We have the smallest backroom staff in SL apparently - 5 or 6 including physio, FC and MSH. We're bound to suffer in comparison with the monied clubs. IMO the mistakes and penalties come from fatigue and players playing injured a lot of the time. With a fully fit squad we didn't make half as many brainfarts. We need our players to get some fitness, hopefully then the form will follow.

There's no way Tom's coming back. He's ripping up the NSW Cup atm and there's a good chance he's going to get a first grade game this year. Every time I see a South's home game the director cuts to a shot of him in the crowd. They're a media phenomenon over there.

I read the match reports from Tom's first 3 or 4 games for the bears and he was not getting any special mentions. TBH, the only times he was mentioned was for his persistent knock ons.

I hope he has improved over the last couple of months, but i was surprised to read the above article on how he is tearing it up in the reserve team.

Seems to be a common theme when a British player goes to oz. they can't catch,pass or tackle when they arrive but after a couple of months exposure to the 'superior' Australian coaching systems they miraculously improve and get rave reviews. Same happened with Sam and that ginner when they went over.

Regarding the 'ginner', i watched the bulldogs last game, and he was the best forward on the pitch, takes 2 balls in a set and makes decent yardage. Just hope the exports can produce the same performance when they put on an England jersey, as Sam, George and 'Ginner' should do well when on form!

Graham seems to really getting his teeth into the job since his enforced layoff.
