| from what i rememeber from the licence application OSV was going to be built around the bowl , with a seated stand placed over the Popular side covering a lower standing tier
the picutre is from the failed OSV proposal. (2002?)
However Hood has said that the the plans are flexable

Correct.
The picture isnt recent and instead the failed tesco driven scheme of 2002.

| Quote ="vbfg"It's the first time I've seen that picture I think but Hood has said in the past that the plans involved swinging the pitch through 90 degrees. I assumed from that the hole was getting filled in and a new structure was going on top. From the looks of that picture the hole is getting filled in and becoming a car park whilst the stadium is where the hospital was.'"
I think thats about right, lifting and rotating the stadium gives you more "useful" real estate immediately around the pitch and stadium, so you can set the costs of filling in the hole against the savings of it being a subsequently easier build with more potential.
I think we have also reduced our demands capacity wise and seating wise over the course of feasibility to help cut costs.
But its all flexible and could change entirely by the next meeting.

good to see council is allocating money towards odsal project. First time I've heard a figure mentioned. Would the 15million be total cost including external grants or just the councils contribution?
willing to bet there'll be comments from city fans saying it would be cheaper to buy vp back and make us groundshare - which I suspect was partially the agenda behind teh story about them moving to odsal a couple of weeks back

| This seems quite big to me - that the council is announcing 'We're going to tax you more to pay for Odsal' suggests that they are prepared to weather the likely sh.tstorm from City/Cougar fans plus other 'I don't use it, why should I pay for it' types. Why would they bother to do this if they weren't serious, or at least semi-serious?

Did City ever pay for VP? Or was that one of many things written off when they went into admin?

Some of it was written off, the public certainly didn't have to fork out for it.

But they aren't going to tax more.
The article states that the £15m is being provided from money gained by the sale of the Airport. There won't be any extra tax burden on the Council tax payers.
At the same time though there won't be any less!
Using the windfall from the Airport to invest in capital schemes such as this and school rebuilding is, in my opinion, the correct thing to do.

Banque National de Paris? Don`t they sponsor the French open tennis. No, banks are odious institutions. A pox on all their houses I say.

| A very significant announcement this, looking forward to seeing the plans, one thing is for certain, its not quite the scheme it was. This now looks like a totally new build.
Great news.

I work for "NHS Estates" which incidentally is not the name anymore so I'll see what I can find out.

May not have any direct bearing, therefore?

| At the fans forum Peter Hood pulled out some plans of the OSV from his pocket and said that in the next few days we would hear something in the press, it has been over a month now and still nothing, is this because of the Bradford City groundsharing talks?

| City Supporters Trust would rather see us share with them down at VP. They are loking at getting the council to buy VP off Gibb and then persuade Bulls and City fans to club together to buy VP off the Council so it becomes owned by a kind of fans trust.
Sounds like an ideal solution for City as they get to stay at their spiritual home, get out of any costly rental agreement with Gibb and become masters of their own destiny at VP (to a point).
They do not see the point of a stadium at Odsal when one exists at VP and point to the cost that would be incurred by the council to build the OSV and knock down VP.
While OSV remains a possibility this idea is unlikely to get much support from Bulls supporters.

| From the looks of the messageboards I've seen, there's a significant section of City's support prepared to contemplate life away from VP. And many that are anti-Odsal seem to think it would be in the same state as it was the last time they were there.

| The BCFC Supporters Trust don't speak for the majority though.
From speaking to people about this issue I'd say the majority would rather have nothing to do with the inept council or the Bulls.

Do you speak for the majority then?
If the majority of City fans really do think as you say then fine.

| I get the impression City fans see themself as an Aire Valley side and so have more in common with the Cougars than they do with us.
