and Sheriffe scored the two tries that beat Leeds 10-6 at home in 2009.

Wasn’t it against Warrington? We let the kick off bounce and sheriffe jumped from the field to knock the ball forward from behind the dead ball line. An opposition player dived on it to score.

Whilst most people would focus on the negatives ie. it was poor defence leaving the ball to bounce, worse that it was left for an opisition player and worst of all terrible game management as it wouldn’t have avoided a drop out anyway. I would much rather focus on the amazing athleticism shown in order to palm the ball back into the field of player before landing in touch.

I've thought of that many times trying to work out exactly what he was hoping to achieve that would have been better than a drop out.
