Is Barlow actually a bit crazy? I was watching the players shaking hands at the end (when all is usually forgotten) and he was still trying to stir up a scrap much the bemusement of Chev. Perhaps getting flattened by our 7 was the reason, I'll give him the benefit of doubt.

I wouldn't want to be Whitehaven next week. I'd expect Jimmy and the squad to be extremely fired up next Sunday to make up for today's collapse. It'll be a real test to see if Leigh can back up today's game and take the points at Halifax next week.

One final point. Today's attendance was higher than 3 Super League fixtures.

Don't think Leigh fans have been arrogant at all to be fair. Get one or two numpties on a forum who think they'll be unbeatable now, but we have some numpties too

Whenever I've seen Barlow play for Sheffield, fax and Leigh I've always thought he was a bit of a prat (putting it politely)
Chev had hold of him at the end of the game and was giving him a few wise words of have to be gracious in defeat as he was waving at the Bulls fans after the final whistle. Him and Siejka were going at it all afternoon. Even when the referee was talking to them they were pushing and slapping each other in face (if he had binned both at this point it may have been a less troublesome game)

Think it was Barlow who throttled Pitts by throat when he knocked on too. Definitely a player to get under he opposition skin.

Not suprised to hear folk talking about Leigh's dirty playing style. While Rowley has been their coach, their discipline has been terrible. Last year they perfected the art of getting away with it.

This loss will do you the world of good, see you in a couple of weeks.

Playing you first game of season definitely suited us, and at times you showed the gulf in class between yourselves and anyone else we've played in the last year. That said, when we concentrated on rugby rather than niggling, we were excellent.

As for being as good as we think we are, most leigh fans would be happy to compete for a top 5 spot in the 8s, and think we have enough quality to compete for that. Comments like 'we'd beat them any day of the week' can also been seen as arrogant.

Was a great game, the two things that were awful were the referee and your goal kicking!

Well apparently we had a deal in the bag for Gareth O'Brien from Wire but shortly afterwards he managed to get back into the Wire side and we agreed to not register the contract. It was a poor game from Siejka today and I hope he has plenty of improvement in him. The lack of quality goal kicker is another concern, the misses from out wide were forgiveable but the one 15m to side of post was a shocker.

Jimmy must have seen them practice in training and I presume he must have the best ratio from our regular starters... which is concerning.

O'Brien should look really good this year. Definite Super league quality.


I was expecting Brierley to cause us loads of issues with the hype surrounding him, but we kept good watch on him. Probably used to more time on the ball. Some of his passing was bloody awful. Took his try well, and not really fussed about his celebrations. His pace will see him have another strong year.
