| was a decent performance all in all and a valuable two points , like someone said earlier there was a few weird selections.... sykes on the wing was a gamble that didnt pay off he wedged in when he didnt need to i thought , whats up with halley? crookes seemed to go alright and has put alot of size on since i saw him last play for us , Tom Burgess is freak of nature i dont know what his mum feeds him he is a giant and hopefully he will kick on as a real crowd pleaser knocking people about! i think we need to get whitehead out of the centre's he has a decent engine on him and works hard in the middle and i think thats a bit wasted on him in the centre appreciate injuries are making him play there at the moment but when all's well and good again i think he is a backrower all day long , donaldson just seems to me like he has it in him to be a different class but for some reason just doesnt seem to be able to turn it on ...... if he doesnt get more game time though i can just see him signing for someone like leeds and turning into the best back rower in the superleague !!! haha always seems to happen like that! but yeah good performance just consistancy is whats needed now i guess

You could see his confidence grow as he realised a big Salford pack held no fears at all. I don't mind admitting I underestimated h after Keighley pre season.

| Aye Tom Burgess really made a big impact and some of his drives were superb particularly the one that led to Sykes's try. I also noticed he totally shrugged off a Paleassina attempted big hit and fat Feka was soon withdrawn not to be seen again.
On Silverwood I didn't think he was that bad. A couple of decisions could have gone either way but for the most part he was ok. The only gripe I had was he allowed a much slower PTB and more messing about than Ganson did last week. But asking for consistency is asking for the impossible and we know that!

All season ticket holders are counted in the attendance whether they actually attend the game or not. Given how many season tickets the Bulls sold you could have 5k in the ground and still have a 10k+ official attendance.

| Salford brought a few hundred. We have 11k adult season ticket holders. As they announced 12400ish then we must have about 1k junior ticket holders to count as well.

| It was a shame Tom couldn't get himself on the score sheet today. He lead from the front along with Bryn and Koppy and punched holes in the Salford defense all afternoon. I felt that Potter utilized his substitutions well today.
It was good to see most of the squad come through the game without picking up any new injuries.

| I was worried at kick off of fielding a back line of Sykes, Ah van, Whitehead and Crookes.
It really looked makeshift with 3 of them out of position & 1 that has rarely played 1st team.
Apart from Sykes it seemed to work pretty well. Credit to Whitehead who was asked to play an unaccustomed role and did it well enough.
Best aspect was that some in the team showed that they are still improving.
Kopczak, Burgess, Jeffries, Briggs, Crookes, Royston.
Langley and Elima and L'stange were excellent.

I thought a fairly comfortable 10k but not more than 11k. Hard to judge from pop side but certainly a lot missing from main stand

Poor effort. First thing losing teams fans do is claim they were poor. You were outplayed.

Given that you can barely get a quarter of that, you have hardly got room to be critical

| It'll be interesting to see how we go from here. The next 5/6 games are going to shape the outcome of our season. If we stay injury free we should hopefully kick on from today and really push for the 8. We also have a few key players to return to the squad which should give us a bit more quality come the business end of the season.

| Have to kick on from this and get the 2 points from Quins. After that match, should we win, we should have Addy and Kearney ready or nearing selection and others not far off. I think if potter can keep minimizing the errors and the Players continue to improve there is no reason why we cant storm into those playoffs. Not only does getting into the 8 do wonders for the self confidence but also helps in terms of signings. A player is much more likely to go to a club in the Playoffs than one struggling, which would be a big factor for an NRL player of a higher calibre than Herbert. COME ON YOU BULLS, onwards and upwards!

| 2 points is 2 points, however average we were. I thought Disco was poor today needs to be dropped for a game to get a bit if hunger back we play much better with Heath on the field. Sliverrwood let a number of forward passes go which spoiled his game for me.
We still need to get smarter with ball in hand still to much of it is dropped

| Much better performance and the score flattered Salford. Not too concerned about the points we leaked considering they were all against our make shift centre/wing partnership, hopefully Platt will be back next week and we can drop Sykes. I would also drop Diskin and give O'Brien or Addy (if fit) a run out against Quins, we look slow and predictable with Diskin on the field and need to inject some more pace into the play of the ball.

| On another positive....
I watched the u20's and thought Halley and Addy were superb. Both these lads were on a different level to the competition, Addy looked like he's put a bit of 'beef' on.
Also worth noting that Halley was at 6 and Southerwood was at 7. Halley's game looked, to me, to suite no6, made a couple of 1/2 breaks due to his pace.

| A wins a win but let's be honest Salford were poor. Overall I don't think we played superb as some people on here seem to be saying, although I think there were some good individual performances.
We dropped alot of ball and against better teams we won't get the chances we did today. Happy we got the win but still lots to do but it's a step continuing in the right direction.

I've always wondered if Halley might make a half as he has not only pace but real pace off a standing start. Was told on this site that his hands were not good enough.
Anybody got thoughts on this?

When Halley joined the club as youngster he was signed as a stand off. The coaching team made the decision very early to switch him out to the wing due to poor passing ability.

Salford only came back into it when Bulls defensive intensity dropped off. Saying that if Silverwood had applied the advantage rule Bulls would have notched at least 6 more points when on top, and if he or his TJ's had decent eyesight a couple of Salford scores wouldn't have counted.
After a massive physical and menatl effort against Wigan this was a potential banana skin very well avoided.
