I might be wrong but I believe the club released a statement saying he had signed for 2 years but I think I read a comment on Twitter from him saying he had only signed a year deal.

They've clearly done this because of what I said about him on here a couple of weeks ago.

| wonder if the 2019 is another website boo boo. In Chalmers comments he talks about Lilley being available for rest of season but no mention of next year other than in the headline.

You would think that would be more likely. I've not heard of a loan for the forthcoming season while the current season still has a quarter of its fixtures to go!

| I would think that the 2019 part of the statement is incorrect.
Great news for the Bulls and welcome back Jordan. He'll be miles better this time around with a decent pack to play behind.

| TBH, thinking about this it's a sensible move.
A third half back means that Keyes or Chisholm can be rotated in and out of the squad.
Also, given Chisholm's hot and cold form this year, it could also be a clever way by Kear to light a fire under his ass to get him motivated to fight for his spot and get back to his best

| So who drops out for him? Signing him on loan for the rest of this season makes no sense to me because he's a downgrade on both of our current halfbacks!

He's only 21 and lets be honest, Leeds haven't helped his development with the DR farce, one week Bulls, then Fev, then Rhinos. He's not a prop who's job is to run and tackle and as hard as you can, he's meant to organise and dictate the team around. Can't imagine its been easy learning 3 different teams moves, as well as getting use to the physicality of first team rugby and just 21 years of age.

| In my opinion Jordan will be playing behind a much better forward pack when compared to his last stint at Odsal. He’s also going to be playing significantly weaker teams so he should go well.

You're right he is only 21. And Joe Keyes is 22. We can't be using age as an excuse here.
Kevin Sinfield wasted no time in realising he wasn't the answer to Leeds' halfback problems.
I'm fine with him coming in as a backup half. Trying a new halfback combination on Sunday in the biggest game of our season would be absolute madness and I'd expect better from JK.

| Wonder when the Bulls players were told the news of Lilley joining? Also wonder if they celebrated his arrival.....surely JK must have some knowledge we aren't privy to?

Like Lilley, Joe struggled last year, this year he's been a revelation. Lilley shouldn't be chosen ahead of Keyes or Chisholm, but i'll be interested to see how he goes over the next 18 months. Decent back-up half.

Something tells me he's not coming in as a backup.

| The news article describes him as a half or hooker. I’m wondering if he’ll take the bench hooker role with Hallas dropping to loose or 2nd row in place of Laithwaite.

| Great news. We need another halfback for sure to provide cover for injuries and loss in form. Lilley needs regular rugby for the same team rather than chopping and changing. He's certainly good enough for us in L1 and the championship.

| Last week I mentioned we could possibly go for Lilly and some thought I was crazy. I am delighted to officially announce that I am not!
I wasn't bashing Chizzy but I have had a feeling about Chizzy that he isn't an organiser.
I come from a generation where there were some halves that were not quick but they managed the pack superbly. This is how I see a good scrum half. I have stood and cheered when Chizzy does a bit of brilliance but then watched the forwards for tens of minutes just plodding forward with little guidance. We then finish with a kick to the wing. We are building a very good pack but they need a general telling them what to do.
Kear himself constantly says we are not playing at our best. I now wonder where he thinks there must be an improvement. There will always be a place for players like Chizzy and Sammut but I would guess that most coaches would rather have a traditional organising scrum half. If you have pace out wide and at 6 plus a big strong and mobile pack you don't need a fast scrum half. You just need a clever one who is the general.
I hope Chizzy doesn't leave but am delighted Lilley is here and hope he can now feel belonged and start to fulfill his real potential. Keyes must now be made full time so there is no desire to move to a championship club when we will soon be one.

| Chizzy is a stand out because of the league he is in.
Against better teams he d be nullified. No big queues for his services before remember.
Sorry I forgot Sheffield.....
