An interesting article that pulls together what most of us already know in snippets etc. Seeing the whole sweep of it shows to me that Chalmers is the best signing we have made in the last few years. Stamina, skill, a bit of mongrel, able to inspire the team he has put together by example, and he has invested in the team, whether his or others money. Another thing that makes me happy is that Mini's performance this season was even better than his youtube video, about time we had someone who knows what support play is all about and reaps the benefits of such a skill (and all the others like timing passes etc) with loads of assists and tries.

Yeah, which suggests that Chissy will be here next year. I would imagine that the club will be dropping more signing news over this week and next to push for extra season ticket sales before the early bird deadline on the 31st.

But I think we've got a VERY strong backline for 2019. A little more steel in the forwards and I don't think a top 5 finish is beyond this team

Is it Gibson`s fault he doesn`t pass the ball more or the inability of the guy outside to read his game and run the right channels. After last Sunday I think he had a winger who knew instinctively where to be.

Good point re Gibson, he is certainly stronger defencesivly but maybe with a quality finisher o/S him in the right place may see more tries via this route

Yeah they have, but I think its what he offers defensively that matters. In the York game we had Johnson filling in there for him and the difference was massive. Got to admit he seemed to offer more ball to Jy in the semi and final, maybe he just totally didn't trust Grant?

I'd still play Oakes over Gibson any day of the week, but I'm not expecting it to happen.

Oakes defence ain't that good hence why Kear won't pick him at centre unless injuries force it. He has even mentioned in interviews he sees his long term position in the 2nd row.

In that case Oakes looks like being a busy boy next year. There's not much experienced cover in either the centres (For Webster/Gibson), or the second row (For Minchella/Storton).
Garsides contract is up and I've heard nothing about that, and Goodall seems to have disappeared off the scene.
