| Agree that Clough would be the most valuable returnee from injury for his work rate and refusal to take a backward step.
Not sure looking at Gaskell in the mpg is a fair comparison with now. He was carrying the hopes of the team pretty much on his shoulders, we have different options this year, maybe if fit a bench spot, although think with the heat will need 4 forwards there. Really glad it's not my call.

| I think the Gaskell call is actually very easy, not for me or other fans, but for Rohan Smith - who knows pretty much exactly where Gaskell is, both in terms of fitness, and in his head/attitude. If he is fit enough to play a substantial part, and plus if his head is in the right place, then you'd be pretty stupid not to play him. I mean, forget anything else, if it was down to you, and if you were confident that the real Gaskell would be on the pitch alongside Chisholm, then you'd have to be pretty bonkers to say, "yeh, but nah..."

| Does anyone know how many tickets we have been given / sold so far?
We keep hearing this "sold our initial allocation" line but if the initial allocation was only 300 its not that big a deal.
It would be great to know an actual figure
Id imagine Its going to be absolutely bouncing on Sunday

Don't seem to get the rub of the green with him.
1300 Bulls have sold according to Fev Twitter. Should be rocking.

| Quote ="Fev Website"Within minutes of the final whistle at Halifax on Sunday, club officials were being asked about arrangements for this weekend’s game with Bradford. A large crowd is expected and Bradford, prior to the Halifax game, had already requested 650 tickets for the match.
By close of business on Monday, this figure had doubled to 1300 and a further request this morning means that taking into account Rovers season ticket holders and sponsors, 2800 tickets have already been allocated for this game. The game is not all ticket but in order to ease congestion at the turnstiles, the club is recommending that fans purchase tickets in advance.
Since its introduction, the Ticket Office in the car park has coped successfully with crowds with up to 3000. However, in order to ensure that everybody is inside the stadium for the kick-off, pre-purchase of tickets for this game is advised. Admission to the game is £18.00 Adults, £ 12.00 Concessions and £5.00 Juniors.
For this game, the club will be introducing a £2.00 upgrade for supporters wishing to sit in the Strata Homes Stand or 70 metre stand. This charge will be payable inside the stadium and fans who wish to sit in these areas will be given a wrist band to allow access and egress to the bars, kiosks and toilets. Due to the large crowd expected at the Big Fella’s Stadium, fans are advised not to change ends at half time.
There will be no additional charge for supporters who wish to avail of the seating areas in the main and community stands, although certain areas of these stands will be reserved for participants in the pre-match and half time entertainment , together with sponsors and hospitality guests.
Everyone involved with Featherstone Rovers is working hard behind the scenes to make this a successful day, on and off the pitch, and we thank you, in advance, for your cooperation.'"

| Thaler did the controversial Batley draw. Hmm, that'll do this time!
I'm sure he did another game recently but I actually can't remember which it was.

I believe they're actually both on the same side. They added a second stand to the same side as the previous one. (To the left of where our fans were stood last year, and opposite side to where you enter).
I don't believe it means behind the sticks where we were last season.
Not 100% sure on that though, I'm sure a friendly Fev fan will confirm one way or t'other.

Probably more to do with the Bulls playing poorly that day. That includes the Batley game.

| Thaler is a good ref - he'll do for me.
As mentioned up the board he's a regular SL ref, so hopefully will ref it to SL specifications, whilst I know the rules are the same in every division, we all know they're not. Let's hope we haven't 'gone native' and give him any excuses to 'ping' us for anything daft. Which, I know, is a bit like expecting nice weather in summer..

| Happy with the appointment of Thaler, regardless of previous win rates while he's been in charge. This match is hugely important for both clubs and so I'm happy a Super League ref is taking the game.
I'm unsure about Gaskell. He and Chisholm as a partnership could be devastating, but Gaskell hasn't played for a long time now and I'm not sure if he'd be fit enough and sharp enough for a game that is likely to be very intense right from the start.

| If Gaskell is fit then we must play him at some point to try and get him fit again.
If we make it to the play offs we need to beat the three Ch. teams to get into the MPG.
If we did that and we ended up playing say HKR I would like a fully fit Gaskell and Chisholm at halves. He needs to play at some point. We would have beaten Leigh each time with Gaskell and Chisholm so for me he needs to be picked if fit.

Yes it's the new stands, and all I'd say is given the cost will still only be £20 I think Bradford fans would be on very slippery ground if they start trying to lecture other teams on "cashing in" given Bradford themselves have been happy to charge SL prices for Championship rugby.

Does that include the one behind the sticks that we were in last year then?
Incidentally, I won't argue with people criticising Bradford's prices. I myself have done it on more than one occasion this year (as an away fan, I wouldn't pay our prices). But charging people £2 extra because it's a bumper crowd is still taking the wee wee, even if our club also charges too much. Two wrongs do not make a right. It's also cheeky to put this out AFTER many people have bought tickets expecting to sit there.

Yes. It's the two new stands - that one and the one at the side of it. To be fair there are usually more Fev fans than away fans in those two stands though obviously we don't often get the number of away fans that Bradford bring.

Thanks for the info.
Gotta be honest, I think it's a tad out of order from the club. Not just for the away fans that would generally sit there, but also for home fans who probably sit there every home game. Screams of cashing in on what will be a large crowd. If I had a season ticket for one of those stands, I think I'd be contacting the club right now to complain.

The club is not in great financial shape. We have probably undercharged for those new stands ever since they opened (its the same to sit there as stand up). Yes it's cashing in, but Championship clubs need to cash in when they can as long as they are not doing so in an outrageous manner, and I think £20 for a seat at this game is fantastic value.

The actual cost isn't really the issue. It's waiting until you've sold a load of tickets before announcing it that's ripping people off.

| Halifax did this in '97, maybe '98. It was this year that I finally relented and visited again.
Just saying.
It's not the money. I happily pay more than this each time we pay at home. The full one too, I never buy a season ticket and never pre-book so I always pay the full £23.
It's the principle of "We have a price for you, and a price for everyone else".
Curiously, I have a reaction for that and a reaction for everything else.
