I thought that too.
Now we're the most hated team in SL hopefully we can get a bit of a siege mentality type atmosphere and stop all the hands across the world crap. Clapping ex. Bulls players that have moved on to other teams and stuff like that has to come to an end.
The National Rugby League Stadium, Odsal - the New Den of Rugby league.
Nobody likes us but we don't care! We are Bradford Super Bradford!

Hood said the club's debts were "manageable" and the club would have carried on as normal had the sale not materialised.
I'm not so sure we actually need the money. I think its more a case of Mr Hood spotting an excellent opportunity, suggesting it and coming up with a plan that will actually be of huge benefit to us.

How will having to pay out more money in the future benifit the club ?
If what you suggest is true , then what the RFL stated as a ' predatory interest ' was bull and somebody has told lies , either you to the RFL , or the RFL to the press
Is it not just your club telling bull to you ?

Its ' super news ' that you are so financially f**ked that you have to go to the sports governing body and beg to be bailed out , or you might cease to exist ?

I haven't seen that reported anywhere, funnily enough. Got any proof? Or just making it up, and advancing your twisted and negative interpretation as if it were fact? Oh go on then, you may as well throw in some wild accusations that Hood, the Bulls and the RFL are all lying too.

None of us know what the sum is that the RFL has paid the Bulls.
By the time that money runs out we MAY be out of the recession, the Bulls MAY have increased income streams, we MAY be doing better on the pitch etc.
If that money gives the club another few years to rebuild the club, make it more profitable and successful then it would benefit us in the long term. And the predatory interest may not be bull even if this potential scenario is true.

| Its funny reading through the thread on VT the amount of people who have stated how we were in financial ruin and now we will have a brand new stadium, RFL bias towards Bradford etc etc. Talk about putting 2 and 2 together and making 5, jeez.

| Would people be up in arms had the RFL bought some other type of income investment? e.g. the long lease on an office block with rent from business as income
Would people be up in arms had a private investment company bought the Bulls' long term lease at market value and leased it back to them at market rent?
So why are people bothered with the RFL buying the Bulls long leasehold and renting it back?
Seems to me it's more favourable for both parties, the RFL know they have a tenant who isn't going anywhere, a tenant who they can keep a check on and a tenant who they have control over in other means than just being there landlord. The Bulls have a landlord who they know isn't going to look to terminate there lease with a view for redevelopment etc.

| Quote ="Adeybull"Without the Pledge scheme, the crowds would almost certainly have fallen a lot further. the club knew this. What you should compare is what the Pledge scheme raised compared with the likely gate receipts for the next season, not the last.
the pledge scheme brought a load of cash inw hen it was most neeed - the very lean last quarter, where most of the other income has been spent or run out.
The Bulls had around 4,000 memberships before. now they have over 10,000 - that is 250% of before. I suspect at full price they may have had a lot less than 4,000.
Memberships tend to bring in a lot more ancillary income than walk-ins.
The much higher membership base makes generating sponsorship and commercial income very considerably less difficult.
There is no "loss-leading" involved, since a large part of gate income remains as contribution - the variable costs attributable to each additional attendee are not high. Do you actually understand what "loss-leading" means?
Quite the opposite; all ways round, the Pledge scheme is a brilliant win-win for a club in our particular situation.'"
i totally dissagree with you on how brilliant this bulls pledge scheme is adey
<as i have posted previously>
how can a club without a sugar daddy be expected run a successful club and on these meagre season ticket sales long term?
i would love to see the clubs balance sheet to see what turnover last seasons first pledge season actually produced cash wise
if the bulls continue with it's present downward spiral for much longer, and with spectators paying very little for the priviledge too, then how could the club ever charge more for supporters to buy season tickets or pledges?
if reports that the bulls have spent the full cap this season are to believed then i am astounded at what some mediocre players must be getting paid
i personally think that the rfl's intervention this week is just the tip of the iceberg regarding the precarious position of the bulls long term i'm afraid

Right, so I'm failing to see what the problem in saying the two situations are the same is? The RFL supported both as much as was required - no more, no less. To say "Oh its not the same as it was 100% of the lease" is nonsense. It wasn't 100% of the lease but it was 100% of the problem. You can't give them stick because they didn't buy the 40% that didn't need securing!

| Oh dear Jonesy.
Oh dear oh dear oh dear.
I've had some extremely interesting chats this evening with all four of the Bulls senior management team (including the chairman and his fellow directors). I can't begin to tell you how interesting - so I won't.
What I WILL share with you is that I am totally satisfied that this club is now perfectly secure financially, and that the progress made in recent weeks has been little short of astounding. And there is plenty more for the future.
I now have a much clearer understanding about the RFL's intervention. And, funnily enough, it transpires the press release contained far less spin than most people deemed it to have. In shock breaking news, it would appear it was actually largely factual. Yes Jonesy, there IS a tip of the iceberg involved - but its rather the opposite of what you are assuming. I'm going to have some fun at your expense in years to come with that post! Oh yes. Just you watch me!
Precarious position? Not any more, my friend. Duke Peter of Hood has pulled off the mother of all coups here. It takes a lot to astound me these days; but astounded I sure am. I must be, since I had a fair number of witnesses to my astonishment. So much has gone wrong for us for so long, that we were long overdue for a break. Well, seems we sure got that.
But don't let me keep you Jonesy. I'm sure you have to get back to composing a bit more negative waknerage for us to endure. But you know what? I'm going to be able to laugh in your face now when I read it! Not all at once; no rush. I'm happy to be patient. I'd rather have it dawn on you slowly just how wrong you have been - nice and slowly will do just fine!
btw, regarding your salary cap point: regular readers will know my views on the salary cap. And that IMO the words "Salary Cap" and "Wealthy Owner" are a classic oxymoron. One day I expect it will come out what has gone on, and folk will then realise how naïve they were. Until then, you just go on believing that the salary cap works. While you are at it, feel free to believe in Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy as well. They are probably more plausible.
