| The Rimmer part of it is word-for-word from an interview that Mick posted on Bulls Banter earlier. So that part is certainly what Rimmer said.
The Council bit - well, who knows? It all sounds very much like what a lot of people have been saying for years. Sounds sensible but I can’t see City going along with it.
I see that Mick wrote the piece so maybe he’ll be along soon to explain about his council ‘source’

I hope he does. I just want something more substantial than a "source" that says something we all would love to hear.
Regarding City I doubt very much it would be their first team as 18k isn't isn't enough, but they could be part of it for their youth/girls teams.

I’ll post the full interview on Soundcloud tomorrow.
There’s a lot happening in the background at present with the Bulls needing to return to the city of Bradford and the Valley Parade lease up for renewal this decade.
For those asking about the other way, I’ve spoken to someone who was involved in the consultation process of exploring the viability of the Bulls moving to Valley Parade last year and they confirmed you’d get little change out of £1.5M for a new playing surface and major reconfiguration of the Kop - front seven rows removed for Health and Safety legislation regarding perimeter clearance.

£1.5m seems a relatively small amount compared to a new stadium. I love VP I remember Northern playing there in the 80s against Wigan and in the cup against Widnes. Koncrete and Lowes had a go circa 92/3. 25k capacity and function suites etc. Seems the obvious choice compared to Dewsbury, Odsal and a non existent stadium.

The main cost of Bradford ever returning to Valley Parade would be the new playing surface that would allow Football and Rugby League to be played there. At present these pitches cost £800,000. Because of the limited access at Valley Parade these costs for the new pitch and reconfiguration work on the stand would naturally cost more due to the difficulties such a project would face.

| It’s worth noting that a new stadium development nearly came off last year between BMDC, BB and the RFL only for Andrew Chalmers to fail to produce the required money at the eleventh hour.
That depressing story definitely needs to be told on the Full Eighty Minutes at one point.

Isn't that the way with the Bulls? If we had money we wouldn't be in this mess. We don't, the past owners didn't, and I can't see the new owners having it either.

He just can't help himself can he. He did something good on Sunday organising the walk and then goes and makes up a quote from the council on a Sensitive situation.

| Mick, I mean this in the nicest way possible, but if you're going to try and present yourself as a credible and professional journalist, then you need to act like one and work through the proper channels. Press officers exist for a reason.

Mick is 60% right. Being part of a 'Council' team we knew about this some time ago, as of course did the then emerging 'nestegg'. In fact, all the relevant paperwork in that regard is held on file by the nestegg team, and their lawyers.
The truth is that Chalmers, likely with Wood pulling most, if not all, of the strings, was in effect granted an option to purchase the Odsal head lease from the RFL. For legal reasons 'nestegg' will not allow us to say too much on this forum in this regard but we can presently say the following:
a) AC had the option to purchase the head lease for a principal sum of circa £750K. The actual £ sum is redacted on the lease purchase option document version we have, but we, being part of a 'Council' know that the principal sum was circa £750K, give or take.
b) That is at first sight a loss on the head lease of approx £500K for the RFL when compared to the lease purchase price they paid Hood in late 2011. However, there is a twist in the tail ... isn't there Nigel ... and Ralph? We presently cannot say anymore in this regard, and yes, you guessed it, for legal reasons.
c) Chalmers went to Trump land to find somebody to help him take up the option to buy the lease. But when such US based folk realised that AC did not have 'a pot to pi_s in' then they told AC - and allegedly by default, Chalmers' puppet master, Wood - to sling their hook. That was to all intents and purposes game over, and not too long thereafter AC packed his bags and went, apparently 'tail between his legs', back to NZ. Chalmers had in effect allegedly let down Nigel etc as AC purportedly did not complete the simple and sole task he was put in to do in early 2017 at the Bulls (with signinicant £ loan support from the RFL) by Nigel, Rimmer and the rest of the allegedly nefarious hierarchy at Red Hall.
Becki knows that BMDC were in on this allegedly underhand and seemingly murky plot which we can, if need be, argue was on balance definitely NOT in the best interests of Bradford Council's Tax payers, or the Bulls. Shame on the elected BMDC portfolio holders some might say.
Things are now starting to somewhat unravel and we sense, increasingly, that the alleged 'rattlesnakes' may now be starting to bite each other.
BY THE WAY, THE BMDC ANNOUNCEMENT RE ODSAL STADIUM etc MAY BE RELEASED TODAY OR IN THE NEAR FUTURE, WELL AT LEAST SO WE HEAR C/O PERSONS CLOSE TO TWO OF BECKI'S BMDC ACQUAINTANCES.
Keep watching.
[ip.s. Thank you for all the kind words, Dr Feelybad. I hope that Nigel et al are looking after you. [/i.

big ****ing surprise, this is just more hotair and nonsense.
That article can be summed as the RFL propose to do something about their Odsal lease because its getting a bit too embarassing, at an unspecified time, but we and more importantly they, have no clue what, when, or how..... As you were.

| Meh
It's bloody obvious that any Odsal development requires up front cash and there may be profit at the other end.
It's also bloody obvious that discussions have been ongoing for a while.
The discussions will be about who owns what at the moment BMDC - land, RFL - lease, a developer - nothing, Bulls - a club/prospective tenant but basically nothing.
What everyone is willing to put in.
And who gets what at the end - BMDC - health/education/PR benefits for the City, possibly some cash and/or % of stadium
RFL - PR benefits, cash and/or % of stadium
Developer - most of the cash profit and/or % of stadium
Bulls - they get a stadium to play at as tenants. If they're lucky possibly a % of the stadium.

Yes Duckman, you may be somewhat on the right lines, and some recent posters may even be in part right about one Bulls' loving individual.
By the way, and possibly more importantly, 'Roger Daly' earlier today put up another of his posts on a separate thread re our friends, 'nestegg'. The nestegg team have asked us, and for the second time, to set the record straight.
Roger rightfully comments about the ludicrous and frankly disturbing fake nestegg/ charles twitter accounts that keep emerging, and even some fake callers, that keep sending out, or transmitting, wholly inappropriate fake twitter direct messages etc to unfortunate recipients such as 'Roger'. This abhorrent conduct by a small number of unknown troublecausers is, as said before by 'nestegg', a disgrace and we sincerely thank 'Roger' for once again bringing this matter to our attention. SUCH SAD, OBSESSIVE TWITTER ACCOUNTS etc ARE NOTHING TO DO WITH US, OR NESTEGG.
As said before the whole fake twitter account charade should be seen by level headed people as being no more than an irrelevant, childish and deliberate distraction. It should be noted by such fake twitter account holders etc that WYP are fully aware.
As the majority of forum users and guests now know:
i) Nestegg and Belcki would never purposely seek to insult anybody who is an innocent party, and
ii) We are NOT the enemy, and we most definitely are NOT the alleged bad uns.
We do, however, have a history of catching bad uns, albeit in this instance in part via this seemingly circuitous route! Thankfully, 'we' have substantial resources and manpower ... plus a few ladies who carry one hell of a punch lol
As said before, you may think you know who 'we' all are, but you don't. At this time it is quite unnecessary and inappropriate for you to know who 'we' are. In the fullness of time, and as this worthy project comes to fruition, all should become clear. One thing is for sure - nestegg and belcki are not going anywhere.
A proportion of the above message will be posted in response to Roger's post of earlier today on the 'nestegg' thread in respect of the information he has helpfully posted.
[ip.s. the so called BMDC 'Odsal' stadium statement may now be being re-visited!, but let's see. Becki is after all not the BMDC press officer; she is simply keeping us intermittently updated of the never ending rumour mill in (and out) of Bradford Council.[/i

| Anyway, as I said, I don't we'd get City to share it, but why not BPA? A new 10/12k capacity stadium would be good for them and if we've got a football team involved that opens up a ton of extra funding streams with regards to things like the FA and Sports England.
Plus a new community stadium would be inline for additional events that Odsal currently wouldn't be suitable for, such as semi-finals and finals of smaller competitions from both football and rugby which means the stadium gets used more than a dozen times a year so goes much further towards earning its keep
