| Is Crookes really a better option on the wing than Ainscough?

Walker got quite a bit of praise for his performance in the Hull game. I don't think we'll go too badly on his side.

On the face of it my answer would be no, but, and it's an important BUT, I'm not the one who has been watching them in training.

| Crookes seemed to beat Tom Briscoe twice when we played Hull. Once attacking, he scored a full length and Briscoe didn't catch him. And once in defence, Briscoe went 50m, Crookes caught him but was unlucky with the tackle.

weren't bulk of hulls tries scored down purtell/crookes side as well though?

I think it was Purtell and Kear on the same wing.
The highlights vid shows Crookes outpacing Sharp for the intercept try. Briscoe comes across from the other wing but doesn't quite make it.
Similarly when Briscoe is on his way to the line, it is Crookes who comes across and actually gets to him, just a bit unlucky that he rolls off the tackle.

| Purtell and Kear mate. Most of the first 6 Hull tries were Kearney's fault. Then Jeffries, Sammut failed to tackle someone and Crookes did his best to try intercept and tackle Tickle at the same time. Didn't work and Tickle went in. Briscoe's try was Kearney and Hargreaves fault Crookes nearly cleaned up but like Nothus said he was unlucky that he rolled off.

| BBC Weather forecast Quote An AMBER WARNING of SNOW has been issued for northern, central and southeastern parts of England.
A band of wet weather over Northern Ireland and western Scotland early Saturday will move slowly east and southeastwards across the United Kingdom during the day. As it does so it will readily turn to sleet and snow away from western and southwestern coastal areas. Accumulations of 5-10cm are widely expected across northern, central, eastern and southeastern areas of England. The snow is expected to turn to rain over some northern areas later. As skies then clear in this area after dark, icy patches will develop. The public are advised that this is likely to lead to some travel disruption, and it is recommended to keep up to date with forecasts as the event approaches.
Valid from 1200 Saturday until 2359 Sunday.

| I was hoping the weather could benefit us, but this is total wipeout from the sound of it, 4 inches of snow on a pitch of concrete. sledging time, see how the go faster stripes and alloy runners on my sledge benefit its top speed. as for RL, looks like its watching the two W's swapping brown envelopes tonight

| TBH if game does get called off it could be in our best interests in terms of the season. Get the feeling that theirs a few players going into this game not 100% fit. A week extra could make difference between them aggravating the problem or making a full recovery.

| Its not in my best interest for the game to be called off. I wanna see the game and I imagine the players will be ready to play and not crying at injuries.

| For what it's worth, the BBC local forecast is currently (Sat AM) showing Bradford to catch some snow later today but to be dry for Sunday and no lower than -1 overnight with 3deg as the max through Sun.
Obviously we'll get what we get but it doesn't look disastrously bad according to that. Paul Hudson's graphics seemed to have Bradford pretty much on the edge of the snow, so let's hope we miss out and the curse of Odsal doesn't strike!. Not holding my breath though....

| Would imagine it would be disastrous for Catalan if the game had to be rescheduled, cant image the travel and accommodation costs are insignificant. And then having to potentially fly over again for a mid week game if a suitable weekend cannot be found.

Cant see them being too effective when it's this cold tbh. Both city and park avenue off. Not looking promising

They used to do two consecutive home and away fixtures to avoid some travelling, so (I've not checked) I guess they'll be over here next weekend too. If they have another Sunday game next weekend I guess they could play Monday or Tuesday without without too many problems, assuming all the other things can be put in place, like the police etc.

I'm surprised at City being off to be honest, they don't seem to miss many due to frost and it's not been [ithat[/i. cold especially (I would have thought) down near the town centre. It was only -2 in my back garden last night which is a good bit higher up than VP, though I confess not [iquite[/i up to the heights of Odsal.
The snow is forecast is to end late afternoon (and we've not had much so far, though again I'm in BD4, not Odsal) after that it's supposed to get warmer; I'm still hopeful!

could see why, Catalans won't have any fans coming and it's less salt to spread.
