| There's that new place on Centenary Square that the College use for training their kids. We've had a couple of snacks there that have been very good, I'm sure they do mains as well.

Quote ="Errol Stock"I have not been but know someone who highly regards
Napoleons Casino
37 Bolton Road
Bradford, West Yorkshire BD1 4DR - 01274 391820
The restaurant is on a separate floor to the gamblers, its heavily subsidised by the profits from said gambers.
Food is supposed to be excellent and the prices low.
And on looking at this - seems hard to beat;

Well worth a visit, never had a poor meal there.

| I was told the Russian place in Bradford was superb, but I'm afraid I'm not sure what it's called or whereabouts it is. Just got told by some contractors we had in at work that it was a real welcome surprise how good it was.
They were staying at the Jurys Inn near the Alhambra, so can't be far from there.

On the rare occasions we went to eat in Bradford city centre we tended to go to Orlandos just on the bend at the bottom of Morley Street, but that changed hands. It is still an italian, though, but I can't say what standard.
There's Polish food on at the Balanga Bar (where the old Market tavern used to be). Some barszcz, bigos and mixed pierogi would see anybody royally right. Went quite a while ago and it was a bit of a rough diamond but the food was good and plenty. They don't serve late though so you'd best ring them if interested.
The Russian Restauramt is bang opposite the Register office on Manor Row but I've never been - it always looks shut. But maybe it is just dimly lit. Who knows. The website www.rurest.co.uk/ is interesting and has menus.
The new Restaurant1914 upstairs in the Alhambra, with views over City Park, could be worth a shot, it is new, and I haven't been yet but sounds interesting, though it will no doubt be linked to theatre performances. Should be easy to get a table after the turn goes on stage!
Probably the best nosh might be at the [url=http://www.victoriabradford.co.uk/restaurants-bars/the-carmargue-restaurantCamargue[/url inside the Victoria Hotel on Bridge Street. Midland is OK and the entrance and interiors are impressive but I think the Vic grub is better.

| Thanks for the ideas.
FA, that Italian, do you mean the one on the bottom of Great Horton Rd? Used to be Angelo's? It wasn't the greatest IMO. Now called La Romantica so it may have changed hands, not sure of the quality. With a name like that you wonder who their clientele is!

| Orlando's is the one in Frizinghall. Angelo's always surpised me how good it was. I've not been for a few years but the tigress has been to the new one & enjoyed it. She eats that veggie rubbish as well so Mrs Bullseye should be happy.

It's called Forsters and is run by Cathedral College to give students the chance to work in a restaurant. Excellent food and service.

| If you like Italian then Ital is good. Slightly out of the city centre but not much. I've been there a few times and enjoyed the food every time. It does get a little busy and you end up hearing happy birthday sung about 10 times but other than that it's worth a visit.
Only other Italian i've been to in the centre is Mamma mia. Went there for lunch once and enjoyed it. Would try again if ever the chance came up.

| I don't know, but maybe head over to the new trinity kitchen in Leeds? 6 resident vendors, Vietnamese place, fish and chips, Chicago ribshak, cocktails, tacos and burritos, and pizza. As well as 4 per monthly street food vans. This month there's big apple hot dogs, gurmetti selling Italians meats griiled, manjits kitchen and a proper English pasty, breads and savouriesbvan. It opened today, I had a big frank hot dog and a pork and gorgonzola grilled sandwich. Outstanding stuff.

I thought the Love Apple wasn't there any more? Or did I just look in the wrong place last time I passed?

| Shut down about five years ago. Someone's done it out recently and I'm sure I've seen fliers for it around the university since then but I've never actually seen it open.
