| There's no way Joseph will be playing hooker. Smith's already gone on record saying we're well stocked in that position.

Maybe with numbers, but I'm not sure we are with quality.
Lumb still looks quite raw to me. Could be a good player, but I don't think he's ready to be playing 40 minutes every week. After that, the option is Halafihi, who I've not seen any quality whatsoever out of, and couldn't even get in the Swinton sides most weeks.
We're ok while O'Brien is fit and healthy. If he goes down, I think we're struggling.

| Well same applies to a few positions.
I think Lumb is in front of Halafihi from what little I've seen.

I would agree with that. Largely because Halafihi has looked terrible every time I've seen him.

| Quote ="BeechwoodBull"What part of my post didn't you understand? I clearly said some reassurance is needed along the lines of, " we are sorting it out, or stick with us its tough but we are getting there. I then went onto comment about the Phil Joseph signing. I can't believe they are not giving some indications to potential signings of something is going on to stabilise things. If that's not the case then why would a professional player on a super league contract with a year still to go, come to a club who (we are told) cannot guarantee to pay wages on time. I wouldn't do it if its my primary source of income, and I suspect neither would most people.
I also went onto say they are surely going to have to say something to help to sell season tickets, a point backed up the Paul Walker71 post.'"
The word I'd give for that is, 'platitude', not reassurance.
I'm far from sure just what actual 'reassurance' we can be given, unless there really is is some genuine light at the end of the tunnel - like a new backer coming in or maybe, just maybe, due to the "exodus", the financial load, is going to ease sufficiently to allow us to go forward. If things really are at the bad end of all the scenarios then I seriously can't imagine how we're signing players or even paying the wages at all. So I, and we, probably have to accept it's not [iquite[/i as bad as in our nightmares.
I'm not sure how you would tell people that 'we're not exactly totally up the creek without a paddle and we're just, sort of, coping and hoping for the best' without frightening off a significant number. Truth is we can't afford to frighten off any more.

I'll be buying a season ticket.

Platitude is probably a better word. I am really hoping and praying the club can say something rather than nothing, to give me the "reassurance" that my club is not that far down the tubes that there is no light at the end of the tunnel, if only for the sake of season ticket sales. Thanks for your comments.

I'm upbeat for next season. We have our spine sorted and have a bit of depth there too. Need some big forwards but there's always plenty of forwards about.
Slightly off topic but Moley has put on Twitter that HKR are about to bring Scott Prince out retirement to Play for them next year. He retired at the end of 2013. He will be 37 at the start of next season...

| I can't see Prince holding up physically on a cold wet Sunday up the slope at Batley at his age. He's in for a shock if he comes over.

Aye. And with him being dead, he'll struggle to keep shuttling back the 10, as well.

Lots of individual flair though.

| Hasn't really peaked for the last 17 years either.
He did do a cover of [url=https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U_Make_My_Sun_Shine"When Will We B Paid?"[/url though, so maybe best suited for Bradford.

| Haven't we got the older, hopefully cheaper, full on Championship level version of Addy in Scott Murrell heading our way?
Although he has kicked us to death for nearly 2 years.

Murrell practically beat us single handedly at the Shay this year.
It's time for Addy to move on for everyone's best interests, as has been said before. Murrell as a short term solution, I'm perfectly fine with. Especially if he's the one that ends up interchanging with AOB to give our hooker a rest.

| Same here. If Addy's off then good luck to him. He needs a change of club.
Murrell - if he is signing for us- is a decent replacement for a season until one of the young lads is ready to take over.

| The article with Rohan today mentions the possibility of Joseph playing at loose forward.
Where did the Murrell rumour even come from? Anyone credible ie not Gledhill?

He's played quite a bit of loose in his career. He's a lot better at prop or at loose (as a 3rd prop style, not as a ball playing Sculthorpe type) than he is at hooker.

| More talk of replacement hookers - I ask again, what about Lumb? Is the consensus that he isn't ready yet, or am I fillng in the blanks incorrectly?
