there's bar staff at the bulls on Facebook saying they haven't been paid today and safeguard employees also saying they've not been paid by the Marc Green. I know you are right in that Facebook can't be used as the gospel truth but it does look like Marc Green has problems in paying his staff. hopefully because he's in Ibiza there's been some miscommunication.

For a start, he is the managing director, of course we need a managing director.
For another, despite NOT being in SL, we have now gone 2 seasons remaining solvent and fully operational. That in itself is enough to prove he is good at his job.
Clearly nobody would have predicted how badly the team would fail, and that has now severe financial implications for the future. Clearly running full-time in this league was always going to be a tightrope and sadly the team has not made the far end. But ATEOTD that isn't Ferres' fault. We have been told that the coach at any given time has had a decisive say in players coming in or not, and that Lowes declined at least 2 scrum halves, so it seems Ferres has been unfairly castigated for the signings, but anyway he ain't the coach, or even director of rugby. His main job is MD and I don't think anyone can fault him on that basis.

| In Mr Greens statement he said one half back was turned down who is now playing in SL. Having thought about this and looked at all SL teams I can only come up with Finn. I can't see it being Brierly. Many of us saw Finn as a reasonable fill in. If Jimmy turned him down in favour of what we had then that was silly.
It is a good point that FA makes about the club surviving for two seasons and add to that the clear building of the youth team which I believe is the most important part of any sports club - we have done OK other than the first team not performing as they should for Jimmy. On paper we have a damn good squad if they all played to their potential. I can't decide on Ferres. We signed many players that didn't play such as the Lumberjack. With another coach he could have been great. I am from the days of Foxy. He made average players look great and got the best out of them. That is what this squad needed.
I am open minded about who's fault it is. I still think it is the coaches job to get them playing.
As long as Green and Ferres can keep the club solvent I do think in Rohan and the youth coaches we have a future but it feels like we are starting all over again this off season. We can't afford Rohan to turn out to be another Jimmy. If he has the last say in signing players and Ferres does his job of balancing the books we should be OK - but it does need us all to buy our ST in a couple of months and give them another chance.
I would say to the club this year please cut the squad like you said you would and spend the same money on say 25 good players who Rohan has chosen and make up the numbers with half a dozen youngsters. That gives the youth team and future prospective young lads encouragement that if they sign for us they will get a chance if they try hard enough.

Can' argue with much of this - but "Foxy" had his favourites who he played in the 1st team well after the sell by date. And there was one particular player he didn't rate and would not play. Fortunately Brian Smith came along and popped Robbie Paul into the first team
But for the rest of your summary - spot on - the pity is - its taken us so long to be on the verge of getting somewhere - provided we stay in business.
I will be renewing my ST at soonest opportunity - and encouraging my few friends to do the same.
I really hope there are enough of us thinking on the same lines!

It's posts in bulls banter Facebook forums from a Johnathan house and josh Moore. A lot of it is highly libelous aimed at green and club so best you look.

The legendary Peter Fox in fact was the man who brought an 18 year old Robbie Paul to the club in 1994, although what he actually wanted was a big old ugly prop at the time. Foxy left in 1995 so I don't see your connection, but in 1994 we tied the league with Wigan losing out only on PD so he didn't do so bad. (and with a big prop would probably have won it!).
Foxy was a true leader of men and an inspirational genius. He ignored the sell-by dates and miraculously got old men and has-beens to play like world beaters and win titles. He specialized in it. That was the whole point of him.
If we had Foxy now he would probably have built a title winning team in this division of old has beens for less money than Batley spent. Kear is the nearest thing to Fox currently about and while Kear is also from a similar mould, he would I'm sure be the first to bow to the genius of Foxy, the Brian Clough of rugby league

great post and probably highlights that rohan smith despite his qualities isn't what we need right here right now and I still think had john kear got the gig ahead of jimmy lowes we'd be in super league now and thriving.

| The Jonathon House post is in "Bradford Bulls Banter Take Two". It's a closed group which means I can't generate a link to it. It is there though. Posted at 8:28AM today, and as I type this is at the top by virtue of recent activity. Not seen t'other one.

He sure did - my favourite period was his first spell with us in the late 70's when he did just that. Not forgetting the avoidance of relegation in spell two?

Won't know that either.
But not really one for looking back with misty specs - if I did that I would remember the thread subject playing scrum half for us
I'm more concerned with now and where we go from here - on and off the field.

| I remember him playing Errol, not a bad half either, though I confess my [hazy memories have him playing no.6 rather than 7, but could be wrong, of course...I remember your namesake too, even though he only played for one season, iirc.
