It's implicit. It would be nice if Bennett would have a crack for free, but he won't so let's deal with the reality.

Bollox. And you know it and everyone reading this thread can see it. You are trying to rewrite history yet again, once you have lost an argument.
You did NOT say who you would "have had" or who you "would like". You said:
Quote ="ME actually"I said that earlier in the season that we should have made a move for Tony Smith. Shame we missed that particular boat.'"
That was NOT a wish - it was a statement of something that YOU said the club SHOULD have done.
And when I pointed out a possible reason why that did not eventuate, your response exposed your criticism as once again lacking anything constructive and paying scant regard to the realities of the situation.
I'm not playing any wind-up games, and I'm not aware anyone else is. I don't need to - my argument is robust enough not to require any of that nonsense.
Is yours?

You comfort yourself with that thought. It amazes me that you constantly go on about people taking me seriously yet you cannot stop yourself from commenting on most of the posts I make.
You go on about my agenda so I would ask you why it is that numerous people make the same posts as I do yet you ignore them and choose to pick me up? Why? Is it because it is actually [iyou[/i that has an agenda?
Still, I will note the fact that I should not bother replying to af in the future (TBH, what my reply had to do with you is a mystery to me in the first place? ) just so that you cannot jump in and find fault with an opinion.

| The deal is you post, you get to have your say, then others get to have their say on what you've said, regardless as to who you were replying to. On both the threads, you've lost the argument by default in trying to turn it into a generic 'we're cr.p so SM must go' debate. But the question here is [iwho could we get/have got that would be likely to do better?[/i and the question on the other thread is [iwhat should he say to the press?[/i. And you're ducking them both.

No I am not. In regards to who we could have got I said that we should have made a move for Tony Smith. If we tried, and failed, then so be it. I also would have put the names of Justin Morgan and Brian McDermott into the fray too.
Whether they would have done better or not, only time will tell, but to do any worse would take a lot of effort.
As for what he should say to the press? Is it too much to ask for a bit of honesty? Or is it perfectly ok to try and hoodwink the support by coming out with the same old garbage every week? We are sitting 13th in a league of 14 and are a complete embarrassment at the moment yet he still reckons that we will take SL by storm in the second half of the season. Who is he trying to kid?
So it is not ducking anything. I am sick of the same old crap, especially when he seems incapable of doing what he tells us he is going to do. What I personally wish he would say to the media is the following....
"I admit that I have tried my best but I am not producing the type of quality that I would like and (no doubt) said I could deliver before I was offered the job. It has been a big task for me, and one that I have given my best to but ultimately fallen short so it is for the best of the club, and myself, if I move aside and let another person take on the role."
But that won't happen sadly so if he cannot say anything that carries any weight, he should perhaps just refuse to pass comment.

| Quote ="mystic eddie"More twisting of what was actually said'"
Don't flatter yourself - I have ignored nearly everything you have posted for a while now - indeed, pretty well ignored you, period. I just chose to pick up on two points on separate threads, which you could have either ignored or dealt with in a quite straightforward manner. But instead you ducked the issues, then resorted to insults and twisting/inventing what I said
Yes, others make similar points to you. The difference is that - in the main - most put forward reasoned arguments, recognise positives where they arise (albeit few and far between these days) and criticise constructively. And don't resort to personal insults and to twisting what others say when losing the argument. You could do well to follow such examples.
And, for that matter, most of the others do not give the impression that they cannot wait to get on here every time we do badly to crank up the same old agenda about sacking the coach. And most of the others anyway actually see the team play on a regular basis.
Yes, I DO have an agenda - I prefer to see reasoned and balanced debate and constructive criticism, free from personal insults and free from twisting and corrupting and selectively-quoting what others say. I don't see any of that from you.
And as for what your reply to af has to do with me? You posted it on a public forum, so I am entitled to comment as I see fit. If you want to engage in a private discussion with af where others are not to comment, do it by PM. The only reason I am not dealing with THIS by PM is that I have tried in the past - and to no avail - and because you are doing your usual trick and playing out your attention-seeking me-badly-wronged approach in public once again.
I'll not post any more in response to or about you on this thread - its been derailed enough as it is.

If the head coach position became vacant, I'd have a lot of sympathy with that approach (think I've said that before?)
But we'd need to find some way of both enticing him away from his current job - where he seems to be doing just fine - to a club that clearly faces a number of significant issues, AND of paying Quins the inevitable compensation.

If you're wanting a one to one discussion with AF may I suggest a public access board may not be the best place for that. Just a thought
You may want to consider doing it in private - that way nobody will eaves drop, be offended by your discussion. . . . then again, we both now that private doesn't cut much with some people, don't we ME

| Reading one post shows how far out of touch with the REAL world sport is.
Players admitting they are not giving 100%
Discipline them. Utlise the systems that are in place regarding employment law
If I didn't do my job I know exactly what to expect and I have a CONTRACT of employment.
I don't say that coaches are invulnerable to doing things wrong but at the end of the day its what the players PRODUCE ON THE FIELD that is the final product and if they don't then it's not always down to the coach.
(Notice how a certain team have come on in leaps and bounds since the dropping of 1 player and transfer of another!)

Would have said I would have a lot of sympathy with that should the position ever become vacant.

"He declared he hated the Bulls within 10 minutes of arriving in Leeds".

Interesting. Bradley was a guy who seemed to rub quite a few people up the wrong way (sadly most were referees), though if these reported comments from Murray are true it seems there must have been some contact back in Aus before they came over here.
Not sure why he should hate Bradford though, other than possibly the fact that Bradley played for us. Maybe this was just a way to engage with the local rabble? Actually that `s not a bad idea........I can think of someone else who might like to make `I hate the Rhinos` comment`, which might help to endear him a bit more to the locals................................

I guess that`s true enough. The fact he reportedly made the comments within ten minutes of arriving at Leeds suggests that might well be the case.
Though if he were to be offered a job here would his old comments come back to haunt him? Would he feel he couldn`t backtrack, I mean the vast majority of professionals don`t make comments about `hating` another club, however intense the rivalry with their current employer and I`d guess that the chief reason would be that they don`t want to queer the pitch for any future job.
There have been a few Leeds and Bradford born players who were well versed in the dislike between the clubs who have pulled on the `other` team`s jumper in the past so maybe it`s possible he`d come.
