Monas was good but Westwood was far, far better. He was our clear MOM. For you it had to be a tie between Menzies and L'Estrange who were both superb.

Good effort all round and the occasional lapse from 1 or 2 players shouldn't obscure that they also contributed well.

| With less than 24 hours to cast your votes, this one is going to the wire (no pun intended!!!)
Amazingly Steve Menzies is the first Bull to receive the nod from every person voting so far!! Even more so amazing is that Heath L'estrange is only 2 votes behind at this stage!!!
The remaining pack is quite spread with Michael Platt currently in 3rd.
Menzies - 28
L'Estrange - 26
Platt - 8
Sykes/Halley/Lynch - 4
Nero/Worrincy - 3
Sheriffe - 2
Donaldson/Orford - 1
Remember voting ends Tuesday (tomorrow) at 12pm

| Quote ="Ewwenorfolk"Halley, as always had 100% effort and also had a good performance today. Those who said he can't evade a tackle - look at his try again.'"
It was a broken field situation in which the attacker has the advantage, and Halley took the try well.
But there's a difference between breaking tackles generally and evading tacklers in broken play. My impression was that Halley had been criticised for the former, not the latter.
Glaring errors aside IMO Sherrife offers far more as an attacking player than Halley.
Dunno if I'm allowed to contribute to the final poll but the top 3 for me were:
1. Menzies
2. L'Estrange
3. Nero

| People had been criticizing him for not being able to beat a man in any situation, so in some ways he did prove them wrong. (I would like to see him breaking tackles when returning kicks though)

| I can't believe how few of you are talking about Andy Lynch. The hit up he was making were immense and you were visibly a lot poorer when he was off the field in the second half.
I was a little dissapointed with him when I saw you play Leeds t'other week, but I believe he's been struggling with that leg injury.
On the Glen Hall point, its quite a common thing with Aussies. At Saints you'll always see Matt Gidley chatting to the aussies from the opposition after the whistle and they're quite often laughing. I thought hall did well for you as the game went on.
Best wishes to young Donaldson, btw.

When I made my selections, I DID comment that by leaving Lynchy out I was probably guilty of taking him for granted again.
And I tend to agree with you. And I think I probably was.
On reflection, if I was doing it again I'd have had Lynchy in the 3 not Platt. Knowing for certain now he is carrying an injury (we suspected as much but we know for defo now) makes it all the more so.

Do you think he's going to get any sort of international run out this year? Club bias aside (as best you can), would you have him in your England 17?

I can't believe anyone sees this as an issue. Once the final whistle goes, shake hands and get on with your life. People react to defeats and victories in different ways at different times but why should Hall - or anyone - necessarily put on some fake "Look at me I'm filthy at losing" act just to please poseurs? I'd bet he was just as disappointed at being beaten as anyone else, and I'd say any suggestion to the contrary is just silly.

A fully fit Lynch would be automatic for any England squad for mine.

Prop is one position where England are well off but even so he holds his own with any of them. Provided he's fit he'd be in my 17. He's got a great engine and never takes a backwards step. He might not put in the huge hits but he rarely misses a tackle.
England have a lot of forwards to choose from with the likes of Morley, Graham, Peacock, Bailey, Lynch, Scruton, Crabtree, Harrison etc all worth considering at prop for a start.

Suspect his injury may be reason for Lynchy's exclusion?

Or Macca doesn't want to rob Bradford of both it's starting props for the Crusaders game. Assuming they don't back up of course.

| I think Scrutes might back up, but we wouldnt want Lynch to given how he's done the other two interchange props work all season, would we?
Saying that I'd like to see Andy given a real go of the international arena. He's as good as any prop in the league

Bit unfair on Hall? He gets through a fair bit of work and McNamara chooses to take him off (I can recall him looking a bit miffed a few times)
