No doubt about it. Only 25 years old so he has plenty of time left in his career, and he's been excellent for us ever since signing.

Wasn't it only a short while ago that Scruton was in the paper saying how he'd love to stay and sign a new contract? And then this past Monday.....

definitely think we should re-sign Heath. only potential question mark is for how long. We've already got both Diskin and O'brien on long deals. I don't think O'brien is ready to step up yet but think he'll start to press for a 1st team spot next season and we cant hold him back too long or he'll go elsewhere for 1st team action. Maybe give Heath a 2 yr extension rather than a 3 yr one?.
And probably look at sending O'brien out on a season long loan next yr to get him competing at a higher level.

Given Diskin is 29, and Heath is 25, I'd definitely be looking at giving Heath 3. He can be an integral part of this club for years to come, as can Kearney, who hopefully will be next.

Definitely I would re-sign him, as we should have done Beaver last season, though I appreciate why that wasn't done. I would expect initial contact will have been made with various players agents and would be very surprised if Heath wasn't one of those.

I suspect the club will be releasing details of re-signs through the year, so as to have bits of good news spread over the months rather than in a one big splurge, and I can understand why the club do that as well!!

We should be careful with those 1 year deal players who are performing well.

Widnes will be looking at all OOC players now they've got the nod to come up to SL and will want to build a strong team for 2012

On the 1 year deals I'd hope we try and keep Ainscough too. I suspect if he got a fair deal from over the pennines he might take it judging by the amount of times he goes on about the long drive to training on his twitter account.

I'll go out on a limb and say that Ainscough will be playing for Widnes next season

That's not because I don't think he's worth a deal, because I do. It's the simple reality that Widnes will probably match or better what we offer, and since he lives relatively nearer Widnes, then I think there is a certain inevitability about it.

I don't know, everything I see on Twitter from him suggests he's loving it at Bradford. That kind of stuff can influence peoples decisions.

Ainscough does seem have fitted in well but that long drive each day can take a toll.

It takes it's toll if you're doing it by yourself, but he and several of the other Lancashire lads come over together in one car.

Give Heath a 5 year deal and the captaincy. He's our best player by far.
