no.
ATEOTD, Whilst we didn't get the result, it was an improvement. We had two tries disallowed, and we gifted them 3.
Hopefully we can kick on and get back in the 8.

| Rikki and Mike W both run back to tackle a man and both miss him, both were rubbish again. Never mind good second half you can't play for only 25mins in a game that lasts for 80 and expect a result. Every team we play now kick to Rikki after watching him in the CC against Wire

| After watching a poor and lacklustre performance in the first half it was difficult to see how we could come back in the second half, however, a spell of 15mins saw us have Hull on the rack with more than good chance of getting the points with some fast and hard play which is the way it should have stayed. Macca takes the decision to take 2 best players off at that time and replaces one of the with Worrency what a total disaster the man is a hobbit, I have seen a girl guide give more commitment to a team and club. Subsequently Hull score and you guessed it Worrency contributes to the try.
This decision by the manager combined with leaving a man on the bench without even touching a game ball last week leaves me to question his train of thought.

How many kicks did Rikki drop?
I take it you were getting a pint when he put Whitehead through a gap then backed him up superbly?

| Quins away is very dubious. You never know how the Quins will play (and us to some extent) but if we were to win next week and back it up with a win against Salford, then we will be able to go into the KR game with some momentum at least.
Massive game next week.

Isn't he playing 'out of position' because we bought a fullback to play stand off (Kearney)? Everyone said he was a fullback and then Macca realised that and given we had no other recognised stand off other than Sykes (a fullback), we then we moved our existing stand off back to fullback, and our other fullback back to stand off!!!!!
It's that type of management/coaching that leaves me speechless. Yes, we've been hit by injuries, but the situation with Sykes was predictable at the start of the season.
Not to mention his bench policy which is inexplicable to anyone but himself presumably, maybe it's a fault on the player monitoring equipment, maybe when they're playing well and have some momentum their heart rate goes up, so he subs them! Or perhaps Addy got so excited last week sitting on the bench that he blew a fuse in Macca's laptop and so he couldn't bring himself to send him on. Honestly, if anyone can explain, justify or rationalise his interchange strategy they should be given the freedom of Bradford! Thank heaven he's leaving.

| Quote ="Bullseye"Thought Addy showed what he's capable of today and he looks a great prospect.
The side looked far more enthusiastic in the second half but unfortunately the first half we weren't sharp enough.
Rather than whine on we should remember we're playing without any recognised halfbacks. Sykes makes a fair few errors but we have to remember he's playing out of position, as such his efforts are likely to lead to mistakes. Also our backline lacks any real class in the threequarters too, as such we're not as clinical as we need to be.'"
Is he playing out of position. He finished lst season their and was moved their this season early on.

| First half dire. Like...dire. Second half a different team. Came out on a mission, and really went for it. Helps when you speed up the PTB (and needed to given how quick Hull seemed to be out of the blocks every time, esp Usain Bolt Fitzgibbon) and run from dummy half a bit. Shame we could not turn all that pressure into more tries - we had enough field position that second half to win the game. Once again don't think we had the rub of some of the crucial decisions - even the normally objective folk behind me were calling the officials all sorts of bad things. But we put enough pressure on their line to win it, and probably blew the game with a handful of dumb plays, and crap first-half defence gifting them tries?
Big rap to the likes of Platty and Koppy. And the young kids did good. Addy is looking like another one like Whitehead we had better get signed up on a better contract ASAP.
But still another loss - close, but again no cigar. Its going to take one hell of an effort now.

Adey these things will even themselves out come the play-offs so don't worry too much about the referees and what they do or don't give against us mate.

| Unless there is a dramatic increase in performance then we may well be better missing out on the 8 anyway. We won't win a play off game with our current form. Obviously I want to see us win as many as possible, but I have little interest in seeing us make up the numbers.

Surley it would be better for us to make the playoffs even if we only manage the first round. Isn't prize money allocated on final table standings?

I think I was just being selfish! I just don't see a great deal of difference in finishing 9th or scraping into 8th unless I genuinely felt we could win a match or two in the play offs. I've pretty much written the year off, I am however looking forward to seeing how players like Addy/Wardle progress in the last 1/3 of the season. I just hope we give them the opportunities.
Maybe if we string a few decent performances together I'll change my tune, not looking very likely though right at this moment.

Before our end of season run, you'd have thought the same last season. If we had of got in, youd have backed us to win a few.
It's not over yet, but it will be difficult.
I would like to see Addy start in the halves next week too. (Although i'll only be able to hear how he plays on the radio)

| Well I try to be optimistic, but this current side is playing a fair way blow the standard necessary to be in the mix for Silverware. Yeh we might just scrape into the 8 and win a match, but I can't see us doing anything more. I don't see a great deal of achievement in finishing below mid table and I have never agreed with the top 8 system in our SL.
So I'm more interested in seeing some of our young talent flourish. I want to see more of Wardle, he's impressed me in the couple of games he's played. I

So would I, but I can't see him getting any time soon as Nero & Platt are playing well atm.
Olbison has been playing excellently in the u20s recently though, if McNamara has any sense then he'll be in for Worrincy next week.

We'll wait and see, I don't think it's justifiable to keep W orrincy in after that second half though.

| I have to say I'm getting a bit worried about missing the playoffs again. I reckon we now need to win 5 from 7 to be certain of making the 8 (27 points from 27 games should get you 7th or 8th - not guaranteed, but in reality it's usually the case), and we might scrape it with 4. Can't see us beating Saints or Wigan, so that means we can't really afford to lose any others (Quins, Salford, Catalans, Hull KR and Wakefield). All those games are winnable, but then so were the last 2...
