| All we did today was look like a full time team of our standing should look when playing part-time Champinship opposition. We should have breezed through most of the season in not dissimilar fashion.
We have made it look difficult, but in truth it's not, with due respect and usual polite platitudes. Much of it is a mental feeling of superiority, and Smith seems able to instil that, but he has also made key changes in personnel and tactics. The fact that Lowes is nowhere near the coach that Smith is doesn't really excuse much of the Shiite we have served up, but what's done is done, and it must just be galling, to say the least, for Green to realise as he now surely does that there was absolutely no reason for us to have sunk to the depths we did.
I'm trying to look forward now, not back, as it is both painful and frustrating, I am hoping that the Monday news is good, and that we survive long enough to draw the winning money for the Mugs Plate. This season will be hard to recover from, and was all so preventable and unnecessary, but all we can do is look forward not back, and hope we're still here next time round, and with the means to allow Smith to keep on in the same vein.

What does that say?

| Quote ="woolly07"So, what do people think the big announcement will be in the morning. Heard Mick G say he was told by Mr Green to hold the announcement on radio till tomorrow. He did say there will be changes in the next two weeks - and he does know what is coming out in the morning. I didn't hear anything else as I left the car.
Is Green selling out completely or getting a partner?
Pay day again next Friday so I expect something to be done to help secure the club the club.
I also heard the interview with Rohan and he definitely didn't sound like someone who had doubts about starting next season. He has two more Ausies in his sights plus a handful of others.'"
Pay day isn't next Friday it's the following Wednesday 31st.

Good attitude on the field today. Maybe a sign of things to come under Smith.'"
Agree about the attitude. Today's performance has given me hope for the future as the attitude was spot on. Earlier in the season this would have been a 58-18 final score. The team kept the foot on the throat and wanted that nil scoreline. Maintaining a high attitude and performance in a game like this will benefit us in the tougher games in the future. Instilling an attitude like this takes time but I believe this is the first step.
Last week was telling for me. We played some decent rugby and comfortably beat Fax. But you could tell Smith was seething on bulls TV that we'd let in 4 tries and I believe he's trying to put in high standards at this club.
Thought keyes looked good. Nice passing and very good kicker. Shout out for James Bentley. Didn't miss one tackle and he certain got stuck in with some strong tackles. Definite one for the future.

| Quote ="roofaldo2"A very good performance from the team. I certainly hope that Keyes gets to keep his spot against Dewsbury as he certainly didn't look out of place and was pretty deadly with his kicking.
And with that being said, someone mentioned that he was pushing close to the club record points on a debut, can anyone confirm that?'"
Believe Sir Keith holds the record for his 12 goals + 1 try on debut against Doncaster. 27 points if memory services me right, I was there but it was along time ago 1973?

| Dead right. Sir Keith's record is intact.
I suspect Keyes record is for the summer era only.

| I was also there on Sir Keith's debut. My abiding memory is of Sir Keith fearlessly diving forward full length in muddy conditions to immaculately take a bomb at the feet of onrushing Doncaster defenders. Priceless!

| Joe was superb yesterday.
He was just two goals shy of the record on a day when the wind was gusting about and the easiest kick of the afternoon was gifted to a prop who was leaving. It leaves him No.2 behind Keith - if his career goes on to resemble Keith's [even only closely then we'll all be way beyond deliriously happy, I think.

| I remember being a bit worried to hear we were fielding a sixteen year old at full back after Eddie Tees' sudden retirement. Good job it's only Donny, I thought.
Main thing I remember of his debut was the confidence and assurance in everything he did, demanding the ball when he scored his debut try, the laser accuracy of his kicking from all parts of the field.
Some player.

| In terms of great Bradford players there is Mumby and then there are the others. I would be a babe in arms when Keith made his debut but heard a lot about it since. Shame it isn’t available on to watch on video.
Joe Keyes has a good debut too. Like Bulliac has said if Joe manages a quarter of what Keith did for us we’ll be very happy indeed.

Exactly my thoughts too. Tees had been such a good player that would be hard to replace. Little did we know what a great player and servant would be taking his place

| On a different note, has anyone noticed that the surname of Kris Welham's sponsor is an anagram of Roughyhead?

| Actually when I first [iheard[/i his sponsor at a game, I thought it was Verboaten Boating Holidays, which seemed to me like a really odd pun on a German word meaning forbidden. Alas, it was just my hearing (or the Tannoy) that was f*cked.

Well there'll be no sponsorship next season from that particular sponsor..
Disillusioned with the alarming drop in attention/events/hospitality offered to sponsors - markedly since the departure of Rob Parker.
And on the subject of Rob Parker - when he took the role - the bar takings and use of the Coral Stand suites was negliable.
He built it up to just about full at every home game - and of course the income that came with it.
I know for a fact he was miffed about the attitude of one member of the management team in relation to some poor on field performances...
So wasn't surprised to see him go - just very disappointed - and of course - post not filled.
I read that as further lost income.
We have a long had winter ahead.

| So since I missed the game due to sunning myself in Spain, I have a quick question. If you had to pick a side of the fence and weren't allowed an answer of "a bit of both", was it:
a) Bulls playing well
b) Oldham playing awful
My twitter feed while the game was happening seemed to suggest the second option, but I'd be interested in opinions of some of the intelligent ones on here. I don't have Bulls TV so won't see the highlights. Other than the Welham video that I saw on Facebook, which appeared to suggest quite terrible defence.

| I'm going to go with Bulls played well. As i have said before, this would have been a game that finished 58-16 earlier this season.
Oldham were terrible and offered little defence. BUT we can only play what is in front of us and the pleasing thing for me is we didn't put the que on the rack and think we'd done our job at 50 points. We carried on trying to sore, trying to play well, and more importantly keep them nilled. Having that attitude will help us when it comes to tougher games. The attitude in previous games of us putting the que on the rack after we had done enough, came back to bite us big time in tougher games.
It was all about the attitude for me.

| Of course it was an outstanding performance, yes we SHOULD have been totally dominating part-timers all season but even so, such a scoreline is exceptional by any possible standards.
Oldham just got us on the wrong day. They were not so much poor, as in the wrong league. They were made to look bad because we had the right heads on, and the personnel they couldn't cope with.
They came on the back of 2 wins in the comp (30-16 Workington and 30-8 Swinton) and you can also compare our previous 2 games (48-4 and 44-12).
This season they did a double over Sheffield, and had wins against teams including Dewsbury, Batley and Featherstone, and comfortably knocked SuperLeague Hull KR out of the Cup. They're not jesus christ, but they can and often are very naughty boys.
