Quote ="Bulls Boy 2011"Probably would have got a lot more in if the pitch and terrace were £15-20, the stand was £20-25 and the Coral Stand was £25-30.

They'd get even more if it was free.
More still if they paid people a tenner to come.
And if each speccy was presented with a cheque for £10,000, then half the country would be there.
(can you see my point?)
To those whingeing about no marketing, "BRADFORD BULLS CONCERT ODSAL" produces 37000 google results of which the top one is a direct link to our event, and a Groupon link for discounted tickets.
Been on FB, twitter and emails. I think the marketing has been working very hard, so far as I can see.
www.groupon.co.uk/deals/sheffiel ... =1o1&nlp=1
Don';t know how accurate the percentages are, but here are the current deals:
One Standing Ticket
57% Discount - Save £19.50
Buy Price £15.00
Two Standing Tickets
58% Discount - Save £40.00
Buy Price £29.00
Two Seated Tickets
53% Discount - Save £44.00
Buy Price £39.00
These include 2 SEATED tickets @ £19.50 each so that kicks your pricing right into touch, doesn't it? Are you now going to applaud Bulls marketing for this?

| Quote ="bobsmyuncle"It appears now that little, if any, advertising or promotional activities have been made outside of the Bull's own web site towards the potential customers.'"
They have advertised on Real Radio during Sunday night's "High School Days", which plays exactly that sort of music. In fact, I think the event sponsors the radio show. That's exactly where they should advertise as it's a local station and the exact kind of music. However apart from that, I agree, I've seen very little except for CONSTANT twitter updates from various Bulls staff and directors advertising it. Why they need to send that out more than once, I've no idea, as you either follow them or you don't. Sending a tweet out every few hours isn't going to sell many more tickets.
It's a real odd situation with it. They've hit the marketing nail slap bang on the head with the Sunday night radio show sponsor, but they seem to have completely missed out anywhere else.
I hope it's successful for the good of the club, but I think if it isn't, perhaps lessons need to be learned rather than just abandoning the idea completely.

I don't mean to be rude, but this comment shows that you really don't understand marketing at all.

As I have already said, it is advertised very extensively, there are literally thousands of places. In what sense have they "completely missed out anywhere else" ? That sounds frankly a nonsensical claim.

I'm basing it purely on my own experience and having not seen it anywhere else. If I didn't occasionally tune in to Real Radio and wasn't a Bulls fan, I wouldn't know it was happening. I'm not the only one either as I know numerous other people that actually didn't know it was happening until I brought it up, all of whom live in Bradford.
I'm not interested in getting into an argument with someone who can't debate sensibly and instead just gets incredibly condescending (as you do frequently, I have noticed on this forum), so I'll leave it at that.

Nice.
I presume you went [iad hominem[/i because you can't debate your strange claim that one radio station apart "[ithey have completely missed out anywhere else[/i." I didn't ask for an argument, I suggested you can't back up that claim. If you can't, just say so. No need to be rude.

| I've only recently been sent the Groupon offer so clearly this is only a recent marketing idea, and perhaps one of slight desperation in a last ditch attempt to up the attendance? I mean I'd be well brassed off knowing I'd booked early and paid the full whack, only to then find I could have saved at least 50%!

| Pretty certain concert has been available on normal concert type booking sites for quite a while. Would imagine its standard procedure to try and shift any remaining tickets at a discounted rate in last week before event. If your prepared to wait and buy tickets at last minute you can usually get a bargain. Gamble is you might miss out if event sells out early.

Christ on a bike, it does really, really seem that whatever the Bulls did, and whichever way they did it, someone is gonna whinge about it. Look, if you thought it was worth the price you paid when you paid it, then it was. To you. So WHAT if someone else got it cheaper? If you ever spend some time on this planet, you will find that deals, discounts, sales and the like aren't actually unique to Bulls concerts.

| This thread seems to have become a text book example of the dangers of deflation in the economy. People don't buy because they think the price will drop.
Not my cup of tea 80's music - but for several hours entertainment by live musicians at seems reasonable value, and as f*****g Helen Mirren, our beloved f****g Queen pointed out recently you pay £100 for a London theatre ticket.

On a pedantic note - wasn't Elvis dead by the eighties, unless you mean Elvis Costello, I think he was still around in the eighties?

Must agree with that.
It does depend on just what floats your particular boat of course, and like you, I'm far from being an 'eighties fan' in general but every era has its aficionados so if you like the artists concerned it's good value and you can't knock the concept.

Wife's just got back from Morrisons and he was in front of her in the queue just after Lord Lucan. He then rode off on Shergar in the direction of Idle......

Got to admit, I'd have guessed he would have sent the butler to Waitrose but that pay day bonus must be big attraction, even to the well heeled - though, that said, I expect since he's been pretending to be dead, his pension has probably been stopped so he may be a bit down at heel these days?

OTOH, for perspective, the equivalent to selling out St. George's Hall for 3 nights.

| That's exactly what I was saying last night,if it turns out they sell about 6000, I don't think that's too bad for first go, and none of the acts are headline names anymore
It certainly won't ruin my night out on Saturday
I'm very much looking forward to it

Will be even better as I think they are showing the Carl Froch V Kessler fight in the VIP area or Coral stand after the concert.

| No.. Didnt make that one up... just what ive been told.. But also been told Andy Lynch could be back with us next year as well.
There will be a major signing announced in the next couple of weeks as I hear Diskin has been told where he stands.
