It would interesting to know just how much extra money it would have taken to retain Wardle. We're under the cap, and have spent cap money on players that are basically not up to the job, so I feel sure we could have found extra.

Hindsight is wonderful, of course, but it seems obvious to me that Wardle would have played most games this season and would be the centre around which we'd now be building our backline. Instead we've had Whitehead (a second rower) and Ah Van (a winger) and Platt (a converted full back).....

Yeah, know what you mean. Solo is the kind of player that makes RL such a brilliant game to watch, but he just wasn't the grafter we really needed at the time.

When you look at our centres and see Wardle at Hudders it just strikes me as utterly bizarre that we let him go, it's not like we had an embarrassment of riches in the backs is it?

Don't worry, we can sign him back in a few years when he is past his best.

If we were looking for a winger, I think Broughton would be a good signing.

Tbf I think our wingers will be Raynor, Ainscough and Ah Van/Pryce. Raynor and Ainscough definitely deserve another year for me.

Raynor is the best winger at the club imo. If Crookes keeps gettng better though then we might be seeing him make a wing spot his own.

i'd have senior in a breath. Even if it just saves on him having a stormer against us. Its only my opinion but i feel even at his age he is a class above any of our three quarters

Sounds like we are talking to a few players in Oz and a few over here with the super league clubs permisson. Nothing to happen next week but should be some news on recruitment and retention soon.
