| Quote ="Bully_Boxer"Pleased with this signing, I think he will go well at the Bulls. Like most on here, I now want to see Lynch and Menzies given new deals as a priority.
If Lynch does re-sign then perhaps we will see more of Sam at 2nd row/13. If that is the case, perhaps the club will need to let either Cook or Morrison leave. Surely we're now looking to bring in a half back and at least a couple of of backs?'"
Retain Lynch, Beaver and Newton. Morro should be let go, although a trooper and a quality player, he is becoming far too injury prone. I'd hope we are in the market for a FB or a centre and top priority a half back. Depending on how things work out, I think Tadulala may have to be let go and put Halley on that wing, but only if we get a FB. I hope Sheriffe trains hard for next season.

| I think we need to retain Semi for another year unless we can recruit another blockbusting winger. Sheriffe/Halley as our two wings will see us continue to struggle next year. I'd be tempted to see if we can offload Platt either on loan or permanently if space on the cap is needed.

I agree with the Platt scenario. I wish we hadn't signed Sheriffe on a 3yr contract. Personally I think Semi/Halley would be a good combination: One hard worker, and one with the speed to finish moves off. Sheriffe's handling is appalling. I'd hope a championship side would be interested in Platt.

It seems to me that Morrisons injuries are generally "heat of battle", due to the physical nature of rugby league and the way he plays the game. It doesnt seem to be a case of his body repeatedly letting him down comparable to Les or Solomona. If he's still competing to be our fastest player why let him go?

Exactly, Morrison gets injured cos his work rate is so high. If the players around him put in half the effort he does we'd not be were we are AND he'd likely get less injuries as he wouldn't need to push himself so hard. Even though I doubt that'd stop him. He doesn't seem the type to give less that 100% If he thinks he can go another year then hand him the deal

| We need to give Morro another go. We're a different team when he's on the field. He's too valuable to give up on that easily.

| Halfback - What are peoples opinions on Matty Smith from Celtic?
I think hes a decent player. Probably would go better with a world class half back partner but still I'd have him at Bradford. Good organiser, good kicking game. Thoughts?
PS. Has to be an improvement on Deacs

| Morrison has missed 24 of the last 40 games. If it was any one else with that injury record we'd be flabbergasted about the possibility of them being offered a new deal.

What is our win/lose record with him/without him?
That could be a better standard for measuring him against.

| id give morrison a 1 yr deal only if he could prove his fitness as there is no doubt of the talent he posseses but also his desire to win things.
lynch has to be top priority though. he has developed into one of the best props in sl and i would love to see lynch, hall and burgess starting in the bulls pack next year.
as for newton id let him go. for the salary i presume he is on, i dont think he offers enough, id prefer to see someone like hendo who would give us some real zip i just think newton is too pedestrian.

Newton has never quite lived up to my expectations and certainly offers little "zip" from dummy half these days. However, he has by far the best rugby brain in the playing squad, and unless we can add a lot of creativity at half-back (doubtful!), I'm not sure we could afford to lose that.
If we could improve the half-back situation, I might agree with you - on your proviso that we get "someone like Hendo". "Like" would have to include "as good as". In a sense, Godwin is "like" Hendo - but he's not as good as. However, who is - who would be available?

Agreed, Godwin is the "Hendo-alike" in the squad at the moment, a running dummy half. He may not be as good as Hendo but that's the spot in the squad he has.
As for Newton, I wouldn't replace him unless the replacement is as good as him or better and there don't seem to be many decent candidates out there. We also have other areas of the team in more dire need of attention such as the backline.

No they seem to be all different problems which turn out to be very lengthy absences which IMO is a much worse scenario. If they were one or two week knocks fair enough but they always seem to be six weeks or over injuries.
