| How long can we keep being fed that same old drivel, that "we will get it right"?
The player's are clearly not performing consistantly each week,so we either get shut of them or we get shut of the coach, the thing is we cant even afford to get rid of the coach until his contract runs out apparently
What a sorry state of affairs we find our selves in,we were world champions in 2006 and yet we find ourselves in 2009 at rock bottom?

| Northern Lad: don't tell me what to do please? If my posts bore you, don't read them - no-one is forcing you to.
But anyway, you seem to be missing the point I am making: I am not taking issue at all with ME's arguments per se, and definitely not with his right to express his views. I might even share some of his opinions, and I certainly share his concerns. If you read some of my other posts you will see that.
What I AM taking issue with is his incessant unceasing criticism - and seeming delight at being able to dive in at every opportunity to show how right and how clever he was - whilst failing to put forward constructive and realistic alternatives. And then his re-writing of history when caught out, and his resorting to personal insults when caught out further and he's backed himself into a corner.
And you will anyway see ME yet again trying to twist the argument AGAIN in the post three posts before yours. Note how is is attributing to me a "relentless defence" of the coach? Where would that be? Not on this thread and not anywhere very recent. All he is doing is trying to turn (yet again) what the debate was actually about (in this case ME's seeming inability to improve on the not-particularly-satisfactory comments from Macca) into some other issue (the same one as usual) of his own choosing.
For the avoidance of doubt - I exposed ME's seeming inability to do anything other than criticise and complain, irrefutably, so he resorted to personal attacks and downright untruths to try and detract from his own failure. Again.
The difference between you and ME is that you put forward sensible reasoned CONSTRUCTIVE proposals and comments, and take care to reasonably distinguish between fact and opinion (and btw I agree with most of what you said too) whereas he just criticises. If ME followed your approach, its very unlikely any of this arguing would be happening.

| sry Adey I'm not trying to tell you or ME what to do, just hoping that the endless cyclical debate/sniping/point proving ends soon (I'm not attributing blame)
I've read the posts and I didn't miss the point and tbh I'm not fussed what ME says or if he's consistently critical no matter what happens, it just means that i don't pay much attention to his posts as will others if that's the trend.
I guess what I'm saying is both of you are entrenched in your views, perhaps it's best not to feed each other although i do admit the boards would be a little less active if that was the case

The one thing that is missing from the article is what's going to be done to change things for the better. I find it hard to believe that the guys can put the season so far behind them when we're half way through it.
He praises the team whilst saying a couple of things didn't go right.
To understand how to improve things i guess you need to know what's going wrong, I haven't heard anything to confirm he does other than the quote he gave about not knowing
Can anybody give us confidence that this situation can be turned around when it's not been so far?

Havent been to a few matches in a while but from what i've seen on sky and on here it is really getting out of hand, i wasnt around pre-super league era but i can say this about myself i dont want to see tumbleweed roll past me when i go to odsal.

Have you sent email to Duffy with those (pretty relevant) questions, for the Fans' Forum? I think the first is a spot-on question to expect a reply to, although I could see them saying the second was "hypothetical" and therefore not appropriate to respond to. I'd suggest though that, given your particular circumstances and what you are engaged in right now, your case for formal answers is stronger than most? You'd certainly get the answers reported on here! Provided of course the club chose to answer the questions...
And hey - your location just changed! You back home now?

There can't be any excuses. There were 17 full-time professionals out there. It's time for man in the mirror. Something has got to be done to shake things up.
Compare that to McNamara's babblings. To be honest, I'm really worried about taking a kicking off Wakey when they come to Odsal next week because if Kear says he's going to shake things up, there'll probably be some shaking happening at Belle Vue. Unlike at Odsal where it's more a case of "meh, we're getting paid win or lose. who cares what we do on the field"

They have barely improved at all, they do well until their spirit runs out then they as soon as their players come back from injury they begin to lose, he is no better a coach that McNamara and as i constantly say our problem is more than the coach, i am not a fan of his but the stadium, our lack of investments and FANS is a result of what happens on the pitch

| John Kear is the only coach who has won silverware for any team outside the "big 4" in the super league era.
He's a much superior coach to McNarama.

| Well according to [url=http://www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/sport/4393532.Just_how_did_it_get_away_/Dave Halley in the T&A[/url the Bulls were "firing on all cylinders at Salford but just couldn’t get those scores.”
It's garbage like this that is hacking fans off even more than the performances, surely the club can see that and should be making sure any interviews given show a bit more savvy, If that was firing on all cylinders they might as well give up.

Worrying like you say if that was firing on all cylinders. The reason we lost Dave is because our attack is one dimensional and slow. We have very few people running off the ball and when we do the pass in invariably a poor one or we throw it to the dummy runner. We needed Deacon/Jeffries/Newton to take control of the game.. but they never did. Salford were depressingly below average but took their chances and got some points on the board.

The `interviews` are poor. I don`t know if Dave Craven is actually going round to players and asking for quotes or whether the club is putting the lads up for the daily humiliation.
I wouldn`t want to prevent any player from exercising free speech so if they are being asked by the service crew then fine (though maybe they should think twice before answering),but if it`s a club initiative then Duffers (I assume it`s he) ought to think again because it`s a bad idea.
As for the Salford match, for mine they played quite strongly for much of the game, particularly in defence, and again, for my money they were the better side in most aspects of the game. They crossed the line half a dozen times but didn`t get the ball down every time due to a combination of good defence, bad luck and the odd poor decision (though Salford fans and the few on here who think McNamara is to blame for everything will probably disagree) from a TJ forty odd yards away.
It`s a game they should have won, but they ultimately didn`t deserve to win (though in truth neither did Salford), dropping far too much ball and one bad defensive error (after a great chase) which gave away six points in a tight game. Firing on all cylinders? I think not.

Did you go? As our attack got over the Salford line at least 7 times, I'd say Halley's got a point? If our attack is "one dimensional and slow", how did that happen?
I also don't think Salford were "depressingly below average". They rode their luck, with all those missed chances by us, but deserve some credit because they played some good stuff too, and scored some useful tries.
