There is no doubting the talrn of Tomkins. BUT they constant replays was getting a little boring. It got ridiculous when we kicked and he did an inside pass one handed (no one anywhere near him) and they were praising it!!??

His ultimate test will be against Australia. He won't be able to run round the entire team like he does here. They, every man in that team will be able to tackle 1-1. He has lgihtening speed, but with Slater, Morris, Inglis chasing him, it won't be the end all. I really hope he does it for England. But it will be a true test for him.

Sam Tomkins deserves all the plaudits he gets, sky should be replaying footage of him, Super League has been crying out for a player like him for a few years now. He is the closest thing we have to a Billy Slater or Darren Lockyer type player.

Wouldn't say twice as good, but Robbie Paul was outstanding in his prime and would say they're probably equal.

Awesome talent. His arrogance/cocky streak probably helps him a bit too, and he certainly has a massive desire to win.

Interesting to hear on SKY his arrogance isn't the same level off the pitch.

I don't mind him that much, if he cut out the dramatics (he's stopped the arm clamp as much) I'd probably like him a bit, he's certainly excellent to watch and without a doubt the best British back in SL (although from what I've seen this season, Widdop could be challenging for the best back overall)

And whilst I'm praising Wigan, SO'L is actually a player I do like. He's great to watch, best 13 in the league an one of my favourite players from other teams in the league.

Can't believe some actually think he's just a cheap shot / head high merchant. He's been nowhere near as bad since Maguire took over and he has a good if not better defensive game than Langley and a better passing game than Sinfield.

All round its Vainikolo, in a straight foot race Offiah would have ripped him apart! That's providing Les hadn't have smashed him into the ground before he got into his stride!

Its funny how Langley's and O'Loughlin's careers have gone, Langley came into the Bulls team when we where on top and looked a world beater who had already mixed it with the Aussie's, not looking out of place and captained England youth teams, O'Loughlin on the other hand came into a struggling Wigin team and didn't really pull up any tree's! How things change!

Look we have been that crap that if I some how win by default it would be pretty hollow. we haven't done better than last year we are fooking gash! in a way in glad I dont have to watch it every week but not being able to go to the games has made me realise more than ever(I kinda already new) is I miss going to the games with my dad, mi cousin and my best mates. Sam Tomkins is the 2nd most talked-about player in SL (after TMFMISL), which tells you something.

He's a great talent, and some of the stuff he has been doing this season has been great to watch. I can't remember the last time I saw anyone do amazing things in attack as often as he does. I'm not going to blame him for the over-hyping, that's not his job and he doesn't control it. One think I have noticed, regarding his defence, is that while he's still not the best one-on-one defender, as a full back hae has started to apply his ability to read the game (which I sincerely believe he does better than anyone else in the league - one of those who doesn't have to try, he just sees things in a way his peers don't) to his defensive work. His reading of attacking kicks is superb.

I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do against the Aussies this autumn.

I am firmly in the camp that would like to see him go to Oz, not to prove anything, but because I think it would make him a better player. I think the defensive discipline on show in the NRL makes playmakers have to work a bit harder to make things happen. This leads them to learn new things, and avoids them developing one good trick and getting lazy. If your one trick keeps working, there's no real incentive to come up with any more. I have absolutely no doubt that Tomkins would be a massive hit in the NRL if he wants to be, and little doubt England would benefit from that.

However, hardly my place to tell the lad he has to up sticks and move to the other side of the world to work. I wouldn't, so that would be hypocritical in the extreme...

The Superleagues best attacking player bombed at least three tries against the wires including one absolute beauty in the first half. That pass to his Brother's feet when he'd drawn the full back and had three men in space to his right was up there with the worst passes I've ever seen.
