| And if we did get into SL we would likely have more money and then could take on a bit more of the upkeep of Odsal and then maybe have the ability to extend the field in role as dominant partner?

| Agar is just a continuation of Kear. Steady away. Not bad but not great either. Would rather someone like Danny Orr, a bit of freshness.

| The pitch is an embarrassment but we're between a rock and hard place. Get rid of the stock cars and we have to find the money for stadium overheads ourselves. Go back to Dewsbury and you lose more supporters. Either option means oblivion.
Getting into SL seems like a million miles away at the moment. If it did happen we could potentially expand the pitch again but we'd need income to guarantee we didn't end up in th same situations as in the past. I'm not confident it's possible. What we really need is a new ground. Is it beyond a possibility that they could sell Odsal as an inert landfil site and use the proceeds for us to build a nice tidy Halliwell Jones type ground somewhere in Bradford?
Hopefully Mark Dunning will get the team playing better rugby. I think that may be happening slowly. If that happens people will return, maybe not in their droves but it will happen. The Kear gameplan on the tiny pitch was a huge turn off for supporters. Opposition teams have played expansively on that surface so it can be done.

| Agree bullseye.
As to the question of super league, we all know it’s light years away on current standing however, if some miracle happened and we gained promotion I have no doubt we would play at odsal on the pitch as is.
We would be ridiculed every week for it but why would that bother our overlords? Instead each one of us on this forum would be made personally responsible for it from our friendly neighbours

| Have the club drawn up a shortlist… held any interviews, I’ve not seen anything but I’ve not really searched either. I’m fully expecting Dunning to get it now, probably waiting for a run of a few wins to announce. Good luck to him if he does, but it isn’t going to encourage many back and the silence from the club is deafening.
What is the exact opposite of the term ‘feel good factor’?

| Just a post to echo the general sentiment on here. The silence at the min is deafening and also alarming.
Im honestly getting to close to my absolute limit with the whole club at the minute. Its an absolute shambles from top to bottom. Absolute zero enjoyment at the minute with game day and there seems to be nothing going on off the field to give me any hope that thing are going to get better.
Having not missed a game for over 9 years (where crowds have been allowed) , im starting to feel like the only reason to attend games is just to 'keep the run going' rather than to go for any form of enjoyment.

Nobody is asking for a running commentary or expecting actual names on the shortlist.. but keeping your supporter base in the loop with a brief outline of where we are isn’t unreasonable is it?
At least we know there is still a process happening. Look forward to the announcement in September

| The club lacks a charismatic chief exec or marketing manager who can exude a bit of positivity. Wood certainly isn't that person. As a result people switch off and drift away. The club can't survive on fans feeling obliged to go to games. It has to be enjoyable. People need to feel like they're going to be entertained and have fun. It's like we've gone back to the mid 80s in terms of the state of Odsal and the enthusiasm from the boardroom.

| Lee Greenwood gets the sack at Dewsbury.
If anyone can be bothered looking back through this thread they will see people were calling for him to be our next head coach.
Just goes to show the level of RL knowledge on here these days i guess

Yeah Lee Greenwood was highly favoured before Kear arrived after he did a good job at Gloucester All Golds (wow, how soon we forget they even existed)
It shows that you can be a good young coach, but if you don't get the resources to take a club forward, then you're screwed. Since we are obviously skint, it doesn't matter who the next coach with the Bulls is, really. We could get Kristian Woolf or Tony Smith, but if they aren't given the tools, resources and authority to really deliver, then they're bound to come up short

| I’ve heard it’s Tom Tsang the former Coventry coach now head of Huddersfield’s academy. I called it earlier this one.

| If Dunning gets the results and the performances then why not him? I know he's relatively unknown but there's something to be said for giving him a go. I reeber way back in 89 when we had a perfectly good interim coaching team of Hobbs and Smales and we binned that and appointed aussie Ron Willey who was a disaster. Whoever it is needs to be absolutely the right man for the job. We can't afford another mistake.

| When Kear was sacked I was absolutely against Dunning being given the job as I felt we needed things freshening up and it would just be a continuation of where we are at.
However he's convincing me so far. There are visible changes to the way we're playing. We're putting on some good attacking moves. Even Baldwinsons "barge over" try, it was him actually running at an angle back on the inside that created space for him to crash over. We're actually grubber kicking into the in-goal and forcing drop outs. He dropped the captain and even when he came back in, he was only in the bench. I know we've all be calling out Crossleys performances on here, but it's still easy to call for the captain to be dropped, but it's very different for the interim coach to make that call.
I know Widnes are in a state, but they were gash last year when we lost by a point and threw away a home play-off spot because we played so negatively of trying to hold on to a lead for 80 minutes. The culprit then walked straight back in the team for the remaining games.
As daft as it sounds, I think we could have still lost that game yesterday under Kear as when Widnes did score, the crowd lifted and they did improve. If we'd have just been a try ahead, we'd have got sucker punched like we have been multiple times. But because we'd actually attacked and built up a lead, as soon as we got that penalty it killed them off.
Sheffield is an acid test as they are a decent team this year. I'd still maybe prefer someone new and fresh to come in, but I'd certainly be ear marking Dunning for a couple years time.

How long has he been here for? He’s been assistant to Kear, Toovey, Rohan Smith, Lowes at least. Bastian & whoever preceded John Bastian on the youth side. A range of coaching styles there. This is his chance to put it all together as his own man.

I think Kear played boring "survival" RL.
The problem with the Bulls is from the very top to the very bottom, It should have been raked out after admin 1, admin 2 and liquidation but we have got the same staff that oversaw failure headed by someone who has failed in every RL roll they have held.

| The culture is set at the top. Is it any wonder things went on the slide Caisley>Hood>Khan>Green>Chalmers>Wood. There's a real decline in standard right there.
