| Quote Rogues Gallery="Rogues Gallery"As a fan who travels to almost every Wigan away game I hated Valley Parade.
We were sat almost at boot level in seats with very little legroom (and I'm only 5' 8"icon_wink.gif
We couldn't find any decent pubs near the ground, much prefer Odsal and the Red Lion on Manchester Road.'"
So

Then
Quote Rogues Gallery="Bulliac"To be honest, and I`m no lover of playing at VP, the one thing the ground has over Odsal is the number of pubs in `reasonable` vicinity of the ground. Confused from Wigan.

Dear confused.
The Bradford arms isn't as good or as close as the various pubs near Odsal. The top house is just a stones throw from the front gate (don't throw stones at the pub though)
Odsal has a lot of parking. VP doesn't.
Odsal is an open stadium. You can sit or stand anywhere you want. VP has a small away end and enforced segregation. Away fans all hated the cramped confines of the away end.
VP has stewards that nobody liked. They are shouty and grumpy. Odsal stewards are lovely (mostly)
Odsal is very easy to find as it's just at the end of the M606. You have to travel through Bradford to get to VP. A lot of away fans grumbled about the traffic in the Manningham area which is much closer to the town centre and has generally smaller and busier roads than the Odsal area.

| The VP stewards were my worst memory. They were often dowright rude, always officious and sometimes threatening for no reason.
They might have reason, or instructions from management, to treat football fans as cattle and presumed purpertrators of violence but IIRC there was no reason to do so whilst SL matches were played there.
This probably reflects more upon the general methods required to "monitor" a professional football game than a rugby one. This was pretty obvious in that our early matches at VP there was the usual large police presence expectant of a football match which later reduced to the normal staffing levels you would expect at Odsal.

| there is no transfer between stands at Valley parade. that also is the case at Hull, Hudds, Wigan as they too are football grounds. The "away end" at VP is segregated from the home fans by a roll of black netting.
theer is ample parking at VP as the 11000 + who go to City matches every other week will attest. If the Bulls go back there, i will post on here the names of 2 "private " clubs that have a wonderful welcoming atmosphere and would be only too happy to have you become members and/or drink there on matchdays, just like we do when City are at home. they are a 5 minute wak from the ground and offer good secure parking too.
I am both a City and a BUlls fan. Working together could be the way forward for both clubs. There are elements in both parties that dont like the idea of being resident in an area usually associated with the other. that is understandable. But history means very little if the clubs fold!
The stewarding was an issue last time around, but if people are sensible and understand that football grounds are governed by different rules than just RL grounds, then this can be overcome!
I loved being closer to the action, and the roof was welcome. before anybody asks, I live in Wibsey and walk to BUlls games!!

I used to live near the stadium and all the little local roads were double parked every home game. If there was so much parking I don't know where it could have been!
edit: From the [url=http://www.bradfordcityfc.co.uk/page/CoralWindowsStadium/0,,10266,00.htmlofficial club website[/url
"Supporters are advised that there is NO public car parking at the stadium on matchdays and there is very limited street parking."

| Quote Bully_Boxer="Bully_Boxer"[size=150The Shay[/size? Local stadium for 50% of the fans and good bus links to Huddersfield!

In all seriousness though is Dewsbury actually the best option? Obviously the Stadium does not currently meet SL standard nor is it big enough. Is the pitch good enough for SL.. never been in the summer months! Is the adequate parking space for +8K fans in the surrounding area?
If we can solve some of the above problems and it still be more cost effective than VP then I'd much prefer to be watching the Bulls there! Plus I'd rather help line the pockets of a RL club than any other person or organisation.'"
You could do worse. When the stand is completed (february 2010) the capacity will certainly suffice for any of your games (Leeds at a push), the playing surface is excellent, the view is superb and close to the action.
however as it is shared by both HRLF and FCHalifax there would be no real possibility of fitting three playing teams sharing, at the beginning and end of our season.

And it`s fairly close to the Three Pigeons and close enough (for me ) to the Pump Room, two wonderful reasons for going to the Shay.............
Guess that`s me convinced
