| The investors you want now will NOT materialise....
They will not get a guarantee that a Bulls 'Newco' will be in Super League next season - so they won't put any money in - as they see a Closed Super League Shop where there is no guarantee of ever getting in.
If there were automatic one-up/one-down promotion and relegation, they could look forward to two years winning every match in Championship and Championship One and be back in SL on merit for the third season.

That's what stopped Steve O'Connor investing in Widnes.

I'm expecting an offer tomorrow from the ABC consortium," Guilfoyle said on Tuesday.
"Whether it is acceptable to me and the RFL remains to be seen.
"But they seem intent on buying the club and I'm hopeful."

Oh no doubt about it. But something is better than nothing at the mo IMHO. I'm mildly optimistic, but of course I'll wait until I'm told by the visiting experts on RLfans what it actually means for my club and why its no doubt bad bad bad.

| Funny how its the Halifax and Keighley fans that think the fair thing to do is Bradford get relegated
And comparing away support at Craven park is hardly a measuring stick, is it?

"The consortium seeking to gain control of the Bradford Bulls want to establish a multi-cultural club, according to administrator Brendan Guilfoyle.
"The consortium is a ground-breaking model and the only hope for the Bulls' future.
"No other philanthropist or benefactor has come forward prepared to give £1million to enable the Bulls to survive.
"This consortium has come up with some innovative commercial ideas to make the club viable. They want to create a multi-cultural community space with rugby league at its heart.
"In order to make the necessary and essential improvements to the ground they are in discussions to buy back Odsal stadium from the RFL as part of their bid."
Gary Tasker, the club's interim chief executive, says the consortium have plans to break down rugby league's cultural barriers and provide a template for using sport to bring cities together."

| The offer being conditional on the club remaining in SL might not be too much of a problem as you're only in administration, it's not as if it'd be a newco. However, I'd imagine (or hope) that the RFL would want their money back for the lease, which might be a bit trickier.

Would be curious to know what these "cultural barriers" actually are? There is is pretty wide mix of nationalities in the current Bulls side - there is even a Frenchman for goodness sake who I for one would be very happy to see playing for us next year, and in a professional game all teams want the best possible players whatever their background.
I think the Bradford cricket leagues have shown if there is a common interest in a sport al creeds and races can join together.

dont see why it would be trickier as consortium arent asking that odsal just be given back to bradford. They are wanting to buy it back, presumably for a similar amount as RFL paid for it.

| Interesting comment from Look North (but attributed to Guilfoyle) to the effect that, -the press haven't yet worked out who ABC are and some current assumptions are wrong. Look North actually suggested that the assumption that the A was Akbars might not be correct. They never mentioned our assumption for C, though..

RL paid £1.25m last year - they will want £1.25m this year !
ABC , I bet my last $1 , will be offering nowhere near , and I mean nowhere near. They will also want the RFL to lend them the £ to buy it back at 0% interest over 30 years. These consortiums are sharks at best I assure you.
Their first offer won't be accepted and it certainly will be a long way off their best offer. Their best may not be enough ?

Shouldnt "and HMRC" have been included in that sentence? Or is he presuming they'll settle the tax debts?

C stands for Caisley. I can think of another word beginning with C
Which Caisley can be labelled as!

| I'd be astonished in Akbar's aren't part of this - they've been freely quoted and mentioned in just about every report in the local and national media for the past week. In fact, I think they've actually said that they are involved themselves
It seems more likely that Guilfoyle's comment refers to the C not standing for Caisley as most people seem to be assuming.
Well.... we can hope

Quite possible and wouldn't take a shark to realise that despite what the RFL paid, the lease is worthless. There should be a full independent investigation onto the circumstances surrounding the RFLs loan and subsequent purchase of the lease. How on earth have the RFL got themselves into a scenario whereby they have bought a lease, the value of which is dependent on circumstances wholly external to the RFL?
It is a catalogue of astonishing decisons. By agreeing the secret loan, paying the SKY money early and then bizarrely purchasing the lease, there is a case to be made that the RFL are complicit in the scale of the mess. Between November 2011 and July 2012 hundreds of thousands of pounds have been lost including 500k of supports money and the RFL now have a £1.5 million liability on a stadium which carries a responsibility to put a team called the Bradford Bulls in it.

| Going forward the newco can't make any £ unless it cuts it's outgoings to the bone and rent free at Odsal will be on their agenda , or however they can possibly get near to rent free. They , I assume , want a competitive squad so all other costs have to go to the bone.
I saw Shane Richardson take over Hull FC and I actually heard him shouting down the phone to the Hull Council within 24 hours of taking over. He wanted them to pay way over the odds to buy the Boulevard (which they did) and he made it quite clear , as far as I could understand that the future of Hull FC depended on the Council buying the ground so FC became debt free and got a very good deal on the rent etc I am sure the possibility of FC going bust and him blaming the Council was factored into negotiations.
The ABC guys will say the same . They want cheap everything because they are the only ones who can save the Bulls.
Hence they play very hard ball on the deal and the RFL will be on the end of the hard ball as they will not want to be the body that sank the Bulls and have a worthless lease to boot.

| I don't why your comparing Hull FC and their Council it was a different scenario altogether. Wakefield has some paralells, but however it plays out it will not be like you think out will! A few more twists and turns to go yet, it wouldn't surprise me if Caisleys Firm are doing the legal work for ABC.
