If it goes ahead I am 100% in there . I will not back out . I am a man of my word . I (stupidly) said I will do it , and do it I will . Might even just go do it on my own . I know for a fact your not camping as i was going to do 3 days as well...bulls have said must be in hotel accomodation...rhinos were going to pay for hotels when in west yorks.

Ive booked time off work bought new £50 walking boots but not heard owt since i asked how much hotel was gonna cost me over 2 weeks ago so presume it isnt on anymore and have arranged to do summat else on my time off instead now rather than just wasting it.

Seems you know more than me about it . I have been walking around carrying weight ready to carry all my gear ready for camping . Last I heard we were camping , and were supposed to be meeting JD on RL last Sunday. I hear nowt soon then I am out .Sorry . But I have put a great deal of effort in readiness for this . . The lack of info heading this way ain't been very helpful .

It's really strange that absolutely no one has heard from them.

I cant get intouch with Andy either.

A few friends have his number so i'll ask them to try and contact him. I know regarding sponsor forms he was on to Sarah at Odsal to try and work this out ( towards the end of April ) but nothing since. Theres over £1000 in donations on the site now so I think we could do with knowing as it doesnt look good on the club if this doesnt go ahead.. especially with fans from other clubs donating .. some more than £100.. and the funds have already been paid. :/

I hope that they're both ok.. its not like Andy just to vanish...

If they cant do it for whatever reason they should not be afraid to come on this forum and tell us. We dont need a reason why nor will we judge. Just be up front about it.

I hope they are both ok . Nothing on twitter or on these boards for over a fortnight . We were supposed to meet on the 6th to do an interview with JD on Radio Leeds ( I had planned a surprise trip to take them to the Hunslet game that day while they were down this way ) . Does anyone know if it took place because apart from being told the date a week or so before I got no further details .

You would have thought that as the third walker I would have been kept informed of what is/was going on , but I have no idea at all .

Over a fortnight since a tweet from either of three twitter accounts too . It has been suggested that the thirty miles a day could have been too much of a task . It could easily have been cut to a shorter route of 20 per day , which would still be quite a challenge , and I am sure nobody would have complained about James doing a shorter walk than first planned . I certainly wouldn't have .

I honestly don't think it is a scam . But you are not the first to suggest it could be so . I assume that the money on www.charitygiving.co.uk/james2odsal will go to it's intended destination regardless of what happens , but would it be refunded to donators by the foundation in the event that the walk does not take place ?£750 in online donations , and a very similar amount in what I assume are cash donations . It has already been mentioned that Gill is a friend of Andy and James . On hearing that my lad had broken his leg when he got run over Andy suggested that Gill might be able to supply a wheelchair so Carl could join us as we passed through Leeds . Involving Forty20 mag / T&A / Bulls / charitygiving etc is in my opinion way too elaborate for it to be a scam . Just keeping fingers crossed that all is well and it is nothing too serious whatever the problem is .

Ooooh . I forgot to mention the hatemail I have received regarding me withdrawing from the walk .
There have been a few people that have contacted me saying I was doing the right thing , and thankyou to those people . There have also been a few saying some rather unsavoury things about me being a scum Whinos fan that bottled it .
So to put the record straight ...
In all honesty I was rather looking forward to the challenge . I put a hell of a lot of time and effort into practicing and training for the walk . I haven't done any over-time for almost a month because instead I have been walking four or five hours everynight carrying a heavy rucksack in all weather conditions . I have taken 9 day of my holidays to allow for the walk and recovery days . I have spent an absolute fortune on equipment I could ill-afford . I have arranged transport and accomodation for tomorrow night ( both now cancelled ) . I have also used up a few favours from friends . I have met quite a few new friends on my adventures too .
It was not an easy decision to pull out of the walk and I do feel I have let myself and my supporters down . I think I did as much as I could in preparing and publicising the event , but I felt I had no choice though due to the lack of response and information from elsewhere .
Hope that clears up any doubts anyone has about how committed I was to doing the walk .
