Let’s just the say the cheque I used to pay for my bond may as well have been made from rubber. Still I’ve got the keys now and that’s all that counts

| Well Chalmers has announced that we've got an agreement with Dewsbury to share their stadium. I wonder how much of that is basically leverage over the RFL and Bradford Council - give us a favourable solution or you're stuck with a derelict stadium and no rent income to mitigate any costs

It would certainly be prudent to do that - but then you'd have thought he would keep his powder dry too

I'd agree on that being the reason but there are three involved in this and if we were to be in agreement on how things proceeded I'd guess it would be better for all concerned.

| Jeez, people saying they wouldn't travel ALL THAT WAY to......Dewsbury?Don't they ever go to an away match?I never missed a match.home or away for over 35 years. If it means that the BULLS are still playing then Dewsbury's fine imo.hopefully along with a LT master plan to give the BULLS a permanent home.If you live next door to Odsal and you have been able to walk to home matches, you have been very lucky.Obviously like most LT bulls/Northern fans,I would rather stay at the iconic Odsal stadium, but the finances/maintenance fees are shouting otherwise. Trevor Foster will be turning in his grave with what's gone on over the last 10 years here. Many great memories at the Odsal Bowl.

| Quote ="Highlander"Why did he put the Valley parade break clause in the article? Surely the council isnt considering a new joint stadium to open about 2027 for both clubs on a new site?'"
I doubt the council is considering anything, other than how to provide its mandatory services on an ever dwindling income, though I haven't a clue which of the options the club favours.
If the council were to put anything into any pot it is more likely to be land, imo. and if it were to be elsewhere, (Dunn's site, perhaps?) probably in a straight quid pro quo for taking Odsal. That though would presumably need RFL approval (as primary leaseholders) though it may well be a good investment to pay out the RFL their £750K book price as the freehold would most probably be worth considerably more.

| Quote ="paulwalker71"If I am being totally selfish, Dewsbury fits the bill. It almost equidistant from where I currently live as Odsal.
Would I go regularly? I'm not sure. Every time one of these 'situations' occur (admin, liquidation etc) I feel that much less invested in the club. This would be another one of those things that would cause me to be less invested - since there isn't even the familiarity with the ground (having been going for nigh on fifty years).
Reading this and other forums, and social media, this appears to be a common theme. Many of us trudge along out of some sense of duty / loyalty / habit. It won't take that much for many of us to stop going altogether, or at least much less often.'"
There is a lot of truth in that.
I'm in a similar situation; been going since I was a kid, feel a sense of loyalty and it's definitely a habit. I don't feel it's in any way a 'duty' but when you've watched young kids come through 'the system' and into first team there is a sense of feeling that I've let [ithem[/i down if I don't go support them. Daft, I know... The habit bit is easier to break though - especially if it's the club causing the habit to be broken.
What I can't get round though is the feeling that, without the club to support, I'd feel like I'd lost a leg. Again, daft, I know.

| My gut feeling would be incredible scepticism that a move away from Odsal would be just until we firmed up plans for our own stadium. A move away is what failed clubs do before decades in the wilderness or extinction. Swinton, Oldham, York and many more.
The question of where we move to is a red herring to me. Unless there is a concrete plan for our forever home then I'll assume we are done.

Haha you're right I am, but for some reason I don't see all this as a bad thing. I've wanted us out of Odsal for years.

Moving away before we know the score is pretty much echoing what happened with 'Superdome', imo. Only this time there will most probably be no Odsal to come running back 'home' to. Chalmers' decision to name this a "Bullexit" has the ring of other disasters, none of which are likely to turn out well. The world has gone so mad I think it may be catching up with me....

That nailed on then?

| Clearly he has never been involved with Morrison before. He would probably charge more to play in the car park than VP

| I heard it was an HMRC Audi-tor checking if the turnstile counters had been disconnected.

| Dewsbury is only just over 10 miles from Odsal via M606 and Cleckheaton (or 25 mins via the M62) so it isn't an onerous journey compared with, say, Toronto. For a season in the Championship, I would tolerate it as I see no chance of proper accommodation being built onto Horsfall.

Ever? Or are you saying you'd put up with a move if it was for a year only and then we'd come back to Bradford?
I'm happy to support the Bulls at Dewsbury so long as there is a cast iron guarantee we'll be back in Bradford within a couple of years at the most. Anything less and I'm less likely to commit because I would see it as the final nail in the coffin.
