I thought we didn't need to put a clause in because it was RFL policy that clubs who nurtured a player up to a certain point get an amount of money for every subsequent transfer up to a certain age? Might be totally misremembering but I'm sure I read that somewhere.

Atkins is quality.

Another great Bradford youngster who we couldnt develop. He goes to Wakey, gets coached by a proper coach and becomes a great player.

Our coaches dont know a good player when they see one.
He is certainly a better centre than Nero, Platt, Sykes or Crookes.
He is even better at centre than Menzies is now.

But we let the good ones go. Everyone watch how great Cooke becomes at Hull KR with a proper coach !!!

Yes, but a pretty ordinary sort of quality.
He left because he wasn`t good enough to break into the side, and despite what anyone says he was given the chance. He left as fourth or fifth in the pecking order for a centre spot.

In fact it`s exactly what the salary cap is designed to do. He`s improved by playing more regularly, which is only to be expected and he`s got a couple of England caps, which on a personal level I`m pleased for him about. We`re no where near as strong now as we were when he left but if we`d re-signed him I still wouldn`t be exactly ecstatic.
