| Not really anything to do with the pledge, but how funny was that Lulia clip they showed at half time?
What the f**k happened? Did I score? Brilliant!

He would have shifted more memberships than Gale and Sammut combined IMO.'"
Problem with that is that to offer Leon a competitive package to catalans we would have to pay significantly more than going rate for a player of his quality due to difference in tax laws between UK and France.

| I think it worked a treat to show the advert at half time with us winning.
Extremely disappointed with performance today which was very flat. 2012 can't come soon enough.
I just hope Mr Mumtaz enjoyed the game and now wants to invest in us.

I hope to God he does, maybe it would get Asians interested in the game too which would push us towards 15,000 season tickets!

I had my binoculars on him the whole time and unfortunately the thing he pulled from his pocket was a hanky to wipe his face after his half time tea.
We can all but hope.
Good call re: getting the massive Asian population hooked on the greatest game.
If we could just strike 5% of the local Asian community then crowds would go up by 1500.

It's a niche in the market which i'm surprised we haven't ever really tried to get involved at Bradford properly. Perhaps we should decrease the cost for gameday against Crusaders to entice people in to boost pledges if they like what they see of course.

I would like to see free entry for all at the game against Crusaders and then the team put in the performance of the year.
That would be guaranteed to generate pledges.

How do you make that out?
Given that virtually everyone in the ground will already be a season ticket holder, and if anything may be miffed that folk are being invited in for free so debasing their own membership?

| Quote ="M@islebugs"I don't think I do agree Adey. Wakefield and Widnes start the season having been into administration recently and have not disappeared into oblivion. In fact it' fair to say that both clubs are in their strongest position in
a generation It's possible to argue that the only way to sort out the weak BOD and fractured shareholding is by going into administration. It could further be
argued that by supporting the club we are merely extending the period of management which has sent us into the current tailspin (Wakey posters have
argued just such a point). That actually the club is fundamentally dysfunctional and the dangers of administration are less than the potential benefits. After the Crusaders debacle my view is that there is almost zero chance of the RFL
stripping the Bulls of its license and certainly not for Fax or Fev.
I would buy a season ticket if they cost £300 but for what it's worth I think the 2012 pledge will fail because a, it's rather complicated and b, there is the feeling abroad that there is a more deep rooted malaise that needs sorting
other than simply raising more money. The only person I can see sorting it is an administrator as the city as a whole has lost faith with the Bulls and whoever may own it. Which other clubs supporters has had to witness it's largest shareholder negotiating a deal to take the best young player in the comp away from the club? Maybe I'm depressed but they don't deserve support.'"
In fairness to Widnes, it was several years ago that they went under, because Tony Chambers sold his shares to a bandit (and I doubt he ever got paid either). When the bandit went off the scene, O'Connor bought it and put a lot of money into the club - they now joing the "sugar-daddied" list so are considerably better placed than we are.
The club could only go into administration if it was unable to pay its debts. Given it has few debts, what that would likely mean would be either a big bill from HMRC or running out of cash to pay ongoing payroll and other costs. IF that was to happen (not the place to speculate on this thread how likely that might be) then to get a "satisfactory" outcome you would need:
1 - Someone ready willing and able to buy the assets off the administrator - and if not a sugar daddy we would be little better off, I suggest?
2 - The Council willing to transfer the long lease to NewBulls - and not just taking the opportunity to reposess Odsal.
3 - The RFL giving consent to both the transaction and the new owner - just because they approved Wakey does not mean they wouild approve us: it IS the RFL we are talking about here, don't forget! When were they ever consistent? And especially if Fax had an improved business and License plan and agreed to take on Bulls players...
4 - All the creditors who did not get paid - probably HMRC, the Council, some shareholders and a load of small local businesses - not looking to stymie a deal by showing it did not provide the best deal for the creditors. Don't think it would go down well with a load of small businesses not getting paid, as would almost certainly happen.
We'd get a points deduction (at best) and derision across the game. And doubtless Hetherington would do his best to cause us as much grief as he possibly can again.
And then who might we get stepping in? Maybe it would present Caisley with a golden opportunity? As you know, I don't see that being the answer.
And I would pretty well guarantee that, as part of any deal to buy the assets off the administrator, we would end up at Valley Parade.
Not saying I disagree with your sentiments - the present ownership structure is untenable, and I think your previous conclusions in that regard have helped crystalise thought processes there. Just not at all sure that the administration route - if the circumstances rendered that either an option or a necesssity - would be anything otehr than a last resort? I think maybe that is what you are saying though?

| As an amber member I have still got 9 years left on my membership, however, I am wondering if next year’s numbers are achievable with the performance of the team, next year’s prices and the state of the economy, it may have been better to either, left the numbers the same as this year and raise the price or keep the price the same and raise the numbers. I believe we may get 8,000 and struggle to 9,000.

It was 1264 last night. We saw last year that it isn't a 'live' counter. That figure is probably just initial batch of electronic pledges that were quick to process. Would expect actual total is significantly higher.
Anyone know whether those who bought longterm memberships will count towards pledge total?

that has irked me a bit, if they can track all pledges then surely the first to pledge should be guaranteed the £75 price?

I suspect it is a case of "pledges are easy...but show us the money?" This tactic gets at least £187.5k (and will be more because of stand members) in pretty quickly. Suspect they may need it?

aye, I'm just hoping I won't be too late. it does mean I have to go to the club shop and stare at shirts for £10 too. I'm going to be in trouble when I get home.

Sorry Adey I'm quoting this post but replying to your earlier one as I'm on an iPad in the north east and can't quite work the thing out.
Anyways an excellent summary of the worst case scenario of administration, all of which are real perils, particularly not paying local businesses. Didn't Glover agree to pay some/all of these debts when he took over at Wakey much to his credit.
I think the following needs to be factored in alongside your analysis.
1, The pledge fails. This is a strong possibility in my view. Were we to start next season with a shortfall between projected income and commitments what is the responsibility of the board? Whether this is strictly speaking trading whilst insolvent I think Hood is too decent a bloke to run up bills without the money to pay them.
2, In this scenario, Hood would approach the shareholders for support. If he didn't get support he'd have to resign. A new board would be constituted but without significant financial support this is rearranging the chairs on the Titanic. You have suffered a breach of trust with Caisley, and believe him to be planning a return, but without financial support how would he not find himself in the same situation as the present board.
In a few weeks we shall see the support for the pledge and this will make things clearer. The status quo feels like 'managed decline' to the point our biggest asset, our support base is crumbling. The alternative is a leap into the unknown which you outline above. Walking home last night I'm really not sure which looks the worse.

All seem perfectly reasonable scenario points to factor in, to me.
And what that analysis also brings out increasingly clearly though, I suggest, is the importance of Pledge II?

| I work the other side of Skipton, so I've just bought mine online - hadn't seen it mentioned already in this thread but it seems to work - £75 + £2 surcharge for something or other. The only delivery option was Collection Only but the confirmation at the end it said season tickets would be posted. So we'll see...
Seemed to work fine though! Personally I'm not expecting them to get 12k so somewhat selfishly am buying at £75 now.
